After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 2008: Chapter 525: Huang Hai Debuts, Tactical Revolution

Next, regardless of how many defenders Milan plays, the cut inside by the winger is definitely more familiar than pulling out wide.

But many teams have already grasped Milan’s way of playing.

In the last match against Manchester City, Mancini intensified the pressing in the middle.

Forward Dzeko and Aguero, although not retreating deeply, moved significantly between Milan’s defenders and the defensive line, allowing quick pressing on Milan’s defensive players or immediately joining the attack, with Dzeko as the pivot and Aguero participating in the organization.

Clemente’s idea of having Milan players pull out wide is quite good.

But his tactics were overly aggressive, and he didn’t give the players enough freedom, making Milan players used to Guardiola’s tactics feel very uncomfortable.

Moreover, tactics need to consider the characteristics of the players.

During Emperor Xuanzong of Qi’s UEFA Champions League three-peat at Real Madrid, multiple formations were adopted based on different players.

Real Madrid’s formation was always changing, not sticking to one approach.

Isco frequently dropped back to level with three defensive midfielders, addressing the three midfielders’ inadequate use of field width, but Isco’s stamina couldn’t sustain playing like that consistently.

Also, James’s withdrawal in the 4141.

Casemiro playing in front of the defensive line.

In fact, Zidane’s formation was very flexible.

Huang Kaiwen chose 3241, appreciating that this tactical formation aligns with Guardiola’s lineage.

On the other hand, once familiar, it can easily evolve into several similar tactics.

Even during Guardiola’s treble season, his 3241 wasn’t always effective.

Not discussing tactical details, the first issue was that the personnel lineup didn’t meet his ideal standards.

Stones in an advanced position, during the UEFA Champions League final, Inter Milan didn’t pay attention to Stones at all, because Stones’ passing level didn’t meet the tactical theoretical standards.

While in Milan, whether it is Thiago Silva or Ramos, they both can manage this well.

Football is not just about possession and movement; space is also important.

Barcelona kept passing to move the opponent, even Yellow Ball King himself dribbled to attract defense, all to create space for teammates, targeting the opponent’s weak spots.

And once defending players are settled, compressing space certainly becomes more difficult.

This requires more flexible positioning.

Still during that UEFA Champions League final, Inter Milan did well in this regard, when Manchester City launched an attack on the right flank, they pressed the right central defender up, forming a numerical balance with Manchester City’s midfield.

Brozovic didn’t specifically mark the midfield on the other side, instead acting as a mobile unit to reinforce.

At Milan, Pirlo cannot bear such a role, but Van Bommel or Rakitic, even Ramos, can become another Brozovic, using their runs to compress space, quickly reinforce defense, preventing large-scale transfers by the opponent.

With notes and sketches on paper.

Huang Kaiwen increasingly feels there is essence in Guardiola’s tactics.

Milan’s lineup can completely achieve the results he wants, but because his tactical system is somewhat advanced, the players didn’t grow up in such a system, so progress is not fast.

can be regarded as a step forward from 4231 tactically.

Benitez’s Valencia, Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund.

Both played 4231 high pressing.

In matches of those two teams, you could often see players flying up and down the pitch, using stamina for player exchanges, using stamina for space, compressing the opponent’s space.

After interception, immediately breaking forward quickly to impact the opponent’s penalty area.

Ensuring at least four defensive players during defense, even if unable to score, they won’t immediately concede either.

Fundamentally, it is opportunistic, constantly using this pressing to trade for possession and space, trying to break through the opponent’s goal, which is also why Dortmund demands high stamina from players.

Huang Kaiwen also cannot have Milan’s big stars play like that.

van Persie and Ibrahimovic, Torres are all active in pressing, but making them do that all the time, not just the players, but even fans and the coaches of their national teams wouldn’t accept it.

These stars are capable of changing matches, with such a lineup you don’t have to play like a struggle.

Huang Kaiwen quickly made a decision.

Utilize the flanks!

High pressing requires compressing space in small areas, so it’s difficult to spread the formation wide.

Milan should reduce some pressing, spread the formation out, letting players find opportunities through cooperation.

During continuous passing, if the opponent is careless, explosive players like Kaka, Torres can suddenly start bursting through the opponent’s defense.

Even if unable to break the goal, it can attract a lot of defensive attention.

As long as the ball is transferred away afterward, it’s easy to create chances.

Several of Milan’s midfielders have the ability to cut forward to receive and send through passes.

Moreover, this has another advantage.

It compensates for the players’ individual ability deficiencies.

You can’t always find players like Robben or Messi who cut in.

But finding a wing player who can take the ball isn’t too difficult.

After sorting through his thoughts, Huang Kaiwen set the strategy of expanding the width and midfield penetration.

It’s not that players can’t cut in, but the main direction is like this, if Kaka suddenly cuts in and scores from a long shot, Yellow Ball King wouldn’t blame him, right?

Once players familiarize themselves with the lineup, they can completely choose to expand the width or compress space based on the situation on the field.

It’s similar to how Zidane’s multiple formations constantly change.

An excited Huang Kaiwen began deciding the starting lineup for this formation.
