After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!

Chapter 2007: Chapter 525: Kevin Huang Debuts, Tactical Revolution

Old Maldini steps forward.

This is the best solution.

His status in Italy and in Milan is very special.

His son hasn’t let him down; instead, he’s brought honor to the family.

There may be stars that surpass Old Maldini or Paolo Maldini, but it’s hard for any family to surpass the status of the Maldini family in a club.

Immediately, Milan holds a press conference.

Gagliani sits beside Cesare Maldini.

Gagliani excitedly announces: ”Milan is the first UEFA Champions League winner from Italy, and the person beside me was the captain of that Milan team. He made outstanding contributions as a coach, and cultivated those young players in the Italy youth team who won the Hercules Cup for the Italy national team. We are thrilled to announce that during Pep’s absence, Cesare Maldini will be the acting coach of the team!”

Boom—

This news was earth-shattering.

No one expected the 79-year-old Old Maldini to return and become Milan’s temporary coach.

”Mr. Gagliani, is this a decision by Milan’s executives?”

”Cesare, what prompted you to make this decision?”

”You’ve been away from football for many years; can you adapt to today’s football?”

”Did AC Milan make this decision in hopes of having someone assume responsibility to weaken the prestige of the Maldini family?”

”If Cesare is dismissed, who will be the next coach?”

The journalists were too excited!

The surname Maldini just stands for news.

Lately, they’ve been reporting on Cristian Maldini going to China to play esports.

Unexpectedly, Cristian’s grandfather also made big news.

Gagliani smiled and said: ”This is something we’ve carefully considered. Taking over Milan at this time is indeed risky, but we need someone to step up, and obviously, Cesare is that person.”

Old Maldini immediately said: ”I know there are many doubts, and I’m not that confident myself, but Milan is caught in a whirlpool, and I’m willing to try, using everything I have to defend the club’s dignity. As for those conspiracy theories, let’s not talk about them; this is something I want to do myself.”

”Who will be your assistant, Mr. Maldini?”

The reporter pressed for more.

”I won’t assemble my own coaching team; Pep’s team has enough personnel, even Kevin is among them.”

Old Maldini said with a smile.

He deliberately mentioned Huang Kaiwen’s name last.

Although Huang Kaiwen, Gagliani’s intent is not to have him take responsibility.

But he also wants to see Huang Kaiwen’s coaching skills.

If Huang Kaiwen really isn’t up to it, he might as well take the blame; after all, Guardiola will be back soon, and it won’t be too bad.

The key is not to ruin Huang Kaiwen’s reputation.

”So, what about Milan’s tactics next?”

A reporter asked.

”I forgot about that.”

Old Maldini said: ”I need to meet the boys first and then decide on the team’s tactics. Today’s press conference ends here.”

Leaving the press conference site.

Cesare Maldini said: ”The journalists’ enthusiasm is really overwhelming.”

”That’s because they have high expectations for you.”

Gagliani said with a smile.

Huang Kaiwen, who went home early, didn’t watch the press conference but instead shut himself in the study.

Though he had prepared a lot for this day.

But when the moment came, he realized more needed to be done.

Everything else is a small matter.

The first thing is to determine the team’s tactics.

Last year Borussia Dortmund beat Bayern to win the title, relying on Klopp’s system.

For a long time, the formations of top teams will be higher and higher.

Clashes between top teams become pressure and counterpressure, pressing and breaking the press.

Guardiola’s approach in Milan and Barca is almost the same, so from this point, you can see he truly has an eye.

Luckily, Guardiola’s tactical innovations are traceable.

The previous season, Milan was also familiar with Guardiola’s tactics; the training direction was largely similar.

So Huang Kaiwen thinks he can use even more advanced tactics than Guardiola’s current ones—3241!

From Barca to Bayern.

Pep always liked inverted wingers, sometimes playing without a striker.

Also, full-backs cutting in, Lahm’s transformation into a midfielder, and other maneuvers.

Freely mocked by Bayern fans.

After all, they didn’t win the UEFA Champions League.

But according to Lahm personally, he accepted Guardiola’s transformation, and Robben also delivered an outstanding performance during that time.

The use of wingers greatly influences the tactical system.

Though Kaka plays on the right with the correct foot, in reality, his style is cutting inside.

Both wings cut inside, increasing the number of players in the center, while space gets squeezed.

During the Manchester City period, the two wingers hugged the sideline, leaving huge gaps in the channels for midfielders like De Bruyne, Gundogan to pass and move, while full-backs cut inside and join the midfielder to control and defend.

Milan’s condition had Guardiola making some references to Barca.

Tactically, it’s quite similar to his early period at Bayern.

Yellow Ball King and Kaka flying down the wings, forwards pushing to press against the defensive line, midfielders coming up to work with cutting-in wingers, looking for opportunities in front of the opponent’s box.

It’s just that due to Yellow Ball King’s personal abilities being so strong, often there’s no need to pass repeatedly in front of the opponent’s defensive line, so Milan’s games don’t appear that sleep-inducing.

Essentially, Guardiola still hasn’t completely departed from Barca’s tactical system.
