Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1543: Chapter 1542: Measure Yourself and Others

The violent, bloodthirsty negative emotions on Seal Demon’s body surged once again.

”I wish to slay everyone under the heavens...” he said coldly.

”Hahaha...” Hearing this, Lin Dong laughed loudly, ”No, you do not. What you really wish is to slay all the evil people under the heavens!”

Speaking of this, Lin Dong solemnly said,

”I too have complained about this world, lamented how unjust it has been towards me.”

”Complained that the world never allowed me to see my father from a young age; complained that the world subjected me to so much suffering since childhood.”

”When I learned that my relatives, when I was a child, wanted to drain all my blood and exchange my bone marrow with my cousin’s, making everything about me into my cousin’s wedding clothes, at that moment, I too had a fleeting thought... If the world is so dark, then let it be destroyed!”

”Yet that thought was merely fleeting. Because I know that the world isn’t just darkness; it has another side, light!”

”Who doesn’t hate darkness? Who doesn’t hate betrayal? Who doesn’t hate suffering?”

”And what I need to do is not to destroy this entire world, but to slay all the evil people under the heavens!”

”Who created my darkness? I kill!”

”Who betrayed me! I kill!”

”Who brought about my suffering and misfortune. I kill!”

”I cultivate a heart sword; this sword, it has my bloodthirst and cruelty, it has my darkness and gloom, it also contains my inner demons... but this sword, it is not used to slay everyone under the heavens. Rather, it is used to slay all the evil people under the heavens!”

Buzz!!

At that moment, it was as if Seal Demon’s soul was struck by thunder. That moment, he stared blankly at Lin Dong.

It turns out, everyone has inner demons.

It turns out, everyone has a violent, bloodthirsty side.

”I too have cultivated a heart sword, but this sword had always been lost before. The master taught me Yangxin, but I cultivated the wrong sword. One mistake lasted three hundred years!” Seal Demon said with a bitter smile.

”If you feel that you have cultivated the wrong sword, then start cultivating anew.” Lin Dong sipped another glass of Three Hundred Year Red Daughter and laughingly said,

”What does a mere three hundred springs and autumns count for? The heart sword I cultivate is aimed at ten thousand years, eternity!”

”Good, good! What a ten thousand years, what an eternity!” At that moment, Seal Demon suddenly burst into laughter.

Three Hundred Year Red Daughter, he drank a cup in one gulp.

Then he asked Lin Dong, ”I still do not know your esteemed name.”

”My surname is Lin, a simple ’Dong’! I do not deserve the honorific of ’Mister.’”

Seal Demon laughingly said, ”In my eyes, those worthy of ’Mister’ are only you and my master!”

”Mister’s greatness, not related to age! It is apparent, even though you are only in your twenties, you have lived more enlightened than this centuries-old fellow.”

Lin Dong responded, ”Senior flatters me.”

”Haha, come, let me pour you another cup of wine. Today, we drink and wield swords, a toast to the serenade!” Seal Demon said and poured another cup of Three Hundred Year Red Daughter for Lin Dong.

This wine, he would usually not drink a drop the whole year.

But today, he was willing to drink it all.

After pouring the wine for Lin Dong, he asked, ”Mister, do you like the sword?”

”Of course, the sword is the king of all weapons; for someone like me, who practices martial arts, how could there be justifiable disinterest?” Lin Dong replied.

”Then, shall we discuss the Kendo next? I shall perform a sword dance for Mister first!”

He finished speaking and stood up.

”Sword, come forth!”

No sooner had these words been spoken than the ninety-nine swords embedded in the fifth floor of the Pagoda began to tremble and buzz.

Subsequently, all the swords drew themselves from their scabbards. They flew around the walls, each sword possessing its own attributes, characteristics, and aura.

”I have practiced swordsmanship for four hundred years, and in my lifetime, I have used ninety-nine swords, all of which are now here.”

”In my eyes, each sword is as if it is alive. I can understand their whispers, and they can understand what I’m thinking.”

”When I wish to kill, they reveal a bloodthirsty and violent aura, joining me in battle through the nine heavens!”

”When I am lonely, they tremble in their blades as if to comfort me.”

”The sword is the most trusted friend in my life!”

He was there, sharing his insights into Kendo, while Lin Dong listened attentively.

He knew that although Seal Demon talked about drinking and discussing swords with him, his actual intention was to use this opportunity to teach him sword techniques.

Although Lin Dong also knew some sword techniques, like the previously utilized ’Chopping Sky Sword Technique’ and the ’Drifting Snow Sword’ that he had secretly learned from Qingye Piaoxue, how could these compare with Seal Demon, a ninth-level master swordsman who had honed his craft for four hundred years?

”So, to handle a good sword, the first step is to recognize the sword and let the sword recognize you! Only then can you wield the strongest power of swordsmanship!”

”When you and it become one, then using any sword technique will be effortless.”

At this point, he concentrated his Inner Qi in both hands and pointed at one of the ninety-nine wooden swords.

”Flying Sword Art!” Seal Demon yelled, and the wooden sword flew out, directed by Seal Demon into a soaring sword maneuver.

The speed was as fast as lightning!

”Back then, it was this wooden sword I used for practicing the Flying Sword Art. After mastering it, I used this wooden sword to decapitate a foe three hundred miles away!”

Lin Dong watched intently, memorizing the key points of using the Flying Sword Art.

Meanwhile, he motioned.

In his Dragon Ring, he also had a peach wooden sword, the first sword he had ever wielded, drawn only once and having killed one person with it.

Now, he took out that peach wooden sword and used it to practice the sword technique.

”Flying Sword Art!” Lin Dong observed the other’s demonstration for less than half an incense stick’s time and then began his attempt, succeeding on his first try.

The peach wooden sword flew under his control.

Seeing this, Seal Demon praised him highly, ”You truly are gifted. To think you mastered the Flying Sword Art in just half an incense stick’s time!”

”With such talent, no wonder you achieved the strength of a level-eight Grandmaster in your early twenties.”

However, his mindset was much better than that of the Henglian Grandmaster Meng Tian and the Elder Monk.

Although surprised by Lin Dong’s talent, he was not disheartened at all.

He continued demonstrating other sword techniques.

”Yin Yang Sword Technique!” he yelled, and two iron swords, one long and one short, flew towards him.

He then started demonstrating this Yin Yang Sword Technique.

Like the Tai Chi sword, it changed between Yin and Yang, elusive and unpredictable.

Lin Dong continued to observe, learning the sword technique from Seal Demon.

Meanwhile, in the outer world, unbeknownst to them, since Lin Dong had entered the fifth level of the Martial Arts Tower, a day and night had already passed.

The four Elders of the Martial Arbiters, along with Cao Yuan, all furrowed their brows.

”What’s going on with Dragon Lord now? It’s been a day and a night, and he has neither come out nor has there been any indication of a successful challenge,” Cao Yuan was extremely puzzled.
