The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 604: Chapter 604: Doesn’t Matter Anymore (4)_1

”No need,” Yang Rusong, holding a book in his hands, couldn’t focus on reading at all. He looked up at Yang Ruyu and said, ”You’d better get started on cooking. The results will be out tomorrow.” Even if he was anxious, he had to appear calm.

Yang Ruyu pouted and unwillingly stood up. She was really tired of living like this.

At this time, both Yang Peili and his wife could get out of bed, but Yang Anshi, because of the cold outside, still preferred to cuddle up in bed, remotely directing Yang Ruyu to do the household chores and commanding Yang Baixiang to chop wood and carry water and the like.

”Dad, should we ask second brother and his wife to come back?” Yang Baixiang felt this was not right and tentatively suggested, ”After all, tomorrow is the day when Rusong’s examination results will be announced.”

”Call for what?” Yang Anshi spoke up, ”If they prefer the outside, then they can stay out there forever. I’ll pretend I never had that son. My grandson becoming a Scholar has nothing to do with them, and certainly nothing to do with the Feng Family...”

Yang Baixiang could only sigh.

”How can it have nothing to do with them?” Just then, a shrill female voice came through, and then Feng Caie arrived looking proud and confident, ”He’s my son, why would he have nothing to do with me?” Yang Baichuan and the heads-down Yang Ruban and Yang Ruohuai followed behind her.

”Mother,” Yang Ruyu burst into tears as soon as she saw the Feng Family.

”Alright, Yuyu, don’t cry. Here I am, back now, aren’t I?” The Feng Family’s matriarch quickly patted her daughter’s hand, only to find that it had become much rougher, which made her heart ache even more, ”You silly child, don’t you know to take care of yourself?”

”Mother...” The tears flowed even more fiercely from Ruxin’s eyes.

”Weren’t you talking about divorce? Weren’t you not coming back?” Yang Anshi had gotten down from the bed and now stood at the doorway, glancing sideways at Feng Caie, ”So why come back?”

”If your son hadn’t come to me on his knees begging, do you think I’d want to come back?” At this point, Feng Caie was not afraid of her mother-in-law at all, ”This man is now a wastrel...”

”You...”

”Enough,” Yang Anshi wanted to say more but was interrupted by Yang Peili, ”Less talk, what’s it going to hurt?”

”Yeah, mother, do you really want your son to be lonely and miserable in the future?” Yang Baichuan was also somewhat annoyed. Why did his mother have to talk so much?

Yang Anshi looked at her husband and son in disbelief, then turned and went back into the room: ”Fine, I’ll stay out of it. You all do as you please...”

”Rusong, what do you want to eat? Mother will cook for you.” Feng Caie, seeing Yang Anshi defeated, was immediately delighted and then happily turned to Yang Rusong, ”I brought back a big piece of meat from your grandfather’s house.”

”Thank you, mother.” Yang Rusong breathed a sigh of relief. He was just afraid of conflict arising amongst the family.

”Hey, why thank me? My Rusong is going to be a high official, and whatever he eats, it’s only right.” Feng Caie was thrilled looking at her eldest son. He was about to become a Scholar, and that made her a Scholar’s mother; people would have to regard her with more respect. In fact, if not for this, she would not have compromised and followed Yang Baichuan back. After all, a true divorce would be bad for her son.

”It’s good that you’re back.” Yang Peili nodded with satisfaction, then turned and went back inside.

But Feng Caie snorted coldly, glanced at Yang Baichuan, and commanded: ”Go fetch some firewood to light the fire.”

”Yes!” Yang Baichuan quickly nodded and then really went to light the fire.

”Second brother, let me help you,” Yang Baixiang eagerly followed as well.
