The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1314: Chapter 1314: You Don’t Understand Women (2)

”You’re wrong,” Yang Ruxin sneered. ”It’s just the opposite. What you can give me, he can also give me, but what he can give me, you can never provide.”

”Do tell,” he said.

”Sincerity!” Yang Ruxin looked at Qi Jingyun. ”And a love that lasts from the beginning to the end.”

Qi Jingyun just laughed, ”The so-called sincerity and love that women speak of are nothing more than a man’s doting. If you were with me, due to your lowly birthright, aside from the position of principal wife, which I cannot offer you, I can still make you the first consort. Moreover, I could let you run the Wang Residence’s inner courtyard, and most months, I’d spend the majority of my time in your room...”

Yang Ruxin actually really wanted to spit in Qi Jingyun’s face. A bit of arrogance was one thing, but this man was shamelessly proud of his own pompousness. With that, she pushed him away with force and then fixed her dress, ”Third Master, I think you’ve misunderstood me, though, it’s not exactly a misunderstanding, because you’ve never had a heart, nor do you know what love is. So, my words just now were indeed like playing the lute to a cow...”

Suddenly, Qi Jingyun’s hand shot out towards Yang Ruxin’s neck from behind, ”How dare you, did you really think...” But his hand stopped two inches from her neck, because a sharp dagger was pressed against his wrist. He believed that if he dared to move any closer, his wrist would be utterly disabled.

”Prince, my life may not be valuable, but I certainly don’t wish to throw it away so casually. So, if anyone wishes to take it, I don’t mind having both of us lose,” the atmosphere around Yang Ruxin changed as she asserted herself, ”I’m sure the Prince wouldn’t want to make such a losing deal, right?”

Qi Jingyun’s eyes narrowed slightly, but in the end, he withdrew his hand, yet he seemed somewhat perplexed, ”I’m not better than that man?”

”Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My man doesn’t need to be compared with anyone else,” Yang Ruxin smiled lightly. ”He’s the best in my eyes, and that’s enough. As for other men, whether they’re good or not, what does that have to do with me?”

Qi Jingyun frowned, ”Can I take this as you playing hard to get?”

”Heh, the Prince is not short of women, but you just don’t understand them,” Yang Ruxin scoffed. ”In this era, women are treated as accessories, little do they know, women can actually hold up half the sky. Isn’t the Princess Nishang from the previous dynasty a good example? The so-called doting you speak of is not what all women desire...”

”What do you want then?”

”I’ve said it: sincerity and a lifetime of love,” Yang Ruxin’s brows slightly raised. ”To hold hands with my beloved till old age. The Prince has a pair of hands, one to wield a sword and clear obstacles, the other could hold the one you love. Unfortunately, you love too many, and can’t possibly hold them all...” she paused a moment, ”Perhaps those women might even attack each other just to hold your hand, and when that time comes, it will probably be a headache...”

Qi Jingyun’s frown deepened, and though he didn’t move, the hand behind his back clenched.

”I’ve said what I needed to, I will take my leave,” Yang Ruxin nodded slightly, then turned to leave.

”Are you certain he can be with you, and only you, for a lifetime?” Qi Jingyun suddenly spoke up, ”Don’t forget, it’s customary for a man to have three wives and four concubines. Only an incompetent man would have just one woman, or even worse, fail to find a wife... If...”
