Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 382: Chapter 382: A Bad Influence

Lin Dong, bringing Tan Ya with him, arrived at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department.

He discovered Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department was situated on the most out-of-the-way floor among all departments.

Moreover, it was also the weakest department in the entire Hospital.

Actually, this is not exclusive to Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital but is the case in many hospitals.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine departments cannot compare to those of the Western doctors.

This is due to the current environment, where everyone’s first choice for medical treatment is Western medicine.

Furthermore, hospitals also promote Western medicine more, as various medical instruments and examinations can bring enormous profits to the hospital.

How could Traditional Chinese Medicine compete with that?

Although Lin Dong was prepared for this, he was still shocked when he saw the condition of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department after he arrived.

An esteemed Grade III Hospital’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, the entire department actually had only ten beds.

There were quite a number of doctors though, about ten!

When Lin Dong entered the office of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, he heard a woman’s voice.

She was actually live broadcasting medical consultations online!

Lin Dong did not enter right away but stood at the door watching her.

”Everyone, you actually don’t need to come to the hospital for consultations. Just watch online.”

”I am the Deputy Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department at Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital. For a consultation with me, you only need 200 yuan.”

”Think about how troublesome it is to visit the hospital for a consultation, where just a simple examination could cost you several thousand yuan?”

”...”

Seeing that Huang Meihua was engaging in a live broadcast during work hours, Lin Dong frowned deeply.

He found that this doctor, holding the prestigious position of Deputy Director, was truly tarnishing the medical profession.

It wasn’t because she was live broadcasting her consultations.

If she were genuinely offering real consultations to people, that might be excusable.

But that wasn’t the case here.

Lin Dong stayed at the door behind her for a good ten minutes, observing how she ’consulted’ patients in her live broadcast room.

She wasn’t practicing medicine at all; she was blatantly flaunting herself!

Despite being a doctor, she was dressed in provocative low-cut clothing, exuding a worldly air.

Her so-called ’treatments’ consisted of using suggestive language to tease viewers and encourage them to reward her.

She even declared that a reward of one thousand yuan would get them her contact information for a private chat about ’medical consultations.’

Lin Dong could not stand it anymore.

He walked in, tapped her on the shoulder, and said, ”Do you really think you deserve to be a doctor? You’re truly defiling this sacred profession.”

Huang Meihua, who was chatting with the top contributor in her live room, turned around abruptly when interrupted.

Seeing a young doctor in a white gown, she disdainfully said, ”What’s that got to do with you? Mind your own business!”

Lin Dong replied icily, ”Since you enjoy being a live anchor so much, you should just quit being a doctor and go home to focus on your broadcasting.”

”You are now dismissed from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department!”

This woman clearly did not recognize Lin Dong. She hadn’t attended previous hospital meetings, and she was unaware that Lin Dong had been promoted to Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department.

Seeing Lin Dong’s youth, she believed he was just another young doctor in the hospital.

Such young doctors were not someone she’d take seriously.

She scoffed, ”Who are you to tell me what to do? Do you think you’re someone important?”

”And dismissing me? You think you can do that?”

”Believe it or not, with just one phone call, I could have you fired in no time?”

Lin Dong asked coldly, ”You want to fire me?”

”You think I can’t do it?” Huang Meihua scoffed. ”Do you even know who I am?”

”Oh? Who are you to act so arrogantly? You’re corrupting the image of traditional Chinese medicine by broadcasting during work hours, and now you dare threaten to dismiss me?” Lin Dong asked, holding back his rage.

”You don’t even know who I am; you must be new here, right?” Huang Meihua pursed her lips, even more dismissive of Lin Dong.

Then, she directly took out her phone.

She immediately made a call.

This call was to Huang Wende, the Vice President of the hospital.

Huang Wende, Vice President of Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital, Huang Hua’s uncle, Director of the Neurosurgery Department, Huang Wude’s elder brother.

Also, Huang Meihua’s father.

After the call connected, Huang Meihua spoke to Huang Wende:

”Dad, I want to dismiss someone.”

Huang Wende furrowed his brows on the other end of the phone, ”Dismiss who? What happened?”

”A young doctor who has recently joined our hospital. He has offended me,” Huang Meihua said.

Huang Wende didn’t ask further, as dismissing a new young doctor from the hospital was nothing but a word from him as Vice President.

”Alright, if he’s just a young doctor, then dismiss him,” Huang Wende nodded. ”What’s his name?”

Huang Meihua hadn’t known Lin Dong’s name until that moment. Now she looked upon the name tag on Lin Dong’s white gown.

The tag bore Lin Dong’s name.

After seeing clearly, Huang Meihua responded, ”Dad, his name is Lin Dong!”

”Lin... Lin what?”

”Lin Dong.”

”Pop!” Upon hearing the name Lin Dong, Huang Wende was so startled he almost dropped his phone to the ground.

He hastily said, ”Apologize to him right away. This Lin Dong is not someone to mess with.”

”I’m coming right now!”

After saying that, he hung up the phone and hurried toward the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department.

As for Huang Meihua, she felt uneasy.

She thought, why did her father change his attitude so drastically upon hearing the name ’Lin Dong’?

Could it be that this time she had truly hit an iron plate?
