Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1538: Chapter 1537: Free and Easy!

”Wow, this is a fusion of Internal and External Styles of Kung Fu! And they are all at the Grandmaster level!”

”And it’s Tai Chi and Baji!”

At that moment, the usually nonchalant Elder Monk suddenly showed a surprising expression on his face, looking very startled.

He was a Grandmaster of Internal Fist!

And he was an expert in the national art of Internal Fist at the Grandmaster level, mastering three forms!

They were Bagua Palm, Xingyi Fist, and Crane Fist!

And he could fuse any two of them.

Previously, his fusion of two Grandmaster-level Internal Fist styles had almost made him invincible among his peers.

Of course, he had encountered challengers before who had used a fusion of two Internal Fists or two External Fists.

For instance, Elder Chen, the leader of the Six Elders this year, could fuse two Internal Fists... However, he had never encountered someone like Lin Dong who fused Grandmaster-level Internal and External Fists.

This was the first time!

”Kid, you really surprised me,” the Elder Monk said. ”However, I’d also like to see whether fusing two Internal Fists is stronger, or fusing one Internal Fist with one External Fist is!”

At this point, he launched his fused strike.

Lin Dong retaliated, also throwing out his Tai Chi and Baji fused strike!

”Boom!”

When their fists collided, Lin Dong stood firm.

As for the Elder Monk, he was sent flying backward.

”Bang bang bang!” After being sent flying, he stumbled a few steps before finally stabilizing.

This was because Lin Dong had somewhat held back; otherwise, it wouldn’t have just sent the monk stumbling.

It would have slammed him directly into the wall!

After finally stabilizing himself, the Elder Monk took a deep breath and, staring at Lin Dong, said,

”Kid, this fusion of Internal and External Fist styles is actually terrifying. It’s much more powerful than a mere fusion of either style alone,” the Elder Monk exclaimed.

”Senior, want to learn? I can teach you,” Lin Dong offered with a shrug.

The Elder Monk was indeed somewhat tempted.

”I had always thought that Internal Fist was more profound and unfathomable than External Fist, so for hundreds of years, I focused solely on cultivating Internal Fist. I became a Grandmaster of the generation.”

”But now, it seems that whether it’s Internal or External Fist, both have their unique strengths. Neither is definitively superior to the other.”

”Even more so, the fusion of Internal and External Fists can lead to unexpected results.”

”So, Senior, do you want to learn?” Lin Dong asked again with a smile.

”Learn, of course I want to learn,” the Elder Monk replied, his initial playful nonchalance returning as he spoke with a grin.

”Cough cough...” Lin Dong coughed dryly and cheekily responded with the words the Elder Monk had used earlier: ”You can learn, but my time is limited.”

”You only have the duration of one incense stick to learn, and whether you can get it will depend on your own comprehension.”

”Pff—” The Elder Monk almost spat out blood.

”You really aren’t willing to suffer any loss, are you, kid?”

”Haha, Senior, just kidding,” Lin Dong laughingly said. ”Do you have paper and a pen?”

The Elder Monk grinned, suddenly quite fond of this kid.

His personality really suited his taste!

He hurriedly went to fetch paper and pen, and Lin Dong began to write.

He wrote down over a dozen External Fist cultivation methods.

Such as Baji, Hung Gar, Tongbei, Chopping Palm, and more.

Most importantly, he also wrote down his insights on the fusion of Internal and External Fists.

After reading all this, the Elder Monk exclaimed joyfully, ”Hahaha, great, great. It seems I, the old monk, have something to keep me busy now.”

He had been in the Third floor of the Pagoda for hundreds of years, refining his Internal Fist to fiery purity and had grown increasingly bored by the day.

Now, there was a new external style of Kung Fu that could be practiced, and it could even be integrated with the internal style. For him, this meant that things would no longer be monotonous in the future.

At this moment, he also remembered another thing.

”Kid, I’ll write down the key points of the ’Dragon Breath’ cultivation for you,” the Elder Monk said.

After all, having received Lin Dong’s insights into the Martial Way, he thought of returning the favor to Lin Dong.

Seeing Lin Dong’s previous interest in the ’Dragon Breath,’ he decided to share his years of insights on cultivating the Dragon Breath with Lin Dong.

Lin Dong was delighted, ”Thank you, Senior.”

”Why be so polite! This is simply a case of reciprocating favors!” the Elder Monk said with a smile.

Then, he also wrote down the cultivation insights for ’Dragon Breath’.

He wrote a full three pages!

After reading it once, Lin Dong committed it to memory.

After the second reading, he already had some insights.

By the third reading, he had already started to cultivate.

”If you wish to preserve your body, first calm your mind. Qi is the mother of the spirit, and the spirit is the child of qi. If both the spirit and qi are preserved, one will live forever...”

”Hidden as nothingness, visible as the dragon, moving across the world, hiding between heaven and earth. Concealed in the sea of clouds, hidden among the nine heavens...”

Lin Dong’s breath became increasingly faint, seemingly turning his body into a ’Hidden Dragon’. Even though his body was large, he could hide among the sea of clouds and the heavens.

When he wished to conceal himself, even though he was as vast as a dragon, he could still hide unnoticed in the bustling city.

As his understanding deepened, his aura became increasingly faint.

Finally, just like an ordinary person, there was no trace of any martial artist’s aura about him. It was just like when Lin Dong first saw the Elder Monk.

The Elder Monk was dumbstruck.

”You... You’ve learned Dragon Breath?!!” The Elder Monk’s shock was immeasurable.

What kind of freak was he?

It took the Elder Monk thirty years to succeed, yet this person managed to master it in just a brief moment?

Yet, Lin Dong did not respond, as he continued to immerse himself in his enlightenment.

He realized that ’Dragon Breath’ was far more than just concealing his own breath.

It could both conceal and reveal itself, controllable at will!

At that moment, Lin Dong felt as though he had turned into a ’Hidden Dragon’ amongst the clouds. When he exerted his full power to hide, he could conceal himself within the sea of clouds, turning into nothingness, rendering him undetectable by anyone.

Furthermore, he was also trying to control himself.

His ’Hidden Dragon’ in the clouds slowly began to reveal and enlarge itself.

Lin Dong’s breath also started to rise slowly.

Lin Dong could freely control the ’Hidden Dragon’ in his mind.

Externally, Lin Dong could freely control his own breath.

He could maintain his aura at the Grandmaster level. The breath emitted would stay at that level.

He could also control his breath to remain at the realm of a Half-Step Earth Realm martial artist.

He could even control his aura to stay between the first and eighth segments of any Grandmaster level.

The Elder Monk, dumbstruck, watched this unfold.

”What... what kind of freak is this? I only taught you how to hide your breath, and you, on the other hand, can freely control your aura! I haven’t even grasped that myself.” The Elder Monk couldn’t help but curse.

At this moment, Lin Dong had finished his cultivation and, hearing the Elder Monk muttering, couldn’t help but ask,

”Senior, what did you say?”

The Elder Monk then realized that he had broken his precept by swearing.

He quickly put his hands together, saying, ”Amitabha, well said, well said. What I just mentioned, Junior Benefactor, is that you truly are the reincarnation of Buddha with extraordinary comprehension.”

Lin Dong smiled slightly, ”Senior, monks shouldn’t speak falsely.”

”Hahaha...” the Elder Monk laughed awkwardly, changing the subject, ”Alright, young man, you have now passed the third stage, and you can move upstairs to the fourth stage.”
