From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

Chapter 994: Chapter 990: Picking Fights Without Knowing Right From Wrong (Part 1)

This time, although Mu Shuangshuang has to come up with fourteen taels of silver.

It will absolutely benefit the future operation of the restaurant, with no drawbacks.

Pork is essential for the restaurant’s dishes, so instead of purchasing from outside, it’s better to buy from our own people.

It’s not only reassuring but cheaper!

Most importantly, Mu Dalang can build the pigsty without owing money, which means Mu Shuangshuang gave him a helping hand.

Mu Dalang went back and told Huang Bitao about it, and she was overjoyed.

She didn’t expect that the matter her husband decided last night would have results today.

And not a single penny was owed.

”Dalang, you’re really amazing.” Huang Bitao praised.

Mu Dalang blushed and explained, ”It’s all because Shuangshuang is a good person, willing to help. A pig farm built with fifteen taels of silver, its scale will definitely not be inferior to Wang Erma’s pig farm.”

”By the way, now that I talked to Wang Erma’s family, the matter of them selling the boars and sows to me is settled.”

”Yes! Let’s remember Shuangshuang’s kindness and repay her in the future!” Huang Bitao said with a smile.

The young couple was barely able to share their joy of success when a rough knocking sounded at the door.

Mrs. Lin shouted in a rough voice, ”Dalang’s wife, you’re still hiding in bed sleeping in, there are piles of clothes in the courtyard, and if you don’t wash them soon, everyone will have to go naked!”

”Here we go again, I’ll go tell mother we’re not washing clothes anymore!” Mu Dalang said, getting up.

This is Mrs. Lin’s trick, ever since Mu Dazhong went to the mine, Mrs. Lin has been on the lookout for trouble and has been pulling out old clothes from the house for Huang Bitao to wash.

Insisting that Huang Bitao spends most of the day in cold water.

Sometimes, clothes washed just two days ago were thrown into the laundry basin by Mrs. Lin again.

But a mother-in-law is always a mother-in-law, no matter how ridiculous, Huang Bitao dared not refute Mrs. Lin.

”No, I’ll go, or else later mother will scold me again!” Huang Bitao tugged on Mu Dalang’s sleeve and said to Mrs. Lin outside the door, ”Mother, I’m coming right away!”

Huang Bitao hurriedly went out the door, just in time to meet Mu Danian and Chen Hong who were about to go out.

Startled, Huang Bitao quickly stepped aside. Chen Hong glanced at Huang Bitao and when she was leaving, said, ”You and your niece-in-law aren’t having an affair, right? That girl seems afraid of you!”

”Humph, a slut like her, I’m not interested! The one I like is you, Xiao Hong!”

Mu Danian’s sweet words made Chen Hong extremely happy.

Even so, Chen Hong couldn’t help but sigh, ”Earlier, I saw your third branch’s brat and that brat riding a carriage to town.

You tell me, why do people have such different lives? Your elder brother is a scholar, that brat is the restaurant’s owner, and we... sigh!”

Mu Danian was a bit impatient at this moment; he hated being compared to his elder brother.

There’s absolutely no comparison. Back then, the family used all their resources to send his elder brother to study, while the rest of the brothers struggled even to have a full meal, let alone study.

If Mu Danian had also gone to study, he might already be a high official now.

”I think we need to come up with a way to make some money!” Chen Hong suddenly said.

”What way? Going to the brothel to auction yourself?” Mu Danian said grumpily.

”You rascal, how dare you talk about that—didn’t I say not to talk about it?” Chen Hong pounded Mu Danian’s chest with her fist, deliberately acting spoiled.

Mu Danian felt a shiver run through his body, he pulled Chen Hong close and kissed her fiercely.

Although Chen Hong didn’t have other skills, her chest could mesmerize even Mu Danian.

The two put on an uninhibited show in the Old Mu Family courtyard.

The couple from the fourth branch, horrified, quickly rushed to the main room.

As they ran, they internally scolded Mu Danian and Chen Hong for being shameless.

Panting, the two separated and Chen Hong whispered, ”How about we trick Wang San? He’s been wanting a wife.

We could cheat him out of a few dozen taels for the bride price, fill our stomachs, and then deal with it later. What do you think?”

Mu Danian thought about it, in the entire Er Gui Village, only a few rich people existed.

Wang San was the easiest target among the rich.

Moreover, he’s all alone; if we swindle all his money, wouldn’t we hit the jackpot?

”The idea is good, but to cheat a bride price, someone has to volunteer, right? Who would want to meet someone like Wang San?” Mu Danian asked.

”Isn’t there a loony in your family? A loony paired with an old man—a perfect match!” Chen Hong pointed towards the direction of the main house.

”You mean Xiangxiang? No, no, she’s my mother’s treasure; anyone who dares to touch her will die without a grave.”

Mu Danian, although a bit unruly, dared not provoke Old Mrs. Mu.

”You are really foolish. If something were to happen between them, and it got out, wouldn’t your mother beg Wang San to marry the loony?

And there’s always your second sister-in-law to take the blame for us. We take the benefits, let someone else bear the bad consequence!”

Mu Danian, hearing Chen Hong’s words, was tempted.

He immediately agreed to Chen Hong’s suggestion and went to discuss the plan with Wang San.

Meanwhile, Mu Shuangshuang and Lu Yuanfeng went to town, accompanied by the Huang Brothers.

From now on, Huang Da will need to go to the market to learn about the price of various dishes, how much to buy separately, and how much for wholesale.

Every penny must be meticulously accounted for.

As procurement is considered managerial, Huang Er’s monthly salary is two taels.

However, the responsibility of procurement is heavy; the accounting room, stewardship, and Mu Shuangshuang and Lu Yuanfeng check the accounts every three months.

If there are errors, not only will the person be fired, but they will also have to pay double compensation for the restaurant’s losses.

Yet, it’s a high-reward, high-risk situation, nothing much to say.

On the second day of business, the restaurant’s business was unusually good; Mu Shuangshuang’s prepared four-person booths were packed.

Mu Shuangshuang patiently taught Huang Er how to make four signature dishes in the kitchen.

Although Huang Er was entering the kitchen for the first time, he studied earnestly.

In fact, he worked quite decently, which surprised Mu Shuangshuang for a long time.

After practicing all morning, except for the cooking time being not very precise, and the roast being a bit dry, the roast duck was already presentable.

Holding half a roasted duck, Huang Er asked Mu Shuangshuang, ”Owner, how do you think I did?”

Accustomed to local life, Huang Er also called Mu Shuangshuang ”Owner.”

”Not bad, you’ve mastered the basic steps, keep practicing and I’ll teach you the other three dishes!” Mu Shuangshuang said.

Huang Er was extremely excited.

He glanced around, trying to find his brother’s figure but couldn’t see him anywhere.

”Your brother has been busier than you these days; he has to go to the market, learn market trends, follow Brother Dahai on procurement trips, and learn!”
