The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 208: Chapter 208: Listen to the Eldest Sister (Four Updates)_1

”Big Sister, Sanni is right, haven’t you forgotten about Uncle Zheng from Xiaobudong Village?” Erni’s face grew serious as well, ”He was lucky to be alive, but he lost an arm, yet his wife ran away with someone else within days, leaving behind a ten-year-old daughter to rely solely on him. You haven’t seen how miserable Liang Xiaohua was compared to him, I used to think I was fortunate... Now that we have silver, you shouldn’t go up the mountain anymore, just in case...” She even choked up a little as she spoke.

”Big Sister, I almost died last time, I don’t want anything to happen to you...” Sanni’s eyes reddened instantly as well.

Sini and Xiaofeng simply came over and each hugged one of Yang Ruxin’s arms.

Yang Ruxin cracked a smile, ”Don’t worry, I’ll not let anything happen to myself. If it’s dangerous, I won’t go, and besides, Gu Yao is there, he ’whooshes’ up the trees in an instant, even if we encounter wild beasts, we can escape... You have to believe in your Big Sister, I promised to give you a good life and I will definitely do it...”

The younger ones were still somewhat skeptical; after suffering for so long, they had finally begun to lead a hopeful life under their Big Sister’s wing, and they didn’t want to lose that.

”Should I swear it, then?” Yang Ruxin had to pull one arm out of Xiaofeng’s grip and lifted it above her head, ”If I...”

”Don’t.” All the younger ones exclaimed in unison, stopping Yang Ruxin’s oath, ”We believe...”

”Then let’s talk about spending money now,” Yang Ruxin breathed a sigh of relief; these little rascals were quite tenacious. She quickly changed the subject, ”Sanni is right, we have to be frugal with our money, but look at the state of our home, we’re lacking in everything, and there are things we need to spend money on... like long johns, cotton clothing, comforters, pots and pans, and also food... Do you remember how we got through last winter? Do you want to freeze your hands and feet again? If you’re not careful, it might even kill someone.”

Sanni felt that she had a point upon hearing this; it was bearable in the summer, but when winter came, none of them had proper cotton clothes.

”Silver needs to be earned through hard work, not by begrudgingly saving every bit here and there,” Yang Ruxin took the opportunity to educate the youngsters, ”Besides, we have two hundred taels, even if we spend lavishly, it could last us for more than ten years. By that time, we will find other ways to make money.”

Upon hearing this, everyone exchanged looks and felt that Big Sister’s argument made more sense. They no longer fixated on the issue; after all, the silver was earned by their Big Sister, and it was right to follow her lead.

”Alright, since we’ve agreed on that, let’s get going. We need to make a trip to town today to buy some grains and stuff,” Yang Ruxin dressed quickly, ”Erni, you cook; the rest of you wash up. I’ll stop by the Gu Family’s place and will be right back.”

The youngsters nodded hurriedly and started busying themselves with their tasks.

Yang Ruxin stepped outside and arrived at the Gu Family’s doorstep. In the courtyard, Gu Yao was practicing swordsmanship, but she had heard him at the gate and came right over to open it: ”So early?”

”I wanted to ask your older brother something,” Yang Ruxin walked in directly and first greeted Feng Family’s matriarch at the kitchen door.

”Qingheng is inside the room; go ahead,” Feng Family’s matriarch smiled and nodded, then continued with her cooking.
