Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 3072: Chapter 3081: He Just Wants to Show Off Their Love in Public

That little move from Adam Sinclair was basically him announcing that her status as the official girlfriend was set in stone. The ones who originally came over to hit on him, the ones with better social radar, would occasionally find a topic to shift toward her so she wouldn’t feel awkward. Olivia Lewis secretly tugged a few times but still couldn’t get her hand back, so she had no choice but to stand at his side and play the role of a qualified vase, keeping a smile on her face and chiming in with a sentence or two at the right moments.

Baron Lawrence didn’t show up, which just made Adam Sinclair’s identity look even more impressive.

More and more people gathered around to chat him up, and Olivia really didn’t like this kind of setting. Compared to socializing, she much preferred hiding in a corner eating and drinking.

Maybe because the crowd was getting thicker, a waiter in a tailcoat came over toward them, carrying a tray of cocktails.

The few people chatting casually each asked for a glass of cocktail.

Adam turned his head, those noble Peach Blossom Eyes looking at her with doting warmth as he asked softly, ”Want a drink?”

The focused look on his face was so gentle it was practically dripping.

In an instant, Olivia felt the gaze coming at her from all directions. She coughed awkwardly. ”Uh... whatever is fine.”

”You can’t drink anything too strong. How about some fruit wine?” In Adam’s deep eyes, light flowed faintly, full of springtime charm.

MMP!

Olivia could feel the attention from all sides getting hotter and hotter. How could she not know this man was doing it on purpose? Purposely showing off their lovey-dovey act in public! Damn it, what are you flirting for! She quietly pinched the flesh at his waist, and watching his smile go stiff from the pain, she finally felt a little better. Olivia’s pretty face squeezed out a shy, demure expression even more professional than his, playing the part of the well‑behaved, sensible girl to perfection. ”Mm. I’ll listen to you.”

If you didn’t know better, you’d think this was how she and Adam normally got along.

Adam’s lips twitched twice; he almost couldn’t resist reaching out to knead that fake expression off her face. But seeing her put on that obedient act while secretly twisting him like that... for some reason, he thought of a fox. His eyes suddenly lifted, a hint of amusement rippling there as he said to the waiter, ”Get me a ’Summer Passion.’”

Among the cocktails, Summer Passion is one of the fruit wines ladies love to drink—a peach liqueur. The taste is sweet and tangy; girls hanging out in bars usually like ordering this kind of drink.

The alcohol level isn’t high. Calling it wine, it’s basically more like a soft drink.

”Certainly.” The waiter took a tall, beautifully shaped goblet of pink‑peach liquid from his tray and handed it over.

And right then, an accident happened. No one expected his hand to suddenly slip, and that entire glass of pink cocktail dumped all over the man’s shirt.

The waiter’s face changed on the spot, and he immediately apologized. ”I—I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to. I’ll get you a towel... No, upstairs, upstairs there’s a designated changing area.”

At this kind of top‑tier event, to avoid accidents they usually set up a special changing area, with a few sets of men’s and women’s outfits prepared, just in case any guest accidentally soils their formal wear and ends up embarrassed.

Adam’s chest was almost completely soaked by the cocktail. He’d worn a white dress shirt tonight, so the colored drink on his clothes looked especially obvious.

More than the visible stains, the worst part was the sticky shirt clinging to his body. It was beyond uncomfortable.

Adam frowned. The waiter was still apologizing nonstop. The banquet hadn’t even started yet, so he couldn’t just leave right away. Though he was reluctant, he still let go of Olivia’s hand, leaned in close to her and said in a low voice, ”I’m going to change. Don’t wander off. Stay here and wait for me.”
