The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

434: Chapter 434 Planning and the FutureZhu Yuanyuan held a bag full of cash, her heart brimming with anticipation.

”How about actually starting a business?”

”Opening a tutoring center, even if it only operated during the summer, would earn more than my job.”

”However, staying at the school could eventually lead to a tenured position, and the social status is higher than being a tutor.”

”This is Lu Province, where people value tenured positions far more than money.”

After lunch.

Han Jingyang dropped his younger sister off at school, then took Zhu Yuanyuan to her school.

Arriving at the school gate, he stopped the car, turned his head, and stared at Zhu Yuanyuan. ”Sister Yuanyuan, why not open a tutoring center?”

”I...”

”Reluctant to give up the school’s tenured position?”

”Yeah, my parents are both in the system; they definitely wouldn’t want me to give up such a good opportunity.”

”Being a teacher doesn’t stop you from making extra money. Is a school position really the same as a government position? Look at those professors; which one of them doesn’t have a side hustle? They have side jobs and run companies like crazy.”

”This...”

Zhu Yuanyuan was tempted.

Because it was the truth.

It wasn’t against the rules for university teachers to work side jobs, as long as they were legitimate. Opening a company and being a boss didn’t affect their teaching at the university. In some fields, it was even encouraged, urging professors to convert their research findings into commercial results.

Opening a tutoring center was even less of an issue.

The vast majority of university teachers had done something like this to some extent.

Some professors even did this specifically to consolidate their connections, tutoring the children or grandchildren of the powerful and influential; after all, tutoring was tutoring, no matter who it was for.

Han Jingyang’s English teacher in college did exactly that. She married a civil servant whose parents were mid-level cadres in Quancheng. After work, she would tutor the children and grandchildren of her in-laws’ colleagues or superiors. She only taught high schoolers, but in the first year, she helped several students get into 985 universities. Her reputation in the circle grew, and while she didn’t make much money, her in-laws’ and husband’s careers became increasingly smooth.

Back when they were dating, the in-laws looked down on her a bit, thinking she only had a career-track position, but later they treated her better and better, practically treating her like a treasure.

Why was that?

Because they valued education.

Even families with excellent conditions in all aspects valued their children’s education just as much, if not more.

Therefore, education—especially the high school education industry—would never decline, unless one day the compulsory education period was extended to twelve years.

If Zhu Yuanyuan was willing to do it, combined with the feng shui items and dharma instrument he arranged, it would definitely have great potential.

As long as she could improve their grades, opening a private high school in the future wasn’t impossible.

Of course, this idea was entirely for Zhu Yuanyuan; he himself had no interest in it.

After all, whatever he did, he would earn more than by opening a tutoring center.

Giving money directly to Zhu Yuanyuan?

That wasn’t a long-term solution.

He also didn’t want to turn Zhu Yuanyuan into a pet who only knew how to spend money.

The Zhu Yuanyuan he liked was a normal person with a complete personality.

Besides, Zhu Yuanyuan certainly wouldn’t accept it. Small amounts of money were fine, a few times was fine, but if it were for a lifetime, she would definitely not be willing.

So, he was very happy to help this little woman, Zhu Yuanyuan, arrange a reliable and suitable career.

Therefore, seeing that Zhu Yuanyuan was tempted, he immediately struck while the iron was hot. ”Next weekend, let’s go look for a place together. Whether we rent or buy, let’s settle it first, then start renovations. At the same time, we’ll recruit reliable teachers and strive to officially open before the winter break arrives.”

”I, I will try,” Zhu Yuanyuan said, taking out the sixty thousand-plus yuan she had just received. ”Should this money be enough?”

Han Jingyang pulled Zhu Yuanyuan into his arms and kissed her repeatedly.

Until the little woman was panting and blushing, he laughed and said, ”How about I take a share?”

”What do you mean?”

”I provide the money, you provide the effort. I’ll take 49 percent, and you take 51 percent. How about it?”

”Is 51 percent too much for me? I’d be very satisfied with ten or twenty percent.”

”The extra is just my sentiment.”

”You...” Zhu Yuanyuan was shy at first, then pinched Han Jingyang’s waist. ”Are you this considerate to all women?”

”Of course not, only to the women I like who also like me.”

”That must be a lot.”

”Not really that many,” Han Jingyang said, wrapping his arms around Zhu Yuanyuan’s soft waist, pulling her close, and swaying gently. ”We’ve known each other the longest, and our feelings are the deepest. No one can replace your position in my heart. Every time I see you or think of you, my heart beats very fast. Feel it.”

As he spoke, he took Zhu Yuanyuan’s palm and placed it on his chest...

At this moment, the ringing of Zhu Yuanyuan’s phone suddenly startled the two of them.

Zhu Yuanyuan pushed Han Jingyang away, rubbed her burning cheeks, then took out her phone and said in a low voice, ”It’s Sun Qian.”

After answering, she asked in a normal tone, ”Old Sun, what’s up?”

”I’ve been discharged from the hospital.”

”Are you better?”

”Yeah, my temperature has returned to normal, so I went through the discharge procedures.”

”Shall I come pick you up?”

”No need, there’s something else I want to trouble you with.”

”What is it?”

”I want to chat with your little boyfriend.”

”Chat about what?” Zhu Yuanyuan became immediately alert. Her roommate’s looks were not a bit inferior to hers, her figure was even better, she had a background in dance, practiced yoga, and had a very cheerful personality—the type most men liked. She didn’t want her roommate to become a rival in love.

Sun Qian whispered, ”Chat about metaphysics, and at the same time thank him for saving my life.”

Zhu Yuanyuan was even more nervous. ”Didn’t you say you didn’t believe in metaphysics?”

”I didn’t believe it before, but now I have to. Old Zhu, you aren’t afraid that I’ll steal your boyfriend, are you? Don’t worry, I definitely won’t steal him. Besides, he’s good in other ways, but he’s too much of a playboy; I look down on that the most. Didn’t you say so yourself? He has several other beauties around him; I have no interest in competing for favor with other women.”

”Swear it!”

”Okay, I swear!”

”Then let’s meet tonight; I’m busy this afternoon.”

”Thanks, Comrade Old Zhu, see you tonight.”

She hung up the phone.

Zhu Yuanyuan said nonchalantly, ”Sun Qian wants to thank you, saying she wants to thank you for saving her life. If you ask me, it wasn’t that serious, was it?”

Han Jingyang chuckled inwardly; he had heard everything clearly, including every word Sun Qian said.

But on the surface, he acted nonchalant and shook his head. ”It was quite serious. If it hadn’t been treated, at best she would have gone crazy, and at worst, she would have died.”

”What exactly was going on?”

”She came into contact with something unclean.”

”Can you be more specific?”

”It’s hard to explain. I don’t have much research on it; I can only say in general terms that it was something unclean.”

”Will, will it spread?”

”Yes.”

”Then I...”

”You’re fine; you have this protection,” Han Jingyang said, reaching out and pulling a peace buckle from Zhu Yuanyuan’s chest. ”This is a very powerful amulet; ordinary messy things wouldn’t dare to come near you.”

Zhu Yuanyuan suddenly realized. ”No wonder Sun Qian has been extremely resistant to me getting close these past few days.”

Saying this, she added, ”But I still feel that Sun Qian looking for you definitely isn’t that simple.”

Han Jingyang chuckled. ”I know what she wants to do.”
