The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

432: Chapter 432 Utter ChaosSun Qian didn’t know how to respond to these people for a moment.

Should she say Han Jingyang was a charlatan?

Or tell them that it was impossible for Han Jingyang to treat them?

Or perhaps, actually help them out?

These patients were truly having a hard time; two out of the three had difficult, mysterious illnesses, and the third had an incurable disease. Even if their family conditions weren’t terrible, they couldn’t withstand the drain of long-term, year-after-year expenses.

However, she really didn’t know how to respond to these people.

Nor did she know how to bring it up with Han Jingyang.

However, in the few days she had been hospitalized, she had learned about the situations of the other patients in the ward.

The six-year-old little girl had ALS. Although it was still in the early stages, getting this disease at that age was the cruelest thing. In the season when she should have been most joyful, she could only slowly wither away like a flower after it had bloomed.

There was also a female college student in her twenties who had some unknown illness; half her body would be hot while the other half was cold. When it flared up, the temperature difference between the two sides could be five or six degrees, with the high side reaching forty degrees and the low side thirty-three or thirty-four.

Then there was a seventy-year-old man who had hysteria; he would roll his eyes and talk nonsense all day long, wearing his family out.

To put it bluntly, there wasn’t a single normal patient in this ward.

The most ”normal” one was actually the little girl with ALS; at least she knew what her illness was. The other three, including Sun Qian herself, didn’t even know what they were suffering from.

Moreover, the family conditions of these few were all quite average—not the poorest, but not wealthy either. Just ordinary families that couldn’t possibly sustain such continuous consumption.

This was still just the onset; the families still held a sliver of hope. After some more time, in all likelihood, they would only be able to take the patients home to wait—to wait for the arrival of death.

Thinking of this, Sun Qian felt very uncomfortable in her heart.

Furthermore, during the two days she had been hospitalized, the families hadn’t skimped on taking care of her. Although it was just small things like helping bring food, fetching water, or changing towels, it made her, who had been suffering so much, feel the warmth of humanity.

What to do?

Sun Qian was very conflicted.

Her gaze fell on the cute little girl’s face in the opposite bed. Looking at those large, pitch-black eyes, her heart trembled, and she nodded.

Everyone was overjoyed and hurriedly thanked her.

Sun Qian hurriedly said, ”However, he... he is a big shot and quite busy. I don’t know if I can convince him to come. Besides, my relationship with him is only average; I’ve only met him once. He’s my roommate’s boyfriend. If, in the unlikely event that I can’t invite him, please don’t blame me.”

”We won’t blame you, we won’t blame you.”

At this moment, the middle-aged man who had just scolded Han Jingyang for opening the curtains said loudly, ”You can give us his contact information, and we will beg him ourselves. That way, regardless of whether he agrees or not, it will have nothing to do with you. Success or failure will be our own business.”

This time, Sun Qian decisively shook her head and refused.

No reason.

She would never do something like leaking someone else’s contact information without their consent.

No matter what the middle-aged man said, she simply wouldn’t budge.

In the end, Sun Qian even got up, got out of bed, and went to find the nurse.

She measured her temperature at the nurse’s station; it was thirty-seven point five degrees.

Sun Qian was both shocked and delighted.

What she was delighted about was naturally that her temperature had come down; this was already close to a normal body temperature.

What she was shocked by was that Han Jingyang’s methods were actually effective, and this exceeded her understanding, shattering the worldview she had built up since childhood.

Could it be that Han Jingyang, that tall, handsome, sunny, and cheerful young man, really possessed skills that exceeded the understanding of ordinary people?

This...

Sun Qian was completely confused.

She wasn’t some scientific researcher, and she hadn’t even studied science, but the environment she lived in and the education she received from childhood had always told her to believe in science and respect science. Yet, when she actually encountered a problem, it turned out that only metaphysics could solve it. How could she not be confused?

But the facts were right before her eyes, and she had to believe them.

Before, no matter how they tried to lower her temperature, it wouldn’t come down. IV drips, injections, medication, and physical cooling were all useless. It would drop a little bit, then quickly flare back up; it was simply uncontrollable.

They had done a pile of examinations but found nothing at all. They couldn’t find the cause of the illness at all; apart from the fever, everything was normal.

But now? Han Jingyang had shaken a bell over her for a while, and she was fine. All illnesses were gone, and the temperature that hadn’t come down for so many days had dropped within a mere ten minutes or so.

This gave her the urge to find Han Jingyang and ask for a clear explanation.

But thinking of how she had treated Han Jingyang just now, she also felt a sense of shame about meeting him again.

Before, she had treated him with utter disdain.

Now, she was full of enthusiasm.

Did she even have any face left?

But thinking of that little girl in the ward who was destined to step-by-step walk towards death, she gritted her teeth, made up her mind, and decided to find Han Jingyang and apologize.

If all else failed, she would just go all out!

Her, Sun Qian’s, assets were not bad at all.

She didn’t believe that little playboy wouldn’t be tempted.

While Sun Qian’s mind was wandering.

The little playboy, Han Jingyang, had already picked up his sister. Looking at his sister’s radiant, joyful appearance, he knew her school entrance exam results were definitely not bad, but he still asked on purpose, ”Xinxin, how did you do on the exam?”

”Guess?”

”You didn’t bomb it, did you?”

”How is that possible!”

”Then did you make it into the top twenty?”

”Guess again.”

”Top fifteen?”

”Guess again!”

”Top ten?”

”Still wrong, be bolder with your guess.”

”First in the class?”

Han Jingxin couldn’t hold back anymore and laughed out loud, ”That’s right, first in the class, twenty-second in the grade.”

Han Jingyang clapped, ”That’s really great. The effort of this whole summer vacation didn’t go to waste; it was worth your tireless studying day and night, and it was also worth the diligent guidance from Zhu Yuanyuan.”

Han Jingxin hugged Zhu Yuanyuan, ”Thank you, Zhu Yuanyuan. That I could achieve this today is all thanks to your good teaching.”

Zhu Yuanyuan was stunned.

She had accompanied Han Jingxin for the whole summer vacation and knew Han Jingxin’s situation very well. As for being smart, she wasn’t necessarily that smart, and her foundation was just average. She was that kind of ordinary student with average talent, who didn’t work hard and lacked initiative—the kind where passing the first-tier university cutoff line depended on luck.

She had indeed worked hard during this summer vacation, and her progress was quite significant, but in any case, it shouldn’t have been enough to score first in the class and twenty-second in the grade.

This progress was unusually outrageous.

Let’s put it this way: this level of progress was comparable to the Chinese national football team making it into the top four of the 2026 World Cup finals.

It was very magical.

Not realistic at all.

This even made Zhu Yuanyuan doubt whether she was really cut out to be a tutor.

If every student she tutored could make this kind of progress, why would she bother being a university counselor? She’d quit and open a cram school!

No, she wouldn’t even ask for such huge progress; if she could get even half or a third of this progress every vacation, she could make a fortune.

Anyway, it just gave her a very unreal feeling.

However, she didn’t doubt the authenticity of Han Jingxin’s grades at all, nor did she ask questions like ”Really?” or ”Did you cheat?” Instead, she followed Han Jingyang’s lead and encouraged her, ”Your brother is right. This is the fruit of your sweat. Your brother might not know, but how could I not? I witnessed every one of your focused nights and every morning you rose at the first light of dawn to practice. I knew back then that you, Xinxin, would definitely make great progress.”

Speaking of this, she paused for a moment, ”Of course, this was just the school entrance exam, a summary of the last semester. With the new semester starting, you must maintain the same study momentum you had during the summer vacation while at school. Can you guarantee that?”

Hearing this question, Han Jingxin scratched her head, ”I don’t know why, but I can never find the same feeling at school that I have at home. I’m not as focused during class. What’s going on?”

As she said this, she looked towards Han Jingyang.
