Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 262: Chapter 214: First Encounter with the Sea Beast Tide

The next day, under the guidance of an academy teacher, Su Yuan and others boarded a ship heading to Island B-3.

Because the route was currently maintained by the military personnel, everyone on the boat arrived at the edge of the island without any danger.

The sea around the island had already turned red, and there was a strong smell of blood in the air.

Many sea beast carcasses and body parts were still floating on the surface, looking like they had been dead for less than two days.

“It’s quite shocking…” Cheng Mu’s pupils trembled slightly as he murmured in a low voice.

Su Yuan observed for a while and guessed that there were probably no fewer than five hundred sea beasts involved in this attack.

This was still the northern side of the island; the situation on the southern side must have been even more intense. After all, these sea beasts mostly surged in from the south.

As soon as the boat docked and everyone disembarked, they immediately felt an even stronger smell of blood and stench. The whole shoreline had been stained a dark red color by flesh and blood.

Not far from the shore, students were still throwing sea beast carcasses into the water. Otherwise, the shoreline near the sea would have already been filled with sea beast bodies.

Seeing everyone arrive, a team of soldiers came up, leading them to a temporary camp on the island.

After some communication, the Shining Star Level teacher Yu Hui, who led the team to Island B-3, went to the command post in the camp to communicate for a while. He then returned and said to everyone, “This is the camp. Aside from shifts to guard and patrol the shoreline, we usually rest and wait here.

If we encounter a sea beast tide attack, be ready to fight at any time.

So now, the 8th team will go to the western area we’re responsible for…”

“In the southwest direction, there is a group of over 200 sea beasts continuously approaching the island!” Just then, the camp’s broadcast suddenly sounded.

Su Yuan and others immediately looked toward the distant sea.

Sure enough, they saw a mass of dark star beasts approaching Island B-3 from the southwest direction.

Soon, Yu Hui’s detection communication device seemed to receive a message and lit up.

After checking the message, Yu Hui’s expression shifted. He raised his head and said to everyone,

“Teams 11, 28, and 34 head to the southwestern coast to assist in dealing with this batch of invading sea beasts. There’s already a team from Wanzhou Academy stationed there. Team 8 will guard our designated area by the shoreline. The rest stay on standby in the camp!”

At the end, Yu Hui reminded, “Be extra careful; ensure there are no severe casualties!”

Ensure there are no severe casualties, rather than no casualties at all.

It was clear that, in Yu Hui’s view, it was normal for two or three people to die in such operations.

“Yes!”

The captains of the six teams, including Liu Congyun, all felt a shiver in their hearts. They answered in unison and then split into two groups to take action.

By the time the three teams from Demon Capital Academy got close, the large group of sea beasts had already approached within about two kilometers, making them even more visible.

“They’re not fast, but their size… they’re really not small!”

The people from Demon Capital Academy looked at the variously shaped sea beasts, generally over four or five meters long, and whispered among themselves.

The students from Wanzhou Academy were already prepared ahead, with a group of fifty or sixty people standing slightly away from the shore. They had also set up many traps, obviously waiting for the star beasts to come ashore before taking action.

It didn’t take long for the group of sea beasts to rush onto the island.

Except for a few sea beasts, most of them slowed down significantly.

One of the Gold Level students shouted, “Long-range magic, get ready… release!”

Wind Arrows, Ice Cones, Star Power Beams, Saber Light and Saber Energy…

A barrage of skills hit the slowed sea beasts head-on, causing a cacophony of explosions and wails.

Although these sea beasts had thick skins and astonishing constitutions, under this round of skill attacks, even without close combat, thirty or forty of them fell.

And it didn’t stop there. As the sea beasts advanced, one trap after another, set by Wanzhou students, was triggered.

Fiery Flame Burst, Thunder Roar!

In just a moment, another twenty or so sea beasts died on the spot.

Without even touching people, a quarter of the 200-plus sea beasts had already fallen!

However, soon, two gigantic sea beasts, each with a menacing dozen or more flesh spikes on its back, broke away from the herd and charged out quickly!

Su Yuan had a thought and activated his detection communication device with Star Power. Accompanied by slight Star Power fluctuations, he quickly read the information of these two gigantic sea beasts.

[Sea Scale Monster]

[Grade: Elite]

[Realm: Gold Early Stage]

[Introduction: An amphibious creature, carnivorous, with extremely sharp back spikes. Never fight it with your body.]

“Two Gold Levels, leave them to us!”

From Wanzhou Academy, a man and a woman rushed out immediately to intercept the two Gold Level sea beasts.

Meanwhile, the remaining Wanzhou Academy students also leapt forward to engage the other sea beasts.

“Let’s go help. Try to look out for each other between squads.”

Liu Congyun said and then led everyone forward.

Su Yuan drew his Phoenix Perch Saber, glanced around, and charged in with Gong Zhouheng and others.

Gong Zhouheng was a Wind Element Star Card Master who wielded a saber. His agile moves were highly suitable for this kind of melee combat.

Silver Extreme Wind Star Power boosted his saber, enhancing its tearing effect. Each slash sprayed blood from the target sea beast.

“Battle near the sea, it looks like it’s my time to shine!”

Pei Pengfei wielded a Muddy Water Black Stick. Made from considerable savings, this blue star artifact could draw moisture from the air, boosting attack power.

Here by the sea, this Muddy Water Black Stick undeniably operated at over 100% power!

Pei Pengfei’s fat shook as he swung the stick, smashing into a Silver Middle Stage sea beast and flattening it.

Then, riding on his victory, he delivered seven or eight rapid strikes, quickly reducing the star beast to a bleeding, mangled heap.

After all, they were senior students from Demon Capital Academy, so their strength and skills were formidable.

Cheng Mu brandished a long spear, with sharp golden Star Power concentrating at the tip.

“Golden Spear Thrust!”

Cheng Mu bent his knees slightly and suddenly thrust forward into a Silver Stage sea beast with black scales!

Blood sprayed as the spear penetrated the sea beast but was then caught by its dense muscles.

“Amazing defense and constitution!!”

Shocked, Cheng Mu tried to infuse Star Power into the spear for an explosion.

However, the sea beast roared, twisting its body. The incredible force transmitted along the spear nearly sent Cheng Mu flying!

Being thrown into the star beast crowd could spell disaster!

“Oh no!”

Feeling himself lift off the ground, Cheng Mu’s face changed. He was about to call for help.

However, in the chaotic melee, neither Gong Zhouheng nor Pei Pengfei, who were some distance away, could assist, being blocked by other sea beasts.

At that critical moment, another hand suddenly reached over, pressing on the slightly bent spear, and pushed Cheng Mu back to the ground.

Not only that, Cheng Mu no longer felt the force trying to throw him from the spear.

As if the mysterious hand bore all the sea beast’s strength, the sea beast couldn’t budge the spear!

This thrilling change left Cheng Mu momentarily stunned.

Su Yuan gently reminded, “Cheng Mu, finish it.”

“Oh… okay!”

Coming to his senses, Cheng Mu poured a huge amount of Star Power into the spear, forming a bright golden star at the tip.

“Hundred-Split Golden Spear!”

With a low shout, Cheng Mu unleashed the concentrated gold Star Power, radiating like countless sharp blades, shredding the sea beast internally into a honeycomb!

Even with a strong constitution, this was just an elite Silver Stage star beast, quickly reduced to a heap of blood and flesh on the ground.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Cheng Mu turned to thank Su Yuan.

But Su Yuan had already started his Wind Walking, charging into the sea beast crowd with the Phoenix Perch Saber.

Sea beasts, residing in the sea and enduring the pressure of the water, had incredibly dense muscles, exceptional defense, and astounding constitutions, generally stronger than land star beasts by at least fifty percent!

But given Su Yuan’s current strength to execute Space Cut, even if they were twice or thrice as strong, the result wouldn’t differ much.

Su Yuan weaved through the star beasts, each saber slash beheading them cleanly.

Such dominance soon drew some attention.

“Whose subordinate is that?! Just a Silver Stage, acting way too formidable!”

On a hillside two hundred meters away, a Silver High Stage youth magician cast skills while noticing Su Yuan deep in the beast crowd, exclaiming in surprise.

Another magician beside him looked over, equally stunned. “Aren’t they from Demon Capital Academy? This guy is savage! A Silver Stage, charging as deep as some Gold Stage captains, not worrying about getting stuck!”

“Indeed, his moves are smoother and more impressive than the Gold Stage ones!

It’s pure speed and power, not a single star beast can withstand his slash!”

As they spoke, a robust sea beast with a pointed head and colorful dorsal fin appeared behind Su Yuan.

It opened a terrifying blood bowl mouth, leaping like a shadow towards Su Yuan’s back!

“Watch out, Color-changing Sea Fin Beast!”

The Color-changing Sea Fin Beast excelled in ambushes, using color changes to hide and launching lightning-fast attacks at close range.

Recognized as one of the most dangerous sea beasts by academy students, defending the island!

It had already claimed at least thirty academy lives!

Once bitten, even Great Success’ green defensive skills might not withstand its terrible bite force!

Both young magicians’ faces changed as they raised their magic wands to cast long-range skills, but it was too late.

That far away, only Thunder Type magicians’ skills might reach.

“Watch your back!”

Despite their cries, the warning was distant and unlikely effective.

Just as the Color-changing Sea Fin Beast was about to bite Su Yuan, silver lights suddenly flickered in the void behind him.

Several ornate silver chains shot out, binding the beast mid-air!

Instantly, the ambushing sea beast was immobilized by the silver chains!

Silver Extreme Star Power surged from the trapped beast, trying to break free.

But the next moment, Su Yuan turned, his saber gleaming black as it sliced, decapitating the deadly beast effortlessly…
