Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 280: Chapter 229: Snatching the Pearl

Sea City Ruins, on a broken bridge somewhere.

Two soldiers in military uniforms were surrounded by several sea beasts.

Both soldiers were not weak. They had reached the Silver High Stage and had extremely rich combat experience.

However, among the several Silver Stage Sea Beasts encircling them, one of them was a Four Pillars Sea Beast, a Master Star Beast specializing in strength and defense.

The attacks of the two soldiers landed on the back of the Four Pillars Sea Beast, but they couldn’t break through its defense at all.

The Four Pillars Sea Beast, fending off their attacks, aggressively approached, not only injuring one of the soldiers but also forcing both into a corner.

Seeing the situation getting worse, the injured soldier shouted: “Brother, you’re stronger. If you can find a way to escape, go by yourself!”

“No way, our Squad 708 has never abandoned a teammate.” The other soldier, slightly older and burly, resolutely refused.

The injured soldier pressed down his injuries and clenched his teeth: “Alright, since it’s like this, I have a burst skill. Brother, help me buy some time!”

“Okay!” The burly soldier responded in a deep voice, fully powering up his Star Power and charging forward.

But just then, the void in front of them slightly twisted, and suddenly a giant silver hand appeared above the sea beasts’ heads, slamming down fiercely!

“Bzzz!…”

The space quivered, and the air waves exploded!

Except for the Four Pillars Sea Beast, the other sea beasts were instantly turned into blood mist under the giant palm!

Although the Four Pillars Sea Beast wasn’t crushed to death, its body was covered in large cracks, constantly oozing blood, and severely injured, unable to get up for a while.

After the slap, the silver hand disappeared back into the void.

“Someone’s helping!”

The injured soldier was surprised and delighted, scanning the surroundings but not seeing anyone.

“Up there,” the burly soldier reminded.

Both looked up, seeing a young figure in a black robe swiftly moving forward in mid-air.

“Must be an academy student, really impressive,” the injured soldier marveled.

“Such a strong casual strike, must be a top genius of the academy,” the burly soldier also admired, then looked at the heavily injured Four Pillars Sea Beast ahead, “Is your skill ready? Let’s first solve this Master Sea Beast!”

“It’s ready… Storm Water Dragon Break!”

…

In mid-air, Su Yuan retracted his gaze at the scene below.

“These two should be fine.”

Along the way, Su Yuan saw many scattered sea beasts or human soldiers. He also saw several students, all of whom were at the Gold Level, likely responding to the army gathering from other islands.

But Su Yuan didn’t intend to clear these sea beasts. It was only because the two soldiers were in grave danger that he helped with the Void Splitting Monument Hand.

The main goal now was to stop the revival of the Demon King. These sea beasts didn’t matter anymore.

The revival of the Demon King would certainly require a lot of energy, so Su Yuan headed in the direction with a higher energy density sensed.

For others, it might be difficult, but Su Yuan, relying on his Master Level breathing technique, locked onto a direction after searching for a while.

At this moment, in the distance where Su Yuan’s gaze fell, he could see a grand and ancient mysterious altar.

The strong energy was emanating from it.

Besides, Su Yuan could also vaguely sense Star Power fluctuations and the sounds of battle from somewhere ahead.

“Looks like someone got there first.”

Su Yuan’s heartbeat quickened, and he immediately sped up. Soon, he saw some soldiers and groups of sea beasts fighting at a distance from the altar.

On the army’s side, there were three Gold Level warriors and over thirty Silver Warriors, likely gathered together after entering the Secret Realm.

On the sea beasts’ side, there were two Gold Level beasts, but more than fifty Silver Stage sea beasts.

The overall strength of both sides was about equal, leading to a stalemate.

Besides, there were even stronger Star Power fluctuations coming from the altar, indicating the presence of other sea beasts.

“It seems that the sea beasts found the altar first, and the soldiers arrived later, trying to interfere but being blocked by some sea beasts.”

Su Yuan analyzed and understood the situation below.

After a little thought, Su Yuan didn’t show up to help but instead concealed his aura and quietly approached the direction of the altar.

This mission’s main goal was to stop the South Sea Sea Beasts from reviving the Demon King, so the sea beasts’ actions at the altar were more important.

Soon, Su Yuan arrived at a bell tower outside the altar and focused his gaze on the altar.

At the center of the altar was a black stone inscribed with numerous complex runes, emanating strong energy fluctuations.

Around the black stone, two groups of Star Beasts were fiercely fighting!

One group was the sea beasts that had entered the Secret Realm, numbering over sixty, including four Gold Level sea beasts.

The other group was a bunch of Naga Sea Demons, with three of them being Gold Level. Among them was a Six-Armed Naga at the Gold Middle Stage, holding six sharp long sabers, agile and powerful in saber skills, fighting alone against two Gold Level sea beasts and several Silver Stage sea beasts, even suppressing the two Gold Level sea beasts, showing incredible combat power!

Looking at it, the sea beasts alone wouldn’t be able to deal with these Naga Sea Demons.

However, after a while, Su Yuan on the bell tower sensed something, turned to look into the distance, and his eyes slightly moved.

“The sea beasts entering this ruin are indeed quite elite…”

In the distance, another group of sea beasts ignored the soldiers fighting outside and headed straight for the altar, led by a Gold High Stage Master Black Water Jade Qilin Beast!

The Black Water Jade Qilin Beast, a Qilin subspecies, was not weak. Among the many water-type Master Grade sea beasts, it was quite well-known.

“This Six-Armed Naga is strong, suppressing two Gold Level Elite sea beasts is fine, but with this Black Water Jade Qilin Beast coming, it might be hard to hold on…”

Su Yuan’s eyes showed contemplation, observing quietly.

Not knowing the rules of this Secret Realm yet, it was better to see what these sea beasts would do after breaking through the altar’s defense.

After all, they didn’t know how to revive the Demon King in the ruins, but the sea beasts, who had been planning for a long time, surely did.

Unexpectedly, the Fierce Battle Naga couldn’t resist the siege of several Gold Level sea beasts for long. After slaying one Gold Level Elite, it was also violently wounded by the Black Water Jade Qilin Beast, losing half of its body!

The Fierce Battle Naga’s death left the remaining Naga Sea Demons defenseless against the sea beasts, all being eliminated shortly after.

Besides the Black Water Jade Qilin Beast, three other Gold Level Elite sea beasts remained.

The Black Water Jade Qilin Beast, shaking its tail in excitement, walked to the center of the altar, extending its claws to touch the black stone.

At first, nothing happened, but as it was about to touch again, a strong wave erupted from the black stone, scaring the Black Water Jade Qilin Beast into retreating two steps.

After this wave, accompanied by cracking sounds, the surface of the black stone shattered inch by inch.

As the black fragments quickly fell off, an eight-armed Naga revealed itself from within!

This Ancient Naga, shimmering, opened its eyes, powerful Star Power surging from its body. It extended its eight arms, summoning eight golden blades!

[Ancient Naga]

[Grade: Master]

[Element: Gold, Water]

Su Yuan looked at the eight-armed Naga with a serious expression.

“What a powerful aura. It seems even stronger than the Qilin subspecies, almost comparable to pure-blood High Level races!”

This Ancient Naga, despite being a Master Star Beast, was vastly stronger than the previous Fierce Battle Naga!

The reason, besides it being a Gold High Stage, was its much purer bloodline than the previous Six-Armed Fierce Battle Naga!

It was similar to the difference between pure-blood Dragon Clan and subspecies Dragon Clan, both being Master Star Beasts but with much different combat power.

Now, this Ancient Naga was not much different from dragons, phoenixes, and qilins, probably also a high-level race once.

The reason for “once”…

Because this Ancient Naga was completely different from the previous Fierce Battle Naga and Water Element Elf, which were creatures of the ruins, this Ancient Naga seemed more like it had been petrified and frozen for countless years until now.

“This eight-armed Naga’s appearance is unexpected. I wonder how the sea beasts will deal with it… Hm?” Su Yuan suddenly frowned.

In the altar, after the Ancient Naga awakened, it was about to attack the Black Water Jade Qilin Beast and other sea beasts.

But as the Black Water Jade Qilin Beast roared at it, the Ancient Naga seemed to understand, stopping, and a fervent look appeared in its eyes!

It let go of one of its golden blades, turned its claw inward into its abdomen with a painful yet devout and feverish expression.

Soon, it actually took out a fist-sized bead emitting a rich water-colored glow.

As soon as the bead appeared, Su Yuan felt an intense energy fluctuation!

It turned out that the strong energy fluctuation on the altar came from the bead inside the Ancient Naga!

After the bead was taken out, the Ancient Naga’s radiance dimmed, seemingly losing energy, and from bottom to top, it gradually petrified into a large black stone sculpture.

This time, it was truly dead, with no vitality left.

Only the water-colored bead in its palm emitted a dense glow.

The Black Water Jade Qilin Beast, ecstatic, reached out its claws to grab it.

But just then, the Black Water Jade Qilin Beast sensed a faint peculiar fluctuation locking onto it, disappearing in a flash before it could react.

In its place was a silver-eyed youth with a handsome appearance.

It was Su Yuan who had swapped places with it using Teleportation!

“This move is really good for snatching treasures…”

Su Yuan smiled, taking the bead from the Ancient Naga’s palm and putting it away.
