Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 263: Chapter 215: Casualties of the First Battle

“What is that silver chain skill, it’s… so strong!”

As Su Yuan casually turned around and killed the Color-changing Sea Fin Beast, the two young magicians who witnessed everything from a distance were both shocked.

The Color-changing Sea Fin Beast was tied up by the silver chain, unable to move at all, truly like fish on a chopping board!

At this moment, as the Color-changing Sea Fin Beast was slain, the Sky Lock quickly retracted into the void and disappeared.

Su Yuan glanced into the distance, nodded slightly, then flickered and charged towards the next sea beast.

This scene astonished the two even more.

“Did he hear our warning?!” the taller of the two youth said in surprise.

“It seems so! I don’t know if he has a keen perception or if he used some kind of enhanced perception magic. Amazing!”

The tall one said, “Tianyu, such an expert, we must go over and meet him later!”

“Yeah, let’s deal with this group of Star Beasts first!”

…

On the sea beast side, besides the two Sea Scale Monsters, there was also an elite Gold Level Eight-legged Sea Crocodile.

On the academy student side, with the addition of the people from Demon Capital, there were as many as five Gold Levels.

Among them, Liu Congyun even had a blue Soul Card at the Gold Level!

Although there seemed to be quite a few Silver Stage sea beasts among this batch, about a hundred, the two hundred or so sea beasts that came ashore were naturally no match for nearly a hundred academy elites led by five Gold Levels.

Before long, after a brief exchange, all the sea beasts were slaughtered.

However, despite having a huge overall advantage, there were still casualties among the academy students!

One student from Demon Capital’s 34th team was careless with his movement and was dragged into the sea beasts’ ranks by the tentacles of the expandable octopus and killed.

Besides, there were also three severely injured students and nine lightly injured from Demon Capital Academy.

Among them was Cheng Mu, who had a deep wound on his abdomen caused by one of the sea beasts’ claws, and the wound seemed to have a bit of poison, making it difficult to heal.

In contrast, no student from Wanzhou Academy died, and only one was seriously injured.

In fact, based on the strength of these elite students from Demon Capital Academy, when taken alone, any of them could easily handle three or four sea beasts of the same level.

But when gathered together, despite having such an advantage, there was still a fatality and many injuries!

This was mainly due to their insufficient experience in large group chaotic battles.

If it were just a few people, up to ten, even if they were unfamiliar with each other, the Demon Capital students could quickly coordinate.

But in a chaotic battle at the hundred-person scale, faced with a disordered situation and attacks from different directions, there was too much information, changes happening too fast, and they didn’t know what to prioritize, causing their minds to spin and leading to getting injured by the sea beasts.

The ability to process information and react is also a kind of “combat ability,” which can be appropriately improved through practice.

Not only in chaotic battles, improving the ability to handle battle information would also allow for faster reactions in any future battles.

This was also one of the reasons why the Education Bureau and the Military Supervision Department Southern Military District collaborated and let the various academies bring students to guard the island. It was an excellent training opportunity.

…

“There are already deaths just after arriving…”

Although the field was full of senior students with a lot of wild combat experience, the occurrence of death right after arrival still made many Demon Capital students feel a bit heavy-hearted.

Su Yuan communicated with the Detection Communication Device to check, and his battle merit had already reached 2450 points.

“More than twenty Star Beasts, fourteen of which were at Silver Stage, it adds up,” Su Yuan nodded slightly, then began to collect the Star Cores of the Star Beasts he killed on the battlefield.

Academy students, all their gains belonged to themselves. With the help of the Detection Communication Device to record it, it’s not difficult to settle accounts, and there’s no chance of taking someone else’s share by mistake.

Watching Su Yuan expertly collect the Star Cores, some students around couldn’t help but whisper.

“That was him just now, right? He seems to have killed more than twenty sea beasts alone, and most of them were Silver Stage sea beasts!”

“Yes, I think it’s even more than Li Feng and Rong Jintu!”

“…”

Li Feng and Rong Jintu were respectively the Gold Early Stage captains of Demon Capital Academy’s 28th and 34th teams.

Among the three Gold Level sea beasts in the previous wave, the two Sea Scale Monsters were killed by two Gold Levels from Wanzhou Academy.

The remaining Eight-legged Sea Crocodile was taken by Liu Congyun.

As for Li Feng and Rong Jintu, they slaughtered the rest of the Star Beasts in large numbers, and together they killed about forty Star Beasts, but it was still less than Su Yuan.

“I noticed his movement technique is very powerful, and that knife seems particularly sharp after being enchanted, there’s nothing it can’t cut through!”

“He also seems to have a silver chain that can bind sea beasts, I don’t know if it’s a Star Device or a skill.”

“…”

Everyone discussed back and forth. Su Yuan’s expression remained unchanged, long accustomed to others’ conversations.

This time, he did not intend to hide his strength.

Hunting Star Dust was secondary. The main goal was to accumulate enough battle merits to exchange for a satisfying Space Star Card from the military arsenal.

Today’s two hundred or so sea beasts were nothing. After all, there were nearly a hundred students, and Su Yuan couldn’t fully unleash himself, it was just a warm-up.

It’s when the number of sea beasts is sufficient that he could truly let loose and harvest extensively…

“Buddy!”

Just as Su Yuan finished gathering all the Star Cores and put them into his ring, two young men called out and walked over. They were the two young magicians from a distance earlier.

The taller one introduced himself first: “Hello buddy, I am Peng Hua, and this is Liao Tianyu. We are both third-year students at Wanzhou Academy this year.”

Su Yuan sized them up. Already Silver High Stage in their third year, they were very impressive. Probably the same level as Geng Qiuyi, likely holding blue Soul Cards.

Su Yuan nodded, “Su Yuan from Demon Capital Academy, hello.”

“Hello, hello!” Peng Hua smiled and asked, “By the way, Su Yuan, did you hear our warning just now?”

“I heard a bit.”

“You really heard it?!” Both Peng Hua and Liao Tianyu were surprised, “Amazing!”

Su Yuan smiled and didn’t say much.

With his current perception ability, he could naturally sense people whose gaze stayed on him for an extended period.

So when the two reminded him, he vaguely caught their “watch out for behind” from the noisy battlefield.

Even though he had already sensed the Color-changing Sea Fin Beast attacking from behind, the two’s reminder was well-meaning, so Su Yuan nodded in their direction from afar.
