The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Empty

Returning to the Zen Room, Xia Wenjin moved lightly.

Huangfu Jingchen had already returned and was asleep.

The bed in the Zen Room wasn’t wide, and Huangfu Jingchen slept at the very edge, leaving a large space.

At this moment, Huangfu Jingchen was already asleep, his breathing even, his sleeping posture very quiet. His clear and handsome eyebrows and eyes, as if drawn by a skilled artist, appeared even more handsome and elegant under the gentle moonlight.

With the moonlight illuminating, looking at the beautiful face before her, Xia Wenjin admired: Truly handsome!

She leaned in a bit, half-lying on the bed, observing at close range, the handsome face of the boy before her was magnified, surprisingly without any flaws.

She moved closer, and then a bit closer.

Their faces were only three inches apart, her breath audible, she could even see his long eyelashes. A man with such long lashes, it would put many women to shame!

Her lips slightly parted, she whispered: ”This guy, taking over the bed without a word and lacking any gentlemanly manners! What a waste of such good looks.”

After her little gripe, Xia Wenjin silently chuckled, stood up, stretched her arms, pulled over a stack of cushions from the corner, arranged them side by side, lay down sideways, and went to sleep.

After she settled in, Huangfu Jingchen on the bed silently opened his eyes.

Xia Wenjin had entered quietly, yet he still awoke.

Although this was a Buddhist Temple, it was unfamiliar territory, making him very alert.

Thus, even with his breathing even pretending to be asleep, he was somewhat tense.

What if Xia Wenjin really decided to sleep on the bed? Although he left more than half the space, Xia Wenjin was a Long Yang!

Especially when Xia Wenjin leaned over onto the bed, getting closer and closer to him.

He was so tense he was almost suffocating, despite his tremendous effort to keep his breathing steady, his mind went blank at that moment.

He could feel her drawing near, he felt her breath, he could even sense how she was gazing at him.

Her breath was like a gentle breeze brushing against his face, carrying a subtle orchid-like fragrance, delicate and ghostly. Being so close, Huangfu Jingchen’s heart nearly stopped.

If Xia Wenjin were to do anything more excessive, what would he do? Resist and push her away or go with the flow?

He found his mind so blank he couldn’t react. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Not only was he unable to react, he was utterly ashamed of the thoughts that sprang up following that.

Fortunately, she merely looked and then moved back.

Afterward, he heard sounds: her soft murmurs, the shuffling of cushions, and the sound of her lying down.

Very light, very light.

Yet he heard it clearly.

After a good while, his heartbeat slowly calmed down.

He recalled her mutterings, what did her tone imply? Elderly, as if a senior to a junior. But he could tell, in that tone, there was only teasing, playfulness, a mild complaint without a hint of impropriety or forwardness.

At that time, he was ”asleep”. If Xia Wenjin really had other intentions, seemingly no one could stop her, but she didn’t.

Could he have misunderstood? Or, although she was a Long Yang, was she actually a very proper one?

Huangfu Jingchen turned over, he heard the sound of even breathing, Xia Wenjin had already fallen asleep.

But he couldn’t fall asleep.

This bed, sleeping alone, was indeed quite spacious, spacious enough to feel somewhat empty.

Early the next morning, when Huangfu Jingchen woke up, he felt some back pain.

He didn’t mind, monks emphasize asceticism, the bed in the Zen Room was a whole wooden plank, very hard, sleeping on such a bed surely wouldn’t be comfortable.

However, something seemed off, his side felt soft, with a light and elegant fragrance, not the scent of incense from the Buddhist Temple.

His first reaction was, did Xia Wenjin come onto the bed in the middle of the night? Xia Wenjin was quite particular; even her clothes were perfumed. He had smelled it when they were close.

Opening his eyes, the Zen Room’s ceiling seemed much higher.

Huangfu Jingchen’s eyes widened, his gaze moved, Xia Wenjin was sleeping on her side, and he was sleeping next to her, his arm resting on her in an embracing position.

It wasn’t Xia Wenjin who climbed onto the bed but somehow he ended up next to her? And in such an ambiguous position?

He quickly withdrew his hand, got up stealthily, and climbed back onto the bed lightly.

Lying down, his heart was still pounding.

Fortunately, Xia Wenjin didn’t wake up.

But he felt as if he were lying on pins and needles.

From last night, he had no impression at all. Trying hard to recall, it seemed that because the bed was too hard, sleeping was too uncomfortable, he rolled around on the bed and, in a daze, found a much softer place, feeling very satisfied, he fell asleep.

When did his sleeping posture become like this?

Huangfu Jingchen felt very uneasy, wondering if Xia Wenjin woke up last night. If she had woken up, known about his actions, and thought he had feelings for her, what should he do since he was also a Long Yang?

After more than a quarter of an hour, the early morning bell of the Buddhist Temple rang, and Xia Wenjin turned over and sat up.

Huangfu Jingchen quickly closed his eyes.

Xia Wenjin didn’t look towards the bed; she went on to tidy the cushions, folding them back to their original place.

After doing all this, she heard a voice behind her, still seemingly sleepy: ”You’re awake!”

Xia Wenjin turned her head, replied casually: ”Mm!”

”Last night... did you sleep well?” Huangfu Jingchen asked in an even more nonchalant tone, though he was very nervous.

Xia Wenjin shook her head, said: ”Not well!”

Huangfu Jingchen’s heart skipped a beat, pretended to be calm, and asked: ”Why?”

”Last night I seemed to be in a nightmare, it felt like someone tied me up with a rope, I couldn’t struggle free, and there was a fire roasting me, yet I couldn’t wake up, slept very uncomfortably!”

”You really didn’t wake up?” Huangfu Jingchen blurted out.

Xia Wenjin looked at him, puzzled: ”Why are you so nervous? Probably because the cushions were uncomfortable, pressing me and causing the nightmare. I didn’t even blame you for taking the bed, why do you still look so guilty? Ha, I know, your conscience finally got the better of you, right? Clearly, you are older than me, yet you take up the bed and don’t know how to be a bit accommodating.”

”I... I left you half!” Huangfu Jingchen mumbled.

”Leaving half to squeeze with you?” Xia Wenjin pouted, full of disdain: ”I’m not used to it.”

Huangfu Jingchen said: ”Then tonight you sleep on the bed, I’ll sleep on the cushions!”

Xia Wenjin blinked: ”You continue to sleep on the bed, I’ve decided, tonight I’ll find somewhere else to sleep!”

”Where will you sleep?” Huangfu Jingchen asked urgently without thinking.

Xia Wenjin turned her head, looking at him with a faint smile.

Huangfu Jingchen came to his senses, sheepishly said: ”I, I am concerned about your safety. This place is unfamiliar...”
