Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2963: Chapter 2972: Adam Sinclair’s Plan Worked

With Adam Sinclair’s covert help, Austin Harper easily found out what had happened at the bar that day. Not only that, to give him a clearer view of Renee Anderson being the one who had someone drug the drink, Adam had someone send the surveillance videos to him through the people Austin found.

The video contained a very clear segment, showing Renee leading a dazed him out of the taxi.

There was also a segment of footage of her giving money to the boss lady after a conversation.

This footage was found afterwards by his people from the apartment boss lady, who, afraid of trouble, proactively handed over the video. This video was captured by the only surveillance camera in the apartment. Although the image quality was unclear, this video could at least provide third-party evidence proving that Renee was not just taking him to the hotel to rest.

Austin Harper finished reviewing all the investigation results, and felt an indescribable sense of oppression and discomfort in his chest. Clinging to the last sliver of hope, he made a phone call to the apartment boss lady.

”Hello.” His call was quickly picked up.

It was the apartment boss lady’s phone!

Austin’s heartbeat thundered, unaware of what kind of answer he wanted to hear by making this call, ”I’m the one who bought your apartment that day.”

The boss lady seemed stunned for a moment, ”Oh, it’s you.”

Then impatiently said, ”Why are you calling me? You were the one who wanted to buy that apartment. I did confirm it with you clearly. If you regret it now, I won’t refund the money!”

”I am not calling to refund the money,” Austin interrupted her.

The boss lady became even more impatient, ”Then why are you calling me? To chat?”

Austin pursed his lips tightly, enduring a pain that was far less than the one in his heart, and lowered his eyelids, speaking with difficulty, ”I want to ask you something. That day, what was the situation when Sister Renee brought my friend to your apartment hotel, can you tell me in detail.”

”That man was your friend? Tsk tsk, young people really know how to have fun. That guy was your friend, and you even helped that woman clean up the mess afterwards, your friend was really unlucky.” The boss lady sighed and then said without any reservation, ”That day the apartment hotel I listed online was just booked for one night when the customer came. It was the Renee you mentioned, she brought a semi-comatose man by taxi. She called me in advance and asked me to help assist him up. I was waiting for her by the elevator. When they arrived, I noticed something was wrong with the man, and asked her about it. She told me she was having an affair with your friend, that your friend drank too much, and gave me 150 dollars to secretly call her when someone came looking for them.”

Austin’s hand holding the phone trembled continuously, while the boss lady’s words kept coming through the phone, ”Not long after, sure enough, someone came knocking, and the man leading the group, tsk tsk... was so handsome. That aura, you could tell he was someone I couldn’t afford to mess with. I’m a businesswoman, I have to do what I’m paid for, or what if she leaves me a bad review online?

I still followed the agreement with your Sister Renee and gave her a heads-up call, delaying some time. Then from the conversation of a few people afterwards, I realized I was deceived! I kept wondering how a man could be so drunk just from drinking! The truth was she put something in his drink! In all my years, it was the first time I heard of a woman drugging a man and trying to force herself on him! Really brings shame to us women! Then you came, and she called you to take the fall, and you really took it for her...”
