From Folly to Fortune：I Rewrite My Life After Rebirth!

Chapter 965: Chapter 961: Is This Even Possible? (Third Update)

”Shuangshuang can tell stories?” Lu Yuanfeng was more excited than before. He looked at Mu Shuangshuang with added anticipation in his eyes.

Lu Yuanfeng enjoyed listening to stories.

Back when he was in the army camp, a soldier had heard a few storytelling sessions, and afterwards, he would repeat the stories he heard to those in the camp.

Every day after training, just in that brief tea time, it was the only entertainment for everyone after a day’s practice.

”Fengzi likes listening to stories?” Mu Shuangshuang was also somewhat surprised.

She always thought Lu Yuanfeng’s hobby was hunting in the mountains, chatting with her, and such.

Little did she know, he also liked those imaginative things.

”Yes! Heard people telling stories in the camp, but unfortunately... never heard the ending.”

Lu Yuanfeng’s eyes revealed a hint of regret.

”Fengzi, when I go back later, I’ll tell you a story, this time, there will definitely be an ending.”

Mu Shuangshuang said.

”Owner, since it’s storytelling, why not start now and let us listen and catch the mood.” Yu Dahai interrupted the couple oblivious to the world around them.

Other waiters in the restaurant also joined in, saying they wanted to hear Mu Shuangshuang’s storytelling.

Mu Shuangshuang wasn’t shy; after all, there’s nothing much to do right now.

She pondered for a moment, went through the Four Great Classical Novels in her mind; Dream of the Red Chamber, Water Margin, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms can be told privately to Lu Yuanfeng.

The romantic entanglements in Dream of the Red Chamber would likely appeal more to women, as for Water Margin and Three Kingdoms, involving ancient politics, if reported by someone with ill intentions, could bring trouble.

So Mu Shuangshuang decided to tell Journey to the West, a story that was unrelated to the Da Ning Dynasty’s politics, yet quite thrilling, likely appealing to everyone.

”Let’s go with Journey to the West then...”

The entire afternoon, Mu Shuangshuang was telling stories. Several times she wanted to stop for a break, but the waiters in the restaurant seemed obsessed.

Insisting Mu Shuangshuang tell a few more Chapters, several rounds passed, and it was almost evening.

In between, nobody visited the restroom even once.

Everybody listened intently as Mu Shuangshuang told her story.

Strangely, at some point, the Chengfeng Restaurant’s main hall became crowded with people.

Each one had the same expression as the restaurant’s waiters, staring at Mu Shuangshuang as they listened to the story, not even bothering to wipe the drool from their mouths.

”Everyone, that’s as far as I can go today. I still need to go back to the countryside with Fengzi; it’s getting dark, and the mountain path might be hard to traverse.”

Mu Shuangshuang stood in the center of the hall, imitating those storytellers, she made a bow towards the people in the hall, explaining.

”No, it’s the most exciting part right now!”

”Exactly, what happens after the Monkey King ascends to the Heavenly Court and becomes Horses’ Fortune?”

”Miss, can’t you tell us one more segment? We’re so engrossed!”

”...”

Everyone was bargaining like in a vegetable market.

Mu Shuangshuang wanted to laugh but couldn’t.

She was even more amazed that just by telling a story, the restaurant suddenly got so many people?

A bright idea flashed in Mu Shuangshuang’s mind. She suddenly realized these people might help her.

She made a quieting gesture to everyone: ”Everyone, listen to me for a moment. I am Mu Shuangshuang, the new owner of Chengfeng Restaurant along with this gentleman Lu Yuanfeng, this is our first restaurant.

Today’s storytelling was meant to make the stewards and waiters of our restaurant happy and entertained, but surprisingly, everyone also enjoyed listening to my story.

Our restaurant is opening on the tenth of February. If you truly enjoy my storytelling, then do come and support us on that day.

We will prepare all sorts of fruits and snacks, and delicious meals. Anyone who comes to our restaurant to eat that day will get a fifty percent discount.

Meaning, if a dish sells for eight coins, on that day, you can enjoy it for just four coins.

We will also invite people for a lion and dragon dance, ensuring everyone comes with joy and leaves with joy, just ask everyone to help promote our restaurant.

Tell everyone around you, Chengfeng Restaurant in town is opening, thank you all!”

After Mu Shuangshuang finished, a burst of applause rang out.

The man in the front smiled at Mu Shuangshuang, ”So it’s Miss Shuangshuang, your story is fascinating, right, the tenth of February, I’ll definitely be the first to come and support!”

”Count us in too, but could you tell us a bit more now? There’s still ten days until we hear the story again, I’m afraid I won’t sleep well at night!”

”Yes, tell us one more part, we’ll all be there for Chengfeng Restaurant’s opening!” Someone echoed.

Unable to refuse such enthusiasm, Mu Shuangshuang braced herself for another segment.

As a result, everyone became even more excited, as the more they heard, the more intrigued they were with Monkey King’s future.

The sun was beginning to set.

Though everyone yearned for more, they knew Mu Shuangshuang had been talking all afternoon without rest.

Continuing now would be rather inconsiderate.

”Miss Shuangshuang, we’ll surely come on the tenth of February, make sure you arrive early and tell us how the story continues!”

Someone called out to Mu Shuangshuang.

Mu Shuangshuang nodded, ”Rest assured, I’ll definitely arrive early!”

With waves of guests being sent off, Yu Dahai wore an uncontainable smile.

He gave Mu Shuangshuang a thumbs-up, praising, ”Owner, why did I only realize now how clever you are?

So many people promised to support our restaurant’s opening day, I bet the day we open, it will be packed!”

People of the Da Ning Dynasty value honesty.

If they said they’d come, most of them would keep their word.

Moreover, they promised to inform their friends too.

When the time comes, even the opening of First-class Residence might not compare.

”That’s why everyone needs to work harder! If the restaurant thrives, I’ll award bonuses and possibly increase wages depending on circumstances.” Mu Shuangshuang said.

Everyone cheered, Sun Dawu stood up and said, ”Let’s stay here for dinner tonight, I’ll cook.”

Mu Shuangshuang turned to ask Lu Yuanfeng: ”Fengzi, should we stay in town tonight?

Head back to the village early tomorrow morning, I’ve told my parents about it. These days, the restaurant is busy, if we can’t make it back, we’ll stay in town.”

Mu Shuangshuang kept a room in the small courtyard in town.

Accommodating two people isn’t a problem.

Lu Yuanfeng nodded.

”Sounds good, otherwise it’ll be dark before we reach the village!”

”Let’s help with dinner, make whatever we want!” Mu Shuangshuang finished, pulling Lu Yuanfeng towards the kitchen.

Seeing the two following him, Sun Dawu quickly waved his hand, ”You guys rest, I can manage alone!”

Sun Dawu had basically adapted to the chef profession, whether at the restaurant or at his own home, he would experiment with various ingredients to hone his skills.

Afraid of embarrassing Mu Shuangshuang, he naturally didn’t want to rely on others when yet another chance to showcase his talent arose.
