Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 3060: Chapter 3069: Using Himself to Manipulate Her Heart

She was terrified that her emotions might collapse if he came at her again after days of tense feelings.

Adam Sinclair stopped at a good point, releasing his grip and not pressuring her further. Actually, after hearing that she hadn’t really kissed Jeremy Payne, he felt a lot better.

Olivia Lewis’s first reaction upon gaining her freedom was to throw away the small knife in her hand and immediately get up from the sofa to find the light switch.

’Click,’ went the button. The whole world brightened up.

It turned out to be an office, and not far from the sofa was a round conference table. The room had bay windows, and as she suspected, the dark curtains had been drawn shut, blocking the outside light from coming in.

She wasn’t concerned with what the room was used for or how Adam obtained the key card to the room. As soon as her eyes adjusted to the brightness, she returned to the sofa and pulled up the person sitting there, inspecting him thoroughly. Finally, she found the knife wound on his left palm.

Adam’s action included a deliberate attempt to sway her, to soften her heart. But the cut was indeed a real one on his palm.

His left hand was bloody, with crimson fluid continuously flowing down his fingertips, dripping relentlessly onto the floor.

The coffee stain on his satin handmade white shirt was remarkably conspicuous, evidently showing he hadn’t changed after soiling his shirt and had rushed here to wait for her.

Seeing the blood, Olivia’s breath hitched. She grabbed his injured hand and asked quickly and urgently, ”Is there a medicine box here?”

”Probably not, this is a conference room, generally hotels don’t place these here.” Adam pulled his hand back as if he wasn’t the one injured, saying, ”My hand is bloody, be careful not to dirty your clothes.”

”Is this really the time to worry about clothes!” Olivia said in frustration and urgency, knowing well that he deliberately injured himself; knowing it wasn’t life-threatening, yet she couldn’t control her worry and anxiety.

”I’ll go ask for a medicine box at the front desk, wait for me here.” She decided swiftly, releasing her grip and heading out.

Adam didn’t stop her.

Because he knew Olivia would surely return.

Sure enough, in less than five minutes, she returned with a medicine box.

”Get your hand out, sit on the sofa.” Olivia opened the medicine box and took out the disinfectant alcohol.

Adam obediently sat on the sofa and extended his injured left hand.

The small knife was thin and narrow, the sharpest kind, and had pierced through his entire palm. No wonder she felt in the dark that it had stabbed into bone.

What’s the difference between piercing through the bones in the palm and stabbing into bone?

Seeing his heart-wrenching wound, Olivia paused her actions, furrowing her brow as she opened the cap of the alcohol bottle, grasping his wrist and saying, ”It might hurt a bit, bear with it.”

As she said this, she directly poured the alcohol from the bottle onto his hand, washing away the blood stains on his palm...

Alcohol will hurt on a wound, let alone being poured directly on it like this. Adam frowned but didn’t utter a sound.

Olivia poured the alcohol directly on his wound partly out of anger at his self-harm to gain her sympathy, and partly because his palm was too bloodstained to clean slowly.
