Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 945: Chapter 944: Miss Drake, Could You Explain Your Eyes?

”Big Brother Kaidou, science is a rigorous matter, please think carefully, aren’t you intentionally saying this just because you want to fight?”

Listening to Kaidou’s words, Queen’s eyes nearly popped out, his backfired Rumble Ball was a real failure, but he wasn’t too upset. This was, after all, just the first product and many things were still being explored, failure was no big deal.

However, if failure becomes a stimulant and Kaidou ingested it, then it wouldn’t be an amusing affair.

Given Kaidou’s character, he might very well play this kind of trick.

”No, there’s truly a surge of anger in my heart right now.”

”Heh heh, Big Brother Kaidou, you’re exposed. If you were really angry, there’s no way you’d hold back now!”

Queen seemed to see through everything, not really believing Kaidou’s words.

”If Big Brother Kaidou was genuinely provoked by an external factor, he should have already started to fight...”

”Boom!”

”Gulp...”

Swallowing hard, Queen looked at the Wolf Fang Club smashed near his feet and suddenly recalled something: whether Kaidou was truly angry or faking it, he seemed unable to escape...

”You’ve used your wit in the wrong place, Queen. If I truly want to beat you up, do I need to find a reason?”

”...”

Kaidou’s statement blocked all possibilities. He was right, as someone who believed that power was everything, Kaidou didn’t need a reason to act; he did so because he wished it, and that was the basis of his actions.

”However, this item of yours indeed has no form change, instead it increases one’s temper quite a bit, your research seems to have failed.”

”In that case, I’ll just go back and research more, it shouldn’t be difficult...”

From affecting the body to affecting the mind, he must have messed up in some area, but as long as he rearranged the experiments, it would be fine.

Moreover, he didn’t want to be tormented by Kaidou. But just as he was planning to leave, the Hassaikai blocked his road.

”Things have already turned out this way and you plan to just leave? Thunderous Hakken!”

”It was you, Big Brother Kaidou, who insisted on trying it!!”

This was the reason Queen didn’t want Kaidou to attempt it. He wasn’t afraid of poisoning Kaidou; in any case, certainly his constitution couldn’t be poisoned to death. He was just afraid of Kaidou flipping out, but some things ultimately couldn’t be avoided.

Kaidou even developed new techniques because of this; in a sense, Queen was a great contributor.

...

On the beaches of Hakumai, due to the aftershocks from Ghost Island, Wano Kuni’s Inner Sea had become less peaceful, and the raging waves made the few fishermen return to shore.

”Lord Ming the Great has started again.”

”After all, it is the power of Lord Ming the Great that we have the days we do now.”

These people’s faces looked slightly youthful. The night of the Wano Kuni revolution, most of them knew nothing. Growing up in such an environment, they inherently weren’t resistant to the Hundred Beasts; rather, they believed that all that was now was brought by the Hundred Beasts, and their rule here was deserved.

Along the inner river, the riverbanks were lined with ordinary residents, occasionally spotting a few Pokemon by their side. There were also unlucky ones who got injured accidentally and were sent to the Pokemon Center for treatment.

Now there’s even a Mareep Electrocution Department as a specialty, as some people still don’t believe and touch Mareep with their bare hands, getting electrocuted; some older folks even team up to trick newcomers into touching bare fibers.

Nowadays, people without a Mareep electric shock are embarrassed to say they work there.

Continuing along the inner river leads to the Flower Capital. Inside the palace, Drake was looking at a freshly delivered newspaper.

”Wow, Big Brother King really has done something extraordinary.”

[Flame Disaster King - Kaidou’s Right-Hand Man]

[Vice Admiral Strawberry is slain; the Navy mourns him]

[The Navy loses face; an even more dangerous era arrives]

”Morgans is really bold; he dares to write things like this.”

Taking up a bottle of rum and drinking it all, even Drake felt some admiration for Morgans’ courage, as he truly dared to be a headline grabber, writing anything.

Although King hadn’t returned yet, news of the battle had already reached Wano Kuni, though there wasn’t much information about Blackbeard and Ace. The World Government was still preparing some matters and hadn’t immediately announced it.

Looking at the series of major events on the newspaper, Drake couldn’t help but be a bit surprised that in the time she had returned, quite a few things seemed to have happened at sea.

Just then, a knock on the door was heard, and Kikunojo entered, with a Comfey hovering above her head.

”Miss Drake, I’ve told you to drink less recently. The doctor said the petal water from Comfey can promote wound healing, your eye is still... still...”

Looking at Drake, Kikunojo suddenly noticed something was amiss.

”Miss Drake, if I remember correctly, the injured eye is your right one, right? Could you please tell me why your eyepatch is on the left eye?”

Since returning to Wano Kuni, Drake had used the injury as a reason to occupy much of Kikunojo’s time.

He himself thought Drake’s eye problem was his fault, so he mostly complied with Drake’s requests, but now he realized he might have mistaken something.

Her right eye appeared perfectly fine.

”Ah?”

Touching her eyepatch, Drake realized where the problem lay.

Her eye had healed shortly after returning to Wano Kuni; apart from a few days of pain, nothing was affected. But it didn’t stop her from using the injury to scheme for her personal affairs.

Such as wearing an eyepatch to pretend her eye was truly problematic, but while reading the newspaper when Kikunojo wasn’t around, she felt the eyepatch was uncomfortable so she took it off.

The news content had quite shocked her, so when Kikunojo entered, her scarless self casually grabbed the eyepatch and wore it wrong way.

”Well... actually, this eye is merely a prosthetic, specially made by Big Brother Queen, and my eye can see through things, so wearing the eyepatch doesn’t affect my vision.”

”I see, do I look like a fool to you? What kind of prosthetic has such dexterity?”

”You’re aware of our technology too... Okay, frankly it healed a few days ago, now it’s no different than before.”

”That’s great!”

”Hmm?”

”If your eye is okay, then that’s better than anything.”

Kikunojo didn’t pay much attention to Drake’s act of feigning illness. Compared to that, Drake’s actual physical well-being was the thing that truly cheered Kikunojo.

”You’re surprisingly naive... but this is good too. After holding back for several days, I’m going to throw a party. Do you want to join me?”

”Miss Drake, can’t you save some money?”

”No. People, you never know when you’ll die at sea. Rather than saving money, it’s better to enjoy oneself thoroughly.”
