Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 245: Chapter 169: Shipwreck Belt and Hidden Side Quest_2

Li Yubin watched Wu Chang staring blankly at the wall, thinking he was possessed by something unclean. She raised the fire axe, whispering;

”Li Zaisi, wake up.”

Wu Chang turned his head to look behind her and said, ”What’s that behind you?”

Seizing the moment Li Yubin turned back, he pulled the fire axe out of her hand and infused it with thunder spiritual power, slashing at the mystical thread before him.

Screech.

Along with the sound of fabric tearing, the wall before them disappeared, revealing another section of the cargo hold.

Li Yubin rubbed her eyes, incredulously looking at the newly appeared corridor, ”How did you do that?”

This was a question not just Li Yubin wanted to ask, but Sword Star and the Negotiation Master also wanted to know.

As players, they hadn’t realized the wall before them was actually a secret door. How did their thrifty boss discover it?

With the powerful display of Li Yubin just moments ago, the two began to wonder if the Silent Route Dungeon plane’s rules favored the wealthy being powerful?

Is everyone like Batman, and the superpower is being rich?

Wu Chang returned the fire axe to Li Yubin and nonchalantly replied, ”There’s a door here. Can’t you see it?”

Everyone shook their heads in unison.

Wu Chang: ”Then that’s your problem.”

The mystical ceremony that cloaked the aura was destroyed, and the commotion inside was immediately exposed.

They hadn’t walked far when they saw three people fighting in the distance.

To be precise, it was two players vying over a native inhabitant of the dungeon plane.

One of the players was wearing a bishop robe, which bore the symbol of the Peaceful Sect instead of the New Cosmos Sect.

It made sense. With a derived religion causing such a ruckus, how could the Peace Church just sit idle and not send strong players to insert themselves into the fray.

Every time something happens, if it’s not this nasty, it feels like something is missing.

The player from the Peaceful Sect was surrounded by a magic array composed of mystical ceremonies that unfolded with him at its center, moving as he moved.

In his hand was a conductor’s baton as if directing an orchestra, with each wave launching several different styles of attacks from within the magic array.

As a novice Secret Magic Knight, Wu Chang could feel the effects of energy saving and spell amplification from the array.

With these two effects, the Peaceful Sect player’s magic seemed endless, with waves of attack magic that appeared to be a personal showcase.

The Sword Star at Wu Chang’s back couldn’t help but whisper, ”It’s the Secret Ceremony Master.”

He noted the name down and continued to observe the battle.

The target of the Secret Ceremony Master’s attacks was a standing black wolf, whose appearance bore an uncanny resemblance to the werewolves depicted in films.

The werewolf was tall, nearly four meters when standing upright, with formidable claws capable of easily piercing the ship’s hull, allowing it to cling to any location.

The werewolf’s movement pattern was akin to that of the ghouls, constantly maneuvering between the walls and ceiling with incredible speed, leaving only a faint black shadow in mid-air.

Though the werewolf was fast, it was no match for the speed of the Secret Ceremony Master’s attack magic, yet the master completely read the werewolf’s movements. Each attack was pre-emptively cast at the position of the werewolf’s movements, making it seem as though the werewolf ran into the magic.

In the scene, the Secret Ceremony Master held absolute initiative. However, the werewolf was no pushover, equipped with powerful regenerative abilities to withstand the continuous barrage of attacks from the master, his speed and power increasing with each injury as if stacking rage through suffering.

Both were top-level players, and from the power they displayed, both were no less strong than the Fire Master, notably stronger than Sword Star at present.

Without revealing their trump cards, the stalemate was such that there was no telling who would laugh last.

What the two top-level players were vying for was a seemingly unremarkable old man, an inhabitant of the plane.

The old man was caught between them, unable to advance or retreat, and found a seemingly solid wooden box to hide behind.

The players were exceedingly tacit, ensuring the battle didn’t affect the old man, nor did they let him leave.

Interesting.

The person two top-level players were contending over was of unknown origin.

The moment they appeared, they caught the attention of the two players. However, Wu Chang raised his voice, fearing they might not hear, shouting:

”I found a non-human creature in the cargo hold, along with a mysterious person controlling it with consciousness. Li Yubin, you guys go call the others over, and we’ll hold them off first!”

Saying this, Wu Chang took out his phone, aiming its camera at the two.

This situation completely left the two players at a loss.

There were no extraordinary abilities or werewolves in the Silent Route Plane, and if Wu Chang indeed called more people over, the two of them couldn’t possibly explain their way out.

The Secret Ceremony Master might dodge a bullet with the backing of the New Cosmos Sect, but the werewolf would not be so lucky.

With no force backing him, if someone firmly decreed he was a monster and suspected he was involved in incidents aboard the Sea Song, the whole ship’s native inhabitants might seek to eliminate him.

Even if not killed, completing the main quest would become extremely difficult.

The werewolf hesitated momentarily, then decided to halt temporarily. After all, in the vast sea, the old man couldn’t escape, and there would be plenty of opportunities to capture him later.

The werewolf made his decision, immediately letting out a roar to the sky, with visible soundwaves spreading from his mouth, causing everyone in the scene to cover their ears.
