Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 222: Chapter 161: Mysterious Backlash

Thanks to the powerful teaching capabilities, Wanghai First High School receives a huge amount of sponsorship fees every year, and both its software and hardware are first-class, comparable to private schools.

This auditorium, which is used every week, has not been opened for two months due to renovation.

During these two months, work was ongoing in the auditorium, but rather than renovation, it was being transformed into a huge church.

The original podium in the auditorium has been completely dismantled, replaced by a physical Gate of Heaven.

A massive stone gate, over ten meters tall, currently emits a faint glow as Wu Chang and others enter.

The most central node of the Earthly Divine Kingdom has finally begun to activate at this moment.

To activate the Earthly Divine Kingdom ceremony, the presence of the mysticism master is essential.

Upon entering the auditorium, Wu Chang’s gaze focused on the area with the thickest mysticism to find the mysticism master.

Soon, he locked onto a target.

Wherever the target went, the mysticism concentration noticeably increased, and the mysticism barrier surrounding the auditorium would also intensify.

Moreover, from the target’s height, body shape, and the subconscious habit of scratching fingers, the target locked onto was Tang Renquan.

Found you.

He cannot allow Tang Renquan to activate the ceremony so smoothly; he must cause some trouble, drawing out everyone present who understands mysticism.

He must both obstruct Tang Renquan and not let him detect obvious traces.

While the ceremony was not yet fully activated, he condensed a Spirit Body and pointed at Tang Renquan, initiating Calamity.

”The sum of the target’s Inspiration Will Attributes is less than 20% of the user’s two attributes combined, triggering effects: ’Plague’, ’Inviting Calamity’, ’Curse’”

”Due to the target’s low sum of Inspiration Will Attributes, special state triggered, mystical backlash.”

”Special State: Mystical Backlash”

”Status Description: Long-term exposure to mysticism has completely polluted the target’s body and soul. Now, under external stimulation, the hidden dangers erupt completely. Whenever the target uses mysticism-related abilities, they will fail and suffer backlash. The mystical ceremony arranged by the target will be in an uncontrollable state.”

Oh wow, hit the jackpot.

After using Calamity on the Archbishop in the Peaceful Town, Wu Chang triggered a special state for the second time.

The special state triggered by Tang Renquan was completely different from the Archbishop’s, and from the status description, it seems that the special state is not fixed, but greatly expands the target’s existing weaknesses.

The Archbishop blamed himself for judging Erin, thus triggering Resonance of Mental Images.

Tang Renquan had excessively used mysticism, which was already deeply ingrained in his bones, and he had not reincarnated to Secret Magic Knight, thus resulting in a mystical backlash.

The effect of mystical backlash was evident; as Tang Renquan, initially proceeding smoothly, reached a ceremony node and tried to connect, he fell to the ground as if electrocuted, convulsing continuously.

Several members of the Revelation quickly approached and helped him up.

Wu Chang activated Social Phobia and approached, able to hear them calling Tang Renquan ”Archbishop”.

Tang Renquan quickly regained his composure, broke free from their support, and wobbled to another node. He tried to activate the node, only to be bounced directly, crashing into a large number of tables and chairs.

What is going on?

Tang Renquan looked at his dislocated arm, his expression bewildered.

It doesn’t make sense; he’s a mysticism master, activating a mysticism ceremony already set up. How could he fail twice in a row?

Is his state off?

While a player specialized in healing was treating his dislocated arm, he beckoned a Night Melody waitress, instructing her to call over two bishops.

Following the departing waitress, Wu Chang left the auditorium and reached a nearby activity room.

Inside sat seven or eight members of Revelation, responsible for daily maintenance of the mystical ceremony and emergency intervention in case of accidents.

Upon hearing the waitress convey the instructions, two of them followed her to the auditorium while the others stood by for orders.

Wu Chang left his True Self outside the activity room, activated Social Phobia and Elite Stealth, and injected snake venom into the room.

Meanwhile, his True Self followed the waitress and two bishops back to the auditorium, temporarily suppressing Tang Renquan’s mystical backlash.

Since it’s been proven effective, there’s no rush.

Tang Renquan is still useful now; first let them activate the Earthly Divine Kingdom ceremony, and we can arrange for them later once the ceremony is activated.
