Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2978: Chapter 2987: Renee’s Mom Still Dares to Make a Scene

”I was clearly rushing to the hospital after receiving a call from my mom to visit my dad. Then I happened to run into you all on the way. Afterward, there was a bit of a dispute between me and Ms. Lewis, and in the chaos, I didn’t see who pushed me down the stairs...”

She wisely avoided claiming it was Olivia Lewis who pushed her, only saying she couldn’t see clearly in the confusion. But her implication was almost as if she had said it outright.

”I didn’t go looking for trouble with Ms. Lewis; I was anxious to check on my dad, so how could I run off to confront someone else?” Renee Anderson touched her belly, lowered her head, revealing a look of humiliation and pain, and voluntarily said, ”Uncle Sinclair, forget it. Now the truth doesn’t matter anymore, and my baby is gone anyway. I’m tired, Mom, let’s go.”

Mrs. Anderson was shocked, frowned and glared at her, ”What nonsense are you talking? Isn’t the child in your belly Adam’s? Wasn’t it his girlfriend who deliberately pushed you down those stairs to cause the miscarriage? If you leave now, doesn’t it mean you’re admitting to the dirty water they’re throwing at you!”

”Mom, please stop talking...” Renee cried out, covering her face.

The wealthy lady angrily raised her head to look at Benjamin Sinclair in the crowd, furiously questioning, ”Director Sinclair, is this your explanation to us? The child Renee carried was your own grandson, and you’re casually letting her be bullied? I don’t care about anything else, but at least Young Master Sinclair and his girlfriend should give my family some explanation! Otherwise, I’m calling the police to sort this out!”

Benjamin Sinclair felt overwhelmed, raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, ”Mrs. Anderson, please don’t be anxious, let me thoroughly investigate what happened before we discuss this further.”

”Investigate? How will you investigate? Once today is over, you’ll have full control over the narrative. From the beginning, Young Master Sinclair didn’t want to recognize the child Renee carried. How much has he done to avoid acknowledging the child! Now the baby is gone, and he can bully Renee further for the sake of that female star. What did my Renee do wrong to deserve being mistreated like this? They’ve grown up together, and yet... after all these years of friendship, it still doesn’t surpass a female star. Is this how the Sinclair family bullies people?”

She didn’t target anyone specifically, but kept pressing on Olivia Lewis, which could be considered the smartest approach. After all, now whether Enna Clark or Bobby or Adam Sinclair are people she can’t afford to offend, only Olivia Lewis lacks a background, and Benjamin Sinclair doesn’t like her.

Benjamin Sinclair frowned, displeased by her repeated persistence, but he still, like before, didn’t want the Anderson family to alert the police and escalate the matter.

He pondered for a moment, turned his head, and said to the man beside him, ”Adam, you should just break up with that female star. Regardless if today’s events are related to her, they happened because of her. A woman like that isn’t worthy of you and could never join the Sinclair family’s doors! Just use this opportunity to break up with her, and later allow your mom to find someone more suitable for you.”

Upon hearing his words, Mrs. Anderson turned livid with anger, just about to question what he meant. Didn’t he earlier say he would let her daughter marry into the family?

Just before she almost spoke, the sobbing Renee discreetly grabbed her hand, shook her head at her, signaling not to be impatient.

The moment she decided to let the child go, she didn’t count on Benjamin Sinclair to keep his promise.
