The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

430: Chapter 430 A Steadfast MaterialistWhen Han Jingyang last saw Sun Qian, he did indeed discover that she had come into contact with something unclean.

To be precise, her body had been tainted by some aura with negative properties.

But in his view, it wasn’t a major issue; the little bit of aura she had contracted was entirely superficial and would slowly dissipate after a while, not causing any significant harm to her person—at most, she would just be unable to rest well and feel lethargic for a period.

If she could exercise often, get some sun, or even take a walk around a temple or Taoist shrine, such a minor problem would be easily resolved.

It certainly shouldn’t have caused Sun Qian to have a persistent fever, fluctuating up and down without stopping.

There were only two possibilities for this problem to occur.

One, Sun Qian had a unique constitution, and even that little bit of unclean aura was too much for her to handle, leading to illness.

Two, Sun Qian had come into contact with something else, exacerbating the symptoms.

Of course, it was also possible that she was actually sick, and the hospital just hadn’t detected it or something else was going on.

However, none of this was an issue.

It was a piece of cake for him.

He would first go to the hospital to cure Sun Qian, and then head to the school to pick up his younger sister before going home for a meal.

The results for the start-of-semester exams had just been released that morning.

Although his sister had been evasive about her specific grades when she called, only telling him to bring Zhu Yuanyuan home for dinner, he didn’t need to think twice to know they must be quite good.

Under these circumstances, they certainly had to celebrate properly and take the opportunity to thank Zhu Yuanyuan, the tutor.

On the surface, his sister’s academic improvement was one hundred percent thanks to this good teacher, Zhu Yuanyuan.

He got into the car.

Han Jingyang turned his head and stared at Zhu Yuanyuan for a few seconds, then suddenly reached his arm around the outside of her.

Zhu Yuanyuan blushed and obediently closed her eyes.

But the next second, he pulled the seatbelt over and carefully fastened it for her.

Zhu Yuanyuan was mortified and pummeled his chest with her little fists.

But this time, he withstood the ”ferocious” assault and kissed her.

Zhu Yuanyuan struggled for a few seconds, but she was pinned firmly by the seatbelt and couldn’t move, so she could only let him launch his wild assault.

Until a car horn sounded.

The two of them separated.

Han Jingyang chuckled softly: ”My dear Sister Yuanyuan, are you free this afternoon? Let’s go hiking together, let’s climb Thousand Buddha Mountain.”

Zhu Yuanyuan covered her face and nodded gently.

Hehe.

Han Jingyang felt secretly pleased, started the car, and headed straight for the municipal hospital.

As soon as he entered the ward, he frowned directly.

Although this hospital wasn’t exactly a pleasant place, generally speaking, it was still normal.

But why was this ward... filled with yin energy?

Was it just this ward? Or were all the wards like this?

Han Jingyang held Zhu Yuanyuan’s hand and walked in first.

This was a standard four-person ward; four patients plus a number of family members packed the small room to the brim. Even with the air conditioning on, it didn’t feel very good. The air quality went without saying—the distinct smell of the hospital ward combined with the scent of food, body odor, and the strange smell blowing from the air conditioner made the already crowded ward feel even more suffocating.

It was a bit outrageous.

But... it was also normal.

Summer in Quancheng was naturally hot, and the hospital wards in the provincial capital were even more strained. Many departments had beds arranged in the hallways, and even then, it was hard to find a bed. After all, hospitals in Quancheng didn’t just serve the people of Quancheng, but patients from all over the country.

Quancheng was the capital of Lu Province, and its medical resources were considered quite strong, attracting many patients from all over the country every year.

Although the municipal hospital wasn’t very famous, the strain on medical resources was an undeniable fact.

This was something Han Jingyang, a child who grew up in an ordinary family, understood best.

What? Why not stay in a private room? Of course, it was because they were poor.

Zhu Yuanyuan and Sun Qian were both counselors, and their salaries weren’t high—around four thousand a month after taxes. After eating, drinking, and buying some cosmetics, there wasn’t much left. If they bought clothes or shoes, they would have to live paycheck to paycheck. Their lives were much harder than outsiders imagined.

And that was with the accommodation costs saved.

If they were renting a place outside, they wouldn’t even dare to get sick. If they could get through the year without going into debt, it would be considered managing their finances well.

This was all stuff Zhu Yuanyuan had complained about to him; it was very real.

Sun Qian was exactly that type of person living paycheck to paycheck, and the money for her medical treatment was borrowed from Zhu Yuanyuan.

So, forget about private rooms; just being able to get admitted was already pretty good. During the peak seasons of winter and summer breaks, finding a standard ward required begging everyone you knew.

Thinking this, his gaze fell on the bed by the window.

Sun Qian was lying on that bed, receiving an IV drip, but she was asleep. She was covered with a sheet and had a towel on her forehead, but her face was still flushed bright red. Her originally plump lips were chapped and wrinkled from the fever, with cracks so deep they were even stained with blood. Although her eyes were closed, her expression was visibly pained.

Poor Teacher Sun.

Han Jingyang felt a little bit of pity for this originally passionate and fiery beautiful counselor.

But that was all.

Illness? What kind of illness was this? It was truly a matter of just waving his hand; there was absolutely no need to use any skills.

Of course, that was for him. If it were someone else, it certainly wouldn’t be this easy.

Zhu Yuanyuan asked in a low voice: ”Did you see the problem?”

”Yeah, it’s still the same reason I mentioned that day.”

”Then why has it gotten so serious?”

”If it isn’t treated in time, this is the consequence.”

”Then what should we do?”

”Discharge her, and we’ll treat her back home.”

”This...”

”What’s wrong?”

”She might not agree.”

”What do you mean?”

”She doesn’t believe in the things you mentioned; she still insists that you are a small-time charlatan playing tricks.”

”I get it, a staunch materialist.”

”Yes, that’s exactly it. She says those methods of yours are purely charlatan tricks, a combination of magic and deception, and that everything can be explained with scientific theoretical knowledge.”

Han Jingyang laughed.

It seems the country’s compulsory education and higher education work have been very successful.

That is good.

But a true materialist wouldn’t reject these ”charlatan tricks,” nor would they stubbornly deny the existence of metaphysics.

metaphysics truly exists.

metaphysics is also a part of materialism.

It’s just that it is indeed very difficult to carry out observation and measurement work in metaphysics, and it doesn’t quite match up with current mainstream physics, chemistry, and astronomy. Therefore, in the public’s mind, metaphysics has become synonymous with feudal superstition.

Of course, Han Jingyang didn’t care.

metaphysics is just like that; whether you believe in it or not, it’s always there—unseen and untouchable, yet always existing.

So, he smiled: ”It doesn’t matter, whether she believes it or not isn’t important.”

”What should we do?”

”Since she doesn’t want to be discharged, I’ll just cure her right here.”

”Right here?”

”Yes, right here.”

”This...” Zhu Yuanyuan glanced at the room full of patients and their families.

Three patients plus seven or eight family members packed the small ward to capacity. At this very moment, everyone was eyeing Han Jingyang and Zhu Yuanyuan.

The two of them were simply too outstanding in appearance.

Especially Han Jingyang—tall, handsome, sunny, and gentle, with an indescribable, mysterious aura about him, and a pair of bright, deep eyes that were unforgettable upon first sight.

Handsome! Great physique! Charismatic! With these conditions, it would be hard not to attract attention.

Han Jingyang was completely unreserved. He smiled and nodded at everyone, then walked to the window and pulled open the curtains: ”You all need to get more sunlight in this ward. Don’t you feel that it’s cold and gloomy in here?”
