Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1517: Chapter 1516: An Impossible Task?

Among the Traditional Chinese Medical Experts who came to the scene, there were roughly more than three hundred people, all significant figures in Dragon Country’s Medical Circle.

They were the crème de la crème of Dragon Country’s Traditional Chinese Medicine, and today they all came to listen to Lin Dong’s lecture, clad in long robes.

The reason they wore long robes was that in Ancient Dragon Country, Traditional Chinese Medical Experts dressed in long robes.

It was similar to the White gowns worn by Western Doctors in the West.

Now, these approximately three hundred Traditional Chinese Medical Experts in long robes all stood up simultaneously, their collective momentum not to be underestimated.

”Leader Lin,” everyone greeted with a cupped-hand salute, addressing Lin Dong.

Lin Dong nodded, then laughingly said to everyone, ”Ladies and gentlemen, could you please demonstrate your superb Acupuncture Technique to the world?”

”Of course, no problem.” The three hundred plus Traditional Chinese Medical Experts in long robes nodded in unison.

However, they were curious as to how they were going to present their skills.

The other overseas Medical Experts also looked towards Lin Dong with curiosity.

”I wonder how Divine Doctor Lin will present your Dragon Country’s Acupuncture? We have already seen too much fancy stuff online,” a Western Doctor laughed.

Another individual said, ”The last time, I saw online a person claiming to be a descendant of Hua Tuo demonstrating his Acupuncture. When he applied the needles, they actually emitted golden dragons, and the surface of the Silver Needles even produced flames... I was so amazed, I took a leading Reporter from our authoritative medical journal, The Lancet, to interview him.”

”Then I found out it was all special effects. At that moment, I felt like a complete fool. Divine Doctor Lin, please don’t be like that guy.”

Lin Dong, hearing the comments from the overseas Medical Experts, chuckled lightly and said, ”Since we are demonstrating the ability of Acupuncture to cure diseases.”

”Then naturally, it means treating patients on the spot!”

At this point, he turned to the President of the Capital City’s hospital, the organizer, and said, ”Dean Liu Bo, could you please find over three hundred patients from your hospital to participate as subjects in this Acupuncture demonstration?”

”Certainly,” Dean Liu Bo replied.

He then quickly went to their hospital to summon over three hundred patients to come over.

For a top national big hospital like the Capital City’s hospital, outpatient visits can reach over ten thousand a day, and they can accommodate over two thousand inpatients at any one time. Therefore, finding over three hundred patients to come over was indeed too simple.

When they heard that top experts from Dragon Country were going to treat them, the patients seeking treatment at the Capital City’s hospital clamored to sign up.

Instantly, over nine thousand patients enrolled!

Dean Liu Bo reported this to Lin Dong.

”Chief Lin, there have been over nine thousand sign-ups, shall we select over three hundred patients from them?”

Lin Dong gestured with his hand, ”Today, we will treat them all! Let them come in batches, over three hundred at a time. If we don’t finish treating these nine thousand plus patients today, the lecture won’t end!”

Hearing this, Dean Liu Bo was overjoyed, ”Okay, I will tell the patients right away.”

Soon after, Dean Liu Bo conveyed this to the patients.

Naturally, the patients were thrilled to hear this.

In the Oncology Department’s VIP sickroom, at the moment, Chu Yunxiu was accompanying Aunt Zhang.

”Aunt Zhang, today many experts have come to the Capital City’s hospital for a medical conference. Just now, the President informed me that these experts want to provide free medical care to patients. I just signed you up, and in a moment I will take you to let those experts treat your illness,” said Chu Yunxiu to Aunt Zhang.

After hearing this, Aunt Zhang could not help but say, ”Should I call my dear husband, son, and daughter first? I want to ask for their opinion; what if these experts are frauds? What if they ask for a lot of medical fees?”

When Aunt Zhang heard this, she eagerly replied, ”Aunt Zhang, in this life, you’ve been too submissive to your husband, as well as your son and daughter. You listen to them in everything. That’s why you live such a tired life! At such a young age, you’ve exhausted yourself into a terminal illness.”

”They have a lot of wrong ideas. Why do you listen to them? You have to have your own opinions.”

”Those experts are the top experts in Dragon Country. Do you think they would deceive you? Would they really abandon their reputation just to cheat you out of a little money?”

”Just relax and come with me. Let’s go to those experts and have them treat your illness. Perhaps, they may even cure you.”

Aunt Zhang was tempted upon hearing this.

Just as Chu Yunxiu had said, she was indeed too weak, always listening to her husband, son, and daughter, to the extent that she had worked hard for them her entire life without ever enjoying a single day of happiness.

Take last night, for instance; she had even overheard her husband and children whispering that if it got too expensive, they would give up on her treatment. When she heard this, she truly felt a desire to die.

At the moment, after hearing Chu Yunxiu’s words, she gritted her teeth and said, ”Yun Xiu, you’re right. I should live for myself for once.”

”Okay, this time I’ll listen to you. Let’s go find those experts to treat me...”

And just like that, Aunt Zhang, too, was led by Chu Yunxiu to join the queue, to participate in this free treatment!

Meanwhile, in the multifunctional lecture hall, when Lin Dong had announced his plan to treat over nine thousand patients, the experts from overseas developed an attitude of looking forward to a good laugh.

”Divine Doctor Lin really talks big, huh. He actually wants to cure over nine thousand people? Heh, with their three hundred Traditional Chinese Medical Experts, can they cure nine thousand people within just half a day?”

”And among these nine thousand people, there are many with terminal illnesses like cancer. How will they cure these people? With Acupuncture Technique?”

”With over nine thousand patients, a number so large, there are bound to be some rare diseases. How will they treat these rare diseases? With acupuncture as well?”

”This is completely impossible.”

”Just wait and watch the joke unfold.”

”This Divine Doctor Lin is still too young, too naive in his actions. He must have thought that he could use this opportunity to make the world recognize Dragon Country Acupuncture. But clearly, the end result will inevitably be disappointing.”

”...”

These people thought so in their hearts, with some even voicing their thoughts directly.

Qin Yitian looked at this and also shook his head, and even she couldn’t keep a good face.

Even many officials from Dragon Country weren’t optimistic, feeling that Chief Lin had been impulsive.

They had wanted to speak out and discourage him, but found that those three hundred Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners in long robes all had resolute looks in their eyes, with not a single one showing any signs of backing down.

Seeing this, the words of persuasion they wanted to say were swallowed back down.

If it were one person so confident, you could question him!

But now, over three hundred of Dragon Country’s top Traditional Chinese Medical Experts are all so confident. If you still question them, wouldn’t that be a lack of confidence in Traditional Chinese Medicine? A lack of confidence in your own country’s culture?

At this moment, they too were infected by the determination of these three hundred plus Traditional Chinese Medical Experts in long robes. Their skeptical eyes slowly became resolute.

Lin Dong, at this moment, also said to these three hundred plus Traditional Chinese Medical Experts in long robes, ”Everyone, do we have confidence in curing these nine thousand people within half a day using Dragon Country Acupuncture Technique?”

”Haha, perhaps the foreign medical experts in the audience all think at this moment that Chief Lin is young and reckless. But I, Li Changsheng, am willing to be young and reckless once more with Chief Lin?” Li Changsheng laughed hysterically.

All the others also spoke up:

”We, the Traditional Chinese Medical Experts, are also willing to be young and reckless once with Chief Lin, betting our reputation!”

Lin Dong was moved and bowed deeply to everyone.
