The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1326: Chapter 1326: Arriving in Yangzhou (2)

After two days of recuperation, the Ling Family no longer had a fever, just a lingering weakness, while Dong Wenxiu had fully recovered but had noticeably lost weight.

On the tenth day, the boat docked at the pier of Yangzhou City.

”Xinxin.” Qi Jingyun, for the first time, personally came to the doorway of Yang Ruxin’s room. ”We’re in Yangzhou City now. We’ll stay for most of the day. Do you want to go down and take a look around? It’s quite bustling here...”

Yangzhou? Yang Ruxin was quite intrigued. After all, in the future, Yangzhou, Suzhou, and Hangzhou were famous tourist attractions. Moreover, she had visited Suzhou and Hangzhou in her past life but had never been to Yangzhou, missing the chance to see Shouxi Lake. However, she knew that the Yangzhou of this era differed from the Yangzhou of her time, and apparently, the name Shouxi Lake didn’t even exist yet—it was a term that appeared during the Qing Dynasty. But since she was here, she might as well have a look.

Of course, she was even more eager to try the Yangzhou fried rice.

But the Yangzhou fried rice of this time had not yet developed the rich variety of ingredients it had in the future. The kind with shrimp and the like would only appear in the Qing Dynasty. What was available now was probably a more primitive egg fried rice, also known as ”shredded gold rice,” reputedly a favorite of Emperor Yang of Sui.

The Ling Family was still quite weak, definitely not fit to leave the ship, while Dong Wenxiu initially didn’t feel like moving, but she didn’t want to be apart from Yang Ruxin. The recent events still cast a shadow over her heart; she felt uneasy without staying by her daughter’s side.

Because Dong Wenxiu was accompanying her, Qi Jingyun arranged for two horse-drawn carriages to come over.

”Thank you, Third Master.” Yang Ruxin sincerely thanked him. ”We will definitely be back before dinner.”

”What, are you crossing the river and tearing down the bridge?” Qi Jingyun looked at Yang Ruxin with a mischievous gaze.

”Ah?” Yang Ruxin furrowed her brows. ”Whatever do you mean by that?”

”Nothing much, just be careful,” Qi Jingyun laughed.

Yang Ruxin’s eyes flickered, feeling that there was something sly about him. Fortunately, they didn’t have much of the journey left, and it would be good to reach Hangzhou sooner to part ways with this man.

”This old-fashioned charm has its appeal.” Yu Qingge looked around. ”But isn’t Yangzhou famous for something like the Eight Eccentrics? Not only fried rice but lion’s head meatballs, right?”

”You better be careful with what you say.” Yang Ruxin quickly gave her a warning glance. ”Those Eight Eccentrics refer to eight figures from the Qing Dynasty... Also, there isn’t yet a term called lion’s head.”

Yu Qingge quickly covered her mouth, relieved that there were no outsiders around. Auntie Xiu wasn’t the suspicious type, or they might have given themselves away. Nevertheless, she was still curious, ”So, what is lion’s head called?”

Yang Ruxin shook her head: ”Am I Baidu? How could I possibly know everything?”

Yu Qingge pouted: ”Then how do you know it’s not called lion’s head? Maybe it already is.”

Yang Ruxin rolled her eyes. ”Alright then, whatever makes you happy.”

The horse-drawn carriage stopped at an intersection resembling a commercial street. There was a place for mules and horses to be kept, much like parking lots of the future, which also charged a fee. But unlike the parking fees of the future that didn’t include fueling, here the fee included feeding the mules and horses.

The group walked down the street, and since it was already noon, everyone decided to eat before shopping.

”Miss, can we go to Yucheng Restaurant on the next street for lunch?” Yang Miao had been hesitant but finally plucked up the courage to speak.
