Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 232: Chapter 165: New Cosmos Sect

Even though the unlucky guy in front used a Transformation Pill to change his body shape and appearance, the iconic Flying Sword behind him still exposed his identity.

These two really seem to be fated; Wu Chang had been avoiding him, but somehow ended up in the same dungeon.

This time, the two weren’t grouped together; Sword Star once again queued into a high-difficulty dungeon, but it couldn’t be blamed on him at all.

Wu Chang showed no reaction to Sword Star’s words, but the four bodyguards behind him couldn’t remain indifferent.

As a democratic country, Gao Mu has always supported freedom of speech.

If this kid in front suddenly started cursing the boss or the old president, even if he called them national parasites, societal scum, a disgrace to human civilization, bloodsuckers lying on the people’s back, they could professionally maintain their cool as bodyguards and remain unmoved.

Only when the boss is unhappy and orders it, would they take action.

But when a peer causes trouble, that’s a different case.

If they don’t make this kid experience a taste of the seafloor at 4 AM tonight, how could the four of them maintain their reputation?

Facing the four aggressive bodyguards, Sword Star was indeed a bit unsure.

Maybe he sensed that he was about to complete a Sword Cultivator reincarnation, and to prevent the Abyss Second Layer’s advancement from appearing early in the Desolate Realm, the system increased his score.

At just level 23, he was directly queued into the almost out-of-control A-Level dungeon, which ranked number 10 in difficulty, the Silent Route.

Even a full-level Breaker from the Management Bureau would scratch their head, as for him, it was indeed overwhelming.

But now that it had come to this, he could only brace himself to tackle the dungeon.

Because this was his last chance; if he gave up, the Sword Cultivator reincarnation would fall short at the last hurdle.

Before the dungeon officially began, he was already preparing for a tough clear; who knew the first main mission would stump him right away.

He and Wu Chang were different; he knew a lot about the Silent Route. These details weren’t gathered purposefully; rather, the Management Bureau had appointed tutors for young, high-potential players like him to help them guide through dungeons.

The Silent Route Dungeon was one of the classic cases in the classroom.

According to information collected by the Management Bureau, no matter which ship the Silent Route dungeon corresponds to, the number of tickets available is always less than the number of players.

Quick hands get, slow hands miss out.

This case was used to teach Sword Star and others that in competitive missions, do not hesitate, make sure to be among the first to take action.

Striking first carries higher risks, but the competition is smallest.

The teaching perspective wasn’t wrong, but the tutor miscalculated in the assumption that students attending the dungeon strategy course were all stronger than players of the same rank and among the strongest in multi-player dungeons.

As early birds get worms, early worms get eaten by birds.

Without the strength to dominate the situation, even if you reap benefits by striking first, you can’t hold onto them.

Sword Star relied on decisive decision-making and swiftly targeted a Gulf Hall official and exchanged a lot of Rotten Silver Coins for Gold Blocks to get the ticket he wanted.

The official did secure the ticket for him, but as soon as he left the Gulf Hall, he was robbed by two agility-type players.

The other party were max-level players with powerful forward capabilities, shadowing Sword Star without being noticed. Perhaps fearing Sword Star’s backing from the Management Bureau, they didn’t attack him directly, but had no qualms about snatching his ticket.

By the time Sword Star received the news and looked for another ticket, the reliable channels were already occupied by other players.

Out of options, he came to try his luck with Wu Chang.

As a top conglomerate in the plane of the dungeon, and a randomly refreshed hidden NPC, acquiring a few tickets would be a breeze, but it also meant that methods used to bribe officials were difficult to apply to Wu Chang.

After thinking it over, he decided to use force to attract attention first.

Now that he successfully accomplished this step, whether he could win the subsequent fight was uncertain.

Wu Chang, though not possessing Sword Star’s Mind Reading Technique, could tell Sword Star’s anxiety with just his own eyes.

So many players were watching him, yet only Sword Star dared to come; this didn’t mean Sword Star was brave. Other players were waiting for him to board and set sail, to corner him when he was isolated with no help.

Sword Star coming to him likely meant he was at his wit’s end. If he didn’t give him a ticket, what would he do?

A mischievous curiosity rose in his heart, but he thought again and decided not to toy with Sword Star.

A player barely over level 20, who hadn’t finished his second reincarnation, surviving in a near out-of-control A-Level dungeon was challenging enough without accidentally getting killed in the process.

He glanced at the Four Great Vajra behind him, waved to the strongest among them, and said:

”Test his caliber, don’t use weapons, just until the point.”

While testing Sword Star’s strength, he would also measure the fighting prowess of the bodyguards behind him.

The bodyguard he picked bore the codename Cyan Dragon. Cyan Dragon bowed and then briskly walked toward Sword Star.

Wu Chang’s rules were not only intended for Cyan Dragon; Sword Star, understanding the situation, didn’t use his Flying Sword, and the two marked a range for a hand-to-hand sparring match.

As soon as it started, Sword Star noticed something unusual about Cyan Dragon. Although Cyan Dragon didn’t display any Extraordinary Power, he was wrapped with an invisible energy throughout his body; this energy was as hard as steel, and Sword Star’s Energy couldn’t penetrate it.

At the same time, Cyan Dragon’s punches and kicks were astonishingly fast, without the complex moves of advanced Fighting Skills, just simple jabs, sweeping legs, elbow strikes, knee strikes, and similar basic techniques.
