The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 124: Chapter 124: A Past Between Us

The woman in black sneered and said, ”I thought you were someone who honored promises, but it turns out you’re untrustworthy, denying what you personally did!”

Huangfu Jingchen once again examined the woman in front of him. She had a graceful posture and expressive eyes, exuding a cool and commanding air, very beautiful, yet he was certain he’d never met her.

He took a step back, his expression darkening, ”Miss, I’m a stranger to you, so why accuse me of breaking a promise?”

Just then, light footsteps were heard from the corridor. Xia Wenjin approached briskly, looking like she’d reached some understanding with Kong Chan, and appeared to be in good spirits.

The woman in black ignored her and focused only on Huangfu Jingchen, ”What do you mean? Are you pretending not to remember?”

Xia Wenjin asked curiously, ”Do you know each other?”

”Yes!”

”No!”

The woman in black and Huangfu Jingchen spoke at the same time, but with completely different answers.

Hearing Huangfu Jingchen’s response, the coldness in the woman’s eyes intensified, as if looking at a heartless man, her voice filled with resentment and accusation, ”So you’re denying it?”

Xia Wenjin looked between Huangfu Jingchen and the woman in black, as if there was a story between them. She watched with amused interest, blinking her eyes.

Huangfu Jingchen remained completely puzzled. He carefully recalled, assuring himself he’d never met this woman before, and responded with a distant tone, ”Miss, you must be mistaken. We’ve never met, so there’s no question of recognition or denial.”

The woman in black confidently stated, ”My name is Sang Xuewei!”

Huangfu Jingchen’s expression turned even colder; he’d never heard of this name.

Sang Xuewei continued, ”I’ve told you my name, what about yours?”

Huangfu Jingchen frowned, and Xia Wenjin mischievously interjected, ”His name is Huang Zheng,” earning a glare from Huangfu Jingchen.

Sang Xuewei’s gaze was fixed on Huangfu Jingchen, ”Huang Zheng! So you really refuse to acknowledge? That night, what did you say when you had me pinned on the ground?”

”Whoa!” Xia Wenjin’s eyes went wide, it sounded quite scandalous. Did something indescribable happen between them?

Huangfu Jingchen’s face darkened, his stare growing sharper at Sang Xuewei, ”Miss, stop talking nonsense! Between us, it’s all clean and innocent. Why do you spread such slander?” ℯℯ𝑙.

Xia Wenjin blinked. How could it be innocent after being like that? Huang Zheng just didn’t want to admit it!

Unexpectedly, this seemingly refined rich young master was also a scoundrel. The girl had come right to him, yet he wouldn’t acknowledge it! Just like Huangfu Yuxuan.

Sang Xuewei’s eyes widened in return, ”I’ve made it so obvious, and you still won’t acknowledge it? Do you want me to go into detail?”

Huangfu Jingchen was almost furious now; her words became more outrageous, yet he had no clue what she was talking about.

Xia Wenjin gave Huangfu Jingchen a meaningful look and quipped, ”Brother Huang, so this is what you’re like. This concerns a lady’s reputation, she’s come all this way, you should acknowledge if it’s true!”

Huangfu Jingchen’s gaze swept coldly over to see Xia Wenjin watching with keen interest, smiling. It was unclear if she was joking or siding with Sang Xuewei. Whether it was her words or her smile, they both weighed heavy on him. He turned back to Sang Xuewei, his gaze cold and sharp, almost squeezing the words out through his teeth, ”Speak!” He was determined to understand her motive in tarnishing his reputation!

Sang Xuewei spoke without hesitation, ”That night, in the darkness, you pinned me down...”

Xia Wenjin imagined the scene, whispered, ”Brother Huang, that’s rather rough, why on the ground? Wasn’t there a bed?”

Huangfu Jingchen snapped, ”Shut up!”

Xia Wenjin shrugged with a playful smile, ”Miss, please continue!”

Sang Xuewei had seen Xia Wenjin with Huangfu Jingchen before, so she was aware they knew each other. She went on, ”You immobilized me and tried to snatch what I was holding. I refused, and through trickery, you succeeded. Not only did you offend me, but you took the item. I didn’t pursue it further to avoid mutual harm. Isn’t that a debt you owe me?”

Xia Wenjin: ”...”

She had been ready to hear a dramatic tale, but this was it?

Huangfu Jingchen: ”...”

With her explanation, he immediately knew who she was. He looked up sharply, ”So you’re the masked patrol from the Governor Mansion?”

”What masked patrol? Just a guise. So, will you admit to owing me a favor?”

The situation back then couldn’t exactly be called a debt of gratitude, but Sang Xuewei wasn’t entirely wrong. Huangfu Jingchen had tested her skills, which were quite good. If she continued to pursue it, it would lead to mutual harm, drawing in the patrol and guards eventually.

It was questionable if they could escape afterward!

However, after she left, he was exposed and ended up creating havoc in the Governor Mansion.

Huangfu Jingchen replied calmly, ”Did you alert the patrol as you left, trapping me?”

Sang Xuewei was displeased, ”Am I that kind of person?”

”But once you left, I was surrounded, barely escaping from the patrol and guards. Are you saying it wasn’t you?”

Sang Xuewei retorted, ”I let you have the silk manuscript, did you think I wanted it ruined? Your lack of skills isn’t my fault! You still owe me that favor!”

As it was about this matter, Xia Wenjin lost interest since she had been part of the later half.

Not sure whether to get rid of the trouble or acknowledge a debt, Huangfu Jingchen casually asked, ”How do you want it repaid?”

Without hesitation, Sang Xuewei said, ”Simple, marry me!”

Xia Wenjin, who had taken a few steps away, froze. There was more drama to come!

Huangfu Jingchen firmly responded, ”Impossible!”

”Why?” Sang Xuewei asked, puzzled, ”Am I not beautiful?”

Xia Wenjin winked and smiled, ”Brother Huang, you’re lucky! Miss Sang is very pretty, you’d make a good match!”

Huangfu Jingchen’s expression turned stern, ”Would you like to step in?”

Xia Wenjin waved her hands in polite refusal, laughing, ”Miss Sang has her eyes on you. Besides, I owe no favors!”

”Then shut up!”

Xia Wenjin shrugged, telling Sang Xuewei, ”Miss, I’ve helped you as much as I can!”

Sang Xuewei laughed, ”Thank you!” Then she turned to Huangfu Jingchen, ”So, you don’t want to repay the favor?”
