Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1604: Chapter 1604: The Result of the Shareholders’ Meeting

A few secretaries opened the two boxes in public and recorded each vote. The results were soon handed over to the head of the Public Relations Department.

The head of the Public Relations Department first took the card with a relaxed and confident look. He then opened it, took a glance, and suddenly his expression changed drastically. He looked as if he had been slapped, his face turned a mix of blue, white, and purple, and he stood frozen on the spot.

“This…”

He couldn’t believe the result he saw, and instinctively looked towards Skye Lawrence, as if seeking an explanation.

The veins on the back of Skye Lawrence’s hand were bulging. She maintained a composed and serene appearance through sheer self-control, but the slightly raised chin couldn’t hide her tightly pressed lips, devoid of any smile.

The head of the Public Relations Department saw something on her face, and the hand holding the card started to tremble uncontrollably. His series of reactions were both awkward and stiff, but he still forced a smile and announced, “The results of this shareholders’ meeting are out. Young Master Lawrence has a support rate of 78%, while Ms. Skye has a support rate of 22%. Young Master… Young Master Lawrence has won the shareholders’ recognition with an overwhelming advantage and will continue to serve as the President of Lawrence Corporation!”

78% and 22%, a difference of threefold.

Skye Lawrence seemed like she had been slapped hard in the face, her face fluctuating between blue and white.

But she was much more composed than the head of the Public Relations Department. Even though the results were completely unexpected, she still curved her lips into a smile, maintaining the demeanor of the First Young Lady of the Lawrence Family. She stood up and said, “Congratulations, Baron.”

Baron Lawrence also stood up, glanced at the hand she extended towards him, his eyes deep, and then turned his head away. As if he hadn’t seen the hand held out in front of him, he instructed his assistant beside him, “In five minutes, convene a meeting in my usual conference room! Notify all department heads to attend.”

“Yes, President Lawrence.”

The assistant didn’t expect the results to be so dramatic, that the First Young Lady would lose, and by such a large margin.

This…

The assistant raised a proper smile and said to the shareholders, “Ladies and gentlemen, please follow me. I will arrange for you to go to the conference room right away.”

“Sorry, please follow me.”

“Sorry.”

The secretaries began to move as well, leading the shareholders towards the adjacent conference room.

The large conference room suddenly became noisy. Dozens of people stood up, whispering about the results just announced.

From time to time, some people glanced in her direction.

Skye Lawrence’s hand was stiffly raised in mid-air. She could feel the scrutinizing gazes from all directions. Those gazes carried curiosity, spectatorship, and… appraisal!

She slowly withdrew her hand from mid-air. Her heroic and beautiful face showed no panic despite the loss. She calmly said to the handsome man in front of her, “I didn’t expect you to detect my manipulation in the stocks so early. You won this time. But losing one battle doesn’t mean I’ve lost everything. Baron, you’d better seriously consider what I said. Even if you won the shareholders’ meeting this time, the Lawrence Corporation’s liquidity issues remain unsolved. A marriage alliance is the best solution!”

“Skye Lawrence, you should see Thomas!”

Thomas was the family psychiatrist of the Lawrence Family!

Skye Lawrence’s beautiful eyes darkened.

Before she could speak, Baron Lawrence didn’t even give her a glance. He left her standing and walked towards Enna Clark’s direction…

He had given her a chance, and the path ahead was her own choice. Even if she had to walk on her knees, she had to see it through!
