Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 273: Chapter 224 Reinforcements

Southern Islands, B-6 Island.

Light and fire intertwined in the night, and the sounds of battle and roaring broke the calm of the night.

In the darkness, large swathes of Star Beasts surged from all directions.

Despite Zhou Chao’s early warning, the two Shining Star warriors on B-6 Island, along with the island’s military warriors and academy students, were prepared.

But faced with such a massive number of Sea Beasts, everyone on the island was immediately plunged into a fierce battle.

Those who managed to return to the camp could rely on the camp’s defense barrier, but the patrol teams scattered across the island, unable to retreat, had to fight on their own, facing one danger after another.

One of the two Shining Star warriors on the island stayed in the camp leading many students to fend off the beast tide. The other guarded the “Star Tower” barrier with numerous military warriors, ensuring the barrier being set up wouldn’t be damaged.

In such a situation, even the two Shining Star warriors couldn’t handle everything.

Fortunately, due to timely communication, the Shining Star experts from surrounding islands, such as Yu Hui, rushed to B-6 Island to assist.

Besides this, military experts from the Southern Islands and beyond who noticed something amiss also began to intercept all the Sea Beasts heading towards B-6 Island.

But unexpectedly, the Sea Beasts also included Shining Star, Radiant Moon, and even rare Burning Sun-level Sea Beasts, which instead pinned down many of the military experts!

As the situation escalated, the entire Southern Islands became tense, and the Seven Coastal Cities hurriedly dispatched more experts to the Southern Islands.

“Captain, I can’t hold on anymore…”

At a certain place on the island, a four-person team struggled desperately under the siege of many beasts.

In this team of three men and one woman, apart from the boy who spoke, who was at the Silver Middle Stage, the other three were all at the Silver High Stage, with quite formidable strength.

Among them, the leader was a young man with red hair and red eyes.

A Flame Dragon coiled around him, and the Red Saber in his hand burned fiercely. Every slash grievously wounded or even killed a Silver Stage Sea Beast, showcasing his impressive strength.

Upon hearing his teammate, the red-haired young man shouted gravely, “You have to hold on or you’ll die. If you hold on, there’s a chance you’ll live!”

At this moment, another Silver High Stage young man gritted his teeth and said, “Captain, you’re stronger. Why don’t you take Little Yun and break through to the camp?”

The only girl in the team hurriedly shook her head, “No, I won’t go alone!”

The red-haired young man shouted, “Leave? No way!”

The Flame Dragon around him blazed brighter. He raised his hand and slashed. The fierce flame blade light tore through five or six Silver Stage Sea Beasts in front of him!

“Hold on. Experts from other islands are already coming to support us. The more we hold on, the better our chances!”

Hearing the red-haired young man’s words and seeing him take down a small group of Sea Beasts strongly, the other three felt a glimmer of hope emerge from their growing despair.

But only the red-haired young man knew that to ease the pressure on his three teammates, his Star Power was running low.

Facing the constant Sea Beasts, only his extremely high output could efficiently kill them in time, exhausting his Star Power rapidly.

If he slacked even a bit, the remaining three would be under immense pressure and might struggle to hold on…

He looked up at the sky, feeling heavier at heart.

Their location was relatively remote. The two Shining Star experts who just flew by rushed inward, not noticing them at all.

Or… maybe they did notice but chose not to help.

At this moment, whether it was the camp or the Star Tower barrier, there were more people needing help.

Even if they saved a scattered team, they’d have to slow down to escort a group back to the camp, with the incessant Sea Beast tide around them.

Unless the camp and Star Tower barrier were secured, most of the supporting Shining Star experts would prioritize the majority…

After another bout of fighting, the red-haired young man’s foot slipped, and he let out a muffled groan as a Rapid Flow shot pierced his left shoulder, leaving a bloody mess.

“Captain!”

Little Yun quickly pointed her Magic Wand, healing the red-haired young man’s wound with soft green light filled with vitality.

The red-haired young man’s face turned cold. Red light like a sunset shot from his blade, instantly severing the head of the Silver Master Sea Beast that had successfully launched a sneak attack.

The Sea Beast’s neck shone with a red line. Its massive head fell off accordingly!

The flying Red Saber traced an arc, returning to the red-haired young man’s hand. But at that moment, six water-light tentacles shot out from a distance!

The Red Saber’s light shone brightly, intimidating, cutting through four tentacles in a row!

But the remaining two tentacles managed to extinguish the blade’s flames and snatched it away, curling it towards the distance.

“Oh no, the captain’s saber!” The team’s faces changed.

The red-haired young man rushed forward to reclaim the saber, but many Sea Beasts blocked his way, leaving him no chance.

The red-haired young man swung his fiery fists, knocking down two Sea Beasts rushing at him, but his face grew darker.

“Decisive indeed!”

The tentacle monster had been unexpectedly decisive, sacrificing many tentacles to seize the fleeting chance to snatch his saber!

As the saber got entangled in the two tentacles, moving farther away, a black line suddenly appeared on the tentacles and effortlessly sliced through them!

Moreover, several Sea Beasts touched by the black line fell apart like tofu!

“What was that!”

The team only saw a flash of black, and several Sea Beasts dropped dead, unaware of what happened.

At that moment, a figure appeared out of thin air in the distance, catching the falling sword.

The newcomer examined the fine red saber, then glanced at the team.

“Geng Qiuyi, you seem a bit downtrodden today…”

Hearing the familiar voice, the red-haired young man’s expression faltered. He quickly turned to see a familiar figure amid the dense Sea Beasts.

“Su Yuan?!” Geng Qiuyi was overjoyed.

Moments later, a young, clean-cut youth appeared before Geng Qiuyi.

“Damn, it really is you!”

Geng Qiuyi never expected Su Yuan here. Wasn’t this mission only open to senior students?

“Of course, who else would pick up a saber for you?” Su Yuan smiled, returning the saber, “It’s good, but mine’s better.”

Su Yuan roughly examined the saber, noticing Phoenix Nirvana Stone marks. It seemed made from the stone they bid on together, slightly above mid-grade blue.

Geng Qiuyi grinned. Su Yuan wasn’t showing off but easing the tension.

But suddenly, a sharp-clawed Sea Beast lunged at Su Yuan from behind.

“Watch out!”

Su Yuan didn’t turn, raising his left hand. The Sky Lock materialized from behind, locking the space, and the Sea Beast crashed against it.

It didn’t stop. Silver chains appeared around them, blocking all surrounding Sea Beasts.

“Incredible! All blocked!”

One person using chains to block all Sea Beasts amazed Geng Qiuyi’s team.

At that moment, intense Ice Element waves surged above. Numerous prismatic Ice Crystals rained down, bombarding the Sea Beasts!

“Boom boom boom…!”

Layers of Ice Crystals exploded. Sea Beasts below Gold Level couldn’t withstand such powerful AOE skills, shattering into frozen pieces.

After the Ice Crystal Explosion ended, the area around Su Yuan’s team was intact, while nearly a hundred meters around lay in ruins, without a single living Sea Beast.

Little Yun and the team stared at the fallen Sea Beasts and the hovering Ice Dragon, then at the silver-eyed youth before them, swallowing nervously.

“Captain, who is this…?”

“Su Yuan, a friend from Demon Capital.”

“Su Yuan?” The boy looked at Su Yuan in surprise, “The one who took the Five-leaf Essence from our academy last year?”

Geng Qiuyi nodded, “That’s right.”

By now, Su Yuan had sent telepathic commands to the two Frost Giant Dragons to clear the surroundings.

“Thanks, Su Yuan! Without you, we’d be doomed!”

“Little thing, I felt a familiar presence passing by.” Su Yuan waved his hand and asked, “What’s the situation on the island?”

“Not too bad… We shortly received a warning before these Sea Beasts using Large Ghost Water Monsters launched their attack!

We were trapped here, unable to retreat in time, in grave danger.

The camp and Star Tower barrier have defense barriers and Shining Star experts, also receiving support from other islands, making it much better.

But overall, we’re understaffed. We need to hold this wave, waiting for more reinforcements.”

“It’s fortunate that other island experts noticed something. Many Sea Beasts hiding using Large Ghost Water Monsters would have killed many… or survived few!”

Geng Qiuyi didn’t know the island experts meant Su Yuan.

Su Yuan didn’t mention it, frowning, “So many are still trapped?”

“Yes, but the Communication Device’s function got jammed by Sea Monsters. We can’t contact others to check conditions specifically. Also…”

“What else…”

Geng Qiuyi pondered, “Besides attacking the camp and Star Tower barrier, more elite Star Beasts charged another place.

Otherwise, we couldn’t have held out, already overwhelmed.”

“Another place?”

Geng Qiuyi pointed to a distant direction, “Yunze Lake!”
