Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 381: Chapter 381: I Should Have Chosen Him as a Teacher from the Start

Zhang Yao’s face was slapped by Huang Hua, and, feeling wronged, she covered her cheek with her hand.

Though she didn’t dare to talk back, her eyes still conveyed her discontent.

”What, you’re still not convinced? Apologize to Director Lin Dong and Doctor Tan Ya immediately!” Huang Hua shouted.

She had been slapped, and now she was asked to apologize. Zhang Yao had never suffered such humiliation.

She retorted to Huang Hua, ”Even though you are my mentor, you don’t have the qualification or rights to make me do this.”

”What, don’t I even have the right to speak anymore?”

Huang Hua was so infuriated by her that he urgently kept giving her hints with his eyes.

Has this idiot student not been watching the news lately?

Didn’t she see the news about Lin Dong becoming the leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and defeating Elder Wang Wang Taisui?

How could she dare to say such things in front of Lin Dong?

But it was as if Zhang Yao was oblivious to the hints Huang Hua was giving her.

One could only say that ignorance indeed knows no fear.

At that moment, Lin Dong walked over to Zhang Yao, stopped about half a meter away from her, and halted.

Frightened by Lin Dong’s imposing presence, Zhang Yao stepped back repeatedly and hurriedly said,

”You... you wouldn’t also want to hit someone, would you?”

Lin Dong replied coldly, ”I won’t hit you. I just want to tell you that you have the right to speak but that does not mean you can freely slander and spread rumors!”

”You’re probably upset because Tan Ya is on the hospital’s list for a regular position and you, Zhang Yao, are not, leading to jealousy against Tan Ya.”

”Your own mind is filthy, making you believe that Tan Ya’s position is thanks to me!”

”But when you say such things, why don’t you examine your conscience, and look at the gap between you and Tan Ya during your internships?”

”Tan Ya has been diligent and conscientious, and after six months of internship, her medical skills have significantly improved, already comparable to some of the young regular doctors who have just joined us. Look at you, three days drying the nets and two days fishing, always thinking about underhanded tricks.”

”The things you’ve learned can barely be counted on one hand. With your performance, forget about staying at a Grade III Hospital like Renmin Hospital—it’s a question whether you can even pass the internship assessment!”

Zhang Yao was rendered speechless by Lin Dong’s words.

Actually, she knew in her heart that Lin Dong was right. But she just felt so sour.

She and Tan Ya were classmates, and she had always looked down on Tan Ya. Yet, now Tan Ya was a student of Director Lin Dong and even secured a position in the hospital.

Just because of these two points, Tan Ya’s future was definitely going to be brighter than hers.

In life, many people are like this; they can be okay not making money, not being successful, but the moment they hear someone they know has made a fortune or skyrocketed to success, it feels worse than death.

Her current mentality was just like that.

”Hurry up and apologize to Tan Ya!” Lin Dong demanded, ”Otherwise, I will make you regret it! Your teacher, Huang Hua, knows what I’m capable of! If you refuse to apologize, you can try me!”

To someone like Zhang Yao, Lin Dong didn’t leave any room for face.

If she didn’t apologize today, Lin Dong had plenty of ways to deal with her.

Huang Hua quickly pulled Zhang Yao, urging her, ”Zhang Yao, won’t you apologize quickly?”

While speaking, he kept giving her meaningful looks.

Feeling somewhat scared, Zhang Yao bowed her head and apologized to Tan Ya.

”I’m sorry!”

Tan Ya waved her hands awkwardly in response.

Seeing that Zhang Yao had obediently apologized, Lin Dong let her off.

He then turned to Tan Ya without paying further attention to Zhang Yao and asked,

”Tan Ya, I am now moving to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, would you like to work there with me?”

”Of course,” Tan Ya immediately responded, aware of how skilled Teacher Lin Dong was in medicine, naturally wanting to follow him.

Lin Dong nodded and took Tan Ya with him that day, leaving the Department of Cardiology for the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department.

After they left, Huang Hua called Zhang Yao into his office alone.

He asked, ”Zhang Yao, what have you been doing lately? Haven’t you been following medical news?”

”News?” Zhang Yao shook her head, saying, ”I’ve recently gotten a boyfriend; I haven’t had the time for news!”

Huang Hua opened the news about Lin Dong becoming the leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine and defeating Wang Taisui in the Medical Competition, showing it to Zhang Yao.

After reading it, Zhang Yao’s mouth gaped wide open, enough to fit a duck egg.

”This... Doctor Lin Dong, how is he so incredible!” Zhang Yao was truly shocked.

Of course, the more remarkable Lin Dong was, the more intense her jealousy towards Tan Ya became.

If only she had become Lin Dong’s intern back then, how wonderful that would have been.

All that Tan Ya had now could have been hers.

”So Zhang Yao, you’d better behave from now on. Don’t talk behind Doctor Lin Dong’s back anymore, or else, I’ll be the first one who won’t let you off,” Huang Hua warned.

Hearing this, Zhang Yao felt extremely dissatisfied inside.

She thought, how could her teacher, Huang Hua, be so useless? Damn it, now that Doctor Lin Dong is powerful, he doesn’t dare to trouble him and instead comes to bully her, an intern.

What kind of justice is that?

Truly useless!

Of course, these were words she only dared to scold in her mind.

She wouldn’t really dare to say them out loud in front of Huang Hua.

”Did you hear me?” Huang Hua scolded loudly again.

Zhang Yao nodded her head in grievance, ”I heard.”

At this moment, Zhang Yao regretted more and more that she hadn’t chosen Lin Dong as her mentor.
