Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 937: Chapter 936: It’s Just the Navy—Who Said I Was Going to Run?

If Queen knew Blackbeard’s thoughts at this moment, he would certainly regret not having King take some specially made Plague Bombs to directly pulverize Blackbeard.

He tolerated the Navy targeting him. Pirates being wanted by the Navy is very common, and even without these events, he would definitely still be hunted.

He tolerated the World Government targeting him.

It’s just a burden; you get used to carrying it around, and although that ”only alive” is quite targeted towards him, there’s not much he can do. He took on the blame but also received corresponding rewards.

When the news of Blackbeard targeting him reached Queen’s ears, he would absolutely explode on the spot.

Just a mere Blackbeard, why target him, Lord Queen?

Nonetheless, Queen didn’t need to worry about such matters for now, as King was currently launching indiscriminate attacks on the Blackbeard Pirates.

The Aerodactyl is a sky creature from the Cretaceous Period, with a wingspan reaching up to twelve meters. Soaring through the skies, they hunt fish in the water and small animals on the shores.

The Aerodactyl is said to be the ancient airborne master, a fierce Pokemon that roars loudly while flying across the vast skies, and anything that moves might become targets of their attacks.

Blackbeard once again suffered the painful flames, not understanding why Hundred Beasts’ ability users could ignore his Dark-Dark Fruit, nor did Ace understand why he couldn’t use his abilities when caught by Blackbeard.

But when King was captured by Blackbeard, he reacted the same as usual.

With Van Augur’s example ahead and Blackbeard’s warnings behind, other members of the Blackbeard Pirates started to ensure their self-preservation, commonly known as running for their lives.

”Let’s start with you.”

King’s gaze drifted back and forth before finally settling on Laffitte. To King, there was little chance of escape for the clueless-looking Burgess or the constantly grim-faced Doc Q; only the flying Laffitte had the greatest chance.

Therefore, he decided to deal with this most likely to escape man first.

With a flap of his wings, in just a few blinks, Laffitte found himself under a looming shadow, a massive claw grasping toward him.

In kicking skills, King is not as skilled as Shaina, but that doesn’t mean he can’t use them. Due to his beast form being a pterodactyl, he has his own application of his legs.

King doesn’t have a fixed combat style; his entire body can be utilized as his weapon.

In the original timeline, upon learning that BIG MOM and her pirate crew were invading Wano Kuni by riding the main ship ”Queen Mother·Hymn” over the waterfall, he transformed into a pterodactyl and single-handedly kicked the ship off the waterfall, which was a highlight before his transformation to Hikaseiou.

Laffitte was desperately flapping his wings but couldn’t escape King’s pursuit; the sharp claw was closing in on him.

Seeing no escape, Laffitte shifted his position and concentrated his Armament Haki to the tip of his cane, preparing to stab at King’s claw.

Crunch.

With a crisp sound, Laffitte’s cane snapped into two; Haki has its limits, and once depleted, it takes some time to recover.

Aside from a few, nobody chooses to use the full-body Armament mode; most concentrate their Haki at a single point, which is what Laffitte just did.

A small amount of Haki sustains the weapon, while most of the Haki is concentrated at the tip of the cane. But until the cane snapped, King’s movements weren’t affected.

Instead, more white feathers floated in the sky.

”Wings are not used like that.”

Lunarians first learn to crawl, then walk, and when they can run, they learn to fly, a survival instinct of their race. King considers himself to be the authority on winged flight.

”Stop right there!”

As King was about to deal the fatal blow to Laffitte, Blackbeard suddenly rushed up from below, darkness swirling around his left hand, creating a powerful gravitational vortex capturing King’s movements in the sky. Meanwhile, his right fist was armed with claw blades, reaching for King above.

Blackbeard didn’t want to fight King, but couldn’t let him destroy his foundation, forcing him into this choice.

Unlike King and Laffitte’s flying ability, Blackbeard reached this position entirely relying on his body techniques, with black smoke constantly emanating from behind him and some crushed stones flying like cannonballs toward King.

But this attack didn’t even compel King to dodge; what Lunarians pride themselves on most is not fire manipulation and flight ability, but their resilient vitality.

The fire behind them signifies their form, and when it burns, their defense is extremely strong; such ordinary attacks can’t break their defense.

Only Blackbeard’s intervention provided Laffitte a respire, allowing him to smoothly escape King’s attack.

”Still have the courage to attack?”

”After plotting for decades, how could I let you ruin it here! Dark Water!”

Facing Blackbeard’s attack, King didn’t choose to meet it but instead used his wings to create distance. The previous contact made him understand what Blackbeard’s ability exactly was.

It didn’t affect him upon contact, and King could still fly, but he didn’t want Blackbeard to limit his abilities like that.

”You have the skill; why not see if you can stop them all? Hikaseiou!”

Rock Slide fused with flames, a more powerful Fire Meteor descended from the sky.

Its power was not as strong as Akainu’s Meteor Volcano, but the burning rocks covered a vast area.

Whether it was Blackbeard in front, Laffitte distancing himself, or Burgess and Doc Q fleeing, all were covered by the fiery rain.

”Dark Acupoint Path!”

Blackbeard could only choose to unleash darkness to fend off King’s attack. But at this moment, King noticed something different on the horizon; three masts gradually appeared, and the Navy’s seagull flag entered King’s view.

Blackbeard, who was knocked back to the ground again, also noticed the three advancing warships and immediately laughed.

”Thief hahaha! Here they come, finally! Imagine, I’ve already made deals with the Navy; now my status is with the Seven Warlords of the Sea!”

Old habits die hard; arrogance is Blackbeard’s nature, and even if he’s suffered because of it, he still hasn’t changed.

The Navy’s arrival made him feel he had reinforcements and regained his confidence.

According to the arrangement between Blackbeard and the Navy, he would hand Ace over to exchange for a spot among the Seven Warlords of the Sea. These transporting Navy must carry the Warlord appointment letter; from this moment, he’s already an ally with the Navy.

”Just wait, I will repay today’s grudge sooner or later!”

”Why wait any longer? Why not settle it now?”

King’s words interrupted Blackbeard’s train of thought; he initially thought King would choose to retreat upon seeing the Navy’s support, but facing this flying opponent, Blackbeard had no choice but to make bold statements.

He hadn’t anticipated that King, facing the Navy’s warships, had no intention of retreating.

”You...!”

”The nuisances have arrived, so the game of cat and mouse should end. But you can try; let’s see if they can save you!”

To avoid interference, King decided to quickly resolve Blackbeard.

King’s form began to change, cloaked in a white light covering the pterodactyl’s body. As the light faded, several sharp rock spikes had appeared on his wings and body.
