The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1350: Chapter 1350: Not Afraid of Offending People (4)

Yang Ruxin nodded. With so many clan members, there was bound to be a mix of good and bad characters, those like Dong Yun who were exasperating, as well as those like the Jiu Family mother and son who harbored gratitude.

Although Dong Wenming was a businessman, he was genuinely kind to Dong Wenxiu and lacked the mercenary nature of some merchants. In fact, he was a bit too kind-hearted. Therefore, during her time here, she resolved to expose those with nefarious intentions; she wasn’t afraid of offending people.

The struggle with Dong Yun’s branch of the family was already out in the open, so next would be the Xia Family. Although they did not share the Dong surname, they were more complicated than Dong Yun’s branch. After all, Xia Wenzheng had been helping manage the business affairs for many years and surely held some leverage or lifeblood of the Dong Family’s business. Hence, she couldn’t rush the matter and needed to strategize slowly.

Moreover, Yang Ruxin had managed to make a name for herself in the Dong Family by scolding others, and everyone quickly learned about the formidable daughter of the newly returned eldest daughter of the main branch.

Yang Ruxin didn’t care about these things at all. Starting from the next day, she began treating Dong Wenming and Dong Yushi. Although it was her uncle’s issue, she didn’t mention it. She didn’t want her uncle to feel inferior; it was her little selfishness because she felt closer to her uncle.

In fact, Dong Wenming’s illness wasn’t severe. The ”Yunmen Medical Classic” contained suitable prescriptions, and he would be healed with a few months of treatment. It was just a bit of inflammation. However, with Yang Ruxin’s treatment incorporating her intent, the effects were excellent, and he improved after just three days.

Of course, Yang Ruxin also prescribed herbal soups for Dong Yushi, as women often had gynecological issues, and it was always good to treat them.

It was said that after returning home, Dong Yun fell ill the very next day, with a fever and delirious speech.

Dong Wenjiang came to seek Yang Ruxin’s medical help but was informed that she wasn’t in the mansion and no one knew when she would return. With no other choice, he had to visit a medical clinic to seek a doctor.

In truth, Dong Wenming was somewhat skeptical. He was getting on in years and felt his vigor waning, so he thought Ruxin was comforting him and deterring others by claiming he could father a son. But after taking the medicine for two days and undergoing acupuncture for the same duration, he distinctly felt changes in his body, changes he couldn’t quite articulate, but they were unmistakably noticeable. He felt more energetic, for example, and now he felt a stir when lying next to his wife.

However, Xinxin advised that it was best to refrain from intercourse during the treatment period, so he abstained.

Dong Yushi also felt changes in her body; her complexion became rosier.

Both of them began to look forward to what was to come.

During her spare time over these days, Yang Ruxin also visited a few local pharmacies and inspected the shops included in her mother’s dowry. There were six shops within Hangzhou City alone, including two tea shops and two cloth shops doing good business. There was also a decent sundry goods store, but the porcelain shop suffered due to an out-of-the-way location and had only average business.

So, she went straight to Dong Wenming and decided to close down the porcelain shop, renovate it, and open a hot pot restaurant. ”I’ve looked over it; the shop has a large space. Although it’s located a bit off the main area, that doesn’t affect dining.”

”I’ve always thought that place had potential; it just seems a bit remote. Since you think it’s workable, let’s go ahead and open there. We can deal with the porcelain inventory in the next few days...”
