Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 3069: Chapter 3078: Adam Sinclair’s Phone Turned Off

”The doctor said if someone had informed them in time when I fell down the stairs, the child in my belly wouldn’t have been lost. But at that time, Ms. Lewis completely ignored me and followed Mrs. Lawrence. Later, she said the Little Princess of the Lawrence Corporation had taken a fall. I don’t even know why the Little Princess would fall, but even if she did, it’s just a child falling. Why wouldn’t Ms. Lewis call for medical staff to help me first? If she had called the doctor then, the child in my belly could have been saved.”

The last word she uttered was heart-wrenching, tears streaming down incessantly. Combined with her haggard appearance, she did appear quite pitiable.

Benjamin Sinclair was already dissatisfied with Olivia Lewis; coupled with Renee Anderson deliberately inciting discord in his ear, he became even more displeased with Olivia Lewis’ handling of the situation at the time.

He didn’t like Olivia Lewis from the start, and after hearing what Renee said, he also believed Olivia Lewis had encouraged the Lawrence Little Prince to take action after learning that Renee was carrying Adam’s child. Later, she found excuses to ignore Renee, allowing the miscarriage to occur, and then ran off to his son acting pitiful.

Benjamin Sinclair grew increasingly unlike Olivia Lewis.

After buying a bouquet at the flower shop, he then followed Renee to the hospital to visit Father Anderson lying in bed, briefly mentioning the matter of the Branch Office to Father Anderson, exchanged a few pleasantries, and left the hospital.

When he returned to the villa, he immediately asked the servant at home, ”Has Adam returned?”

Auntie Merry noticed his bad mood, cautiously took his coat, and softly replied, ”The Young Master hasn’t returned, he might have gone to the South Garden.”

Benjamin Sinclair furrowed his brow, intuitively sensing that Adam hadn’t gone to the South Garden but was with Olivia Lewis. He hadn’t cared before, but suddenly he instructed Auntie Merry, ”Call him and let him come home for dinner, I have some matters to discuss with him.”

”Alright, Director Sinclair.” Auntie Merry, observing his mood was sour and possibly intending to trouble Adam, had already decided to discreetly warn Adam on the phone. After hanging up Benjamin Sinclair’s coat, she went to call Adam but unexpectedly found Adam’s phone was turned off.

She quietly sent a reminder text to Adam’s phone, then returned carrying the phone to the man resting on the sofa, saying politely, ”Director Sinclair, the Young Master’s phone is turned off.”

”Why is his phone turned off for no good reason?” Benjamin Sinclair grumbled in annoyance, yet restrained himself, asking her, ”And the Madam? Hasn’t she returned either?”

Auntie Merry lowered her head, calmly responding, ”The Madam called ahead saying she has an important meeting tonight, won’t be returning home, will stay directly at the hotel. She needs to go on a business trip to Spirelin City early tomorrow.”

”...” Benjamin Sinclair’s face suddenly became very unpleasant.

Auntie Merry was prepared to endure his wrath, but surprisingly Benjamin Sinclair did not erupt in anger; after a brief moment of fury, he leaned back on the sofa, shielding his eyes with a hand, and tiredly rested his head against the sofa, ”Do you think this place even feels like a home...”

Often, he’s the only one at home. In this vast villa, it always feels to him like it’s merely a place he resides in. It has nothing to do with Sydney Sullivan or Adam, they have never considered this a home.

Auntie Merry glanced at him secretly, feeling both sympathy for him and that he deserved it.

Auntie Merry dared not respond; the luxurious villa fell silent once again, as if Benjamin Sinclair had never uttered his weary sentiments...
