Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 592: Chapter 592: A Small Warning

At the same time, Li Beijue’s laptop in the study began to ring with an incoming video call.

His eyebrows suddenly knitted together as he pressed the answer button.

The high-definition projection instantly cast the old man’s dignified facial features onto the wall, and even through the screen, one could feel the overwhelming sense of oppression.

“What is it?” Li Beijue seemed oblivious to the immense pressure he emanated, his face expressionless, his voice icy cold.

“How have you been getting along with Zhiyuan recently?” Old Master Li asked directly, unfazed by his grandson’s demeanor.

Li Beijue narrowed his eyes, repressing the impatience that flickered there, “Not bad.”

...

“When do you plan to get engaged?”

“Engaged?” Li Beijue’s jaw tightened suddenly, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the other end of the screen, “I remember only promising you that I would consider courting Kim Zhi**, not an engagement.”

Originally, when Chi Enen was kidnapped, he had wanted to find her as soon as possible, so he sought the Old Master’s help.

At the same time, he had agreed to give a relationship with Kim Zhiyuan a try, at the Old Master’s request.

But that condition merely included pretending to court Kim Zhiyuan; it had said nothing about an engagement!

“There wasn’t one before, but there can be now,” Old Master Li stated indifferently, his tone authoritative, “Zhiyuan has a younger sister named Zhixuan, who is suitable for you. You two should get engaged.”

“I’m not interested!”

All this Zhiyuan, Zhixuan, Zhi-flat nonsense, he had no interest in it!

He was only interested in Chi Enen!

“I’m not asking for your opinion.”

The black depths of Li Beijue’s eyes darkened, his thin lips parted, unyielding, “Neither am I asking for yours! I believe you’re well aware that there’s a woman I like, and I will not marry anyone else. Besides, I’m already married.”

“That’s nothing more than playing house, a child’s game!” Old Master Li didn’t take his words seriously and went on, “I’ve already sent Zhixuan to Country Y. She should arrive tomorrow; you will pick her up from the airport.”

Before Li Beijue could refuse, a flicker of viciousness crossed the old man’s eyes, “Beijue, as my grandson, I’ve indulged you for a long time. It’s time to stop playing around. If you go too far, I’ll have to intervene. I won’t touch you, but that doesn’t mean I won’t touch others.”

Was he referring to—Chi Enen?!

Li Beijue’s face abruptly turned ugly!

“I’ve given you a little warning, Beijue. You are the grandson I am most proud of; do not disappoint me. That’s it, think it over carefully on your own.”

The image on the wall flickered and then returned to its original state.

No sooner had the video call ended than his mobile phone began to vibrate frantically. He glanced at the incoming calls display, answered the call, “Speak.”

“Lin Anxin has been kidnapped. I’ve checked the identity of her kidnappers, and it leads back to your family. Beijue, what’s going on?”

It was Si Chen’s voice.

Before Li Beijue could reply, his mobile phone vibrated, a text message came in. He removed the phone from his ear and opened the text—Master Jue, the Old Master’s men have taken Miss Chi’s grandfather from the nursing home.

His pupils suddenly shrank to the size of needle-tips, his chest heaved with violent emotion, and the surge of fury nearly reversed the flow of his blood!

“Beijue, are you listening to me? Lin Anxin…”

Li Beijue abruptly stood up, gripping the mobile phone tightly, then forcefully smashed it against the wall!

The custom-made mobile phone, one of no more than three in the entire world, shattered into pieces on impact! The broken screen rolled on the ground before coming to a stop by the trash can!

He suddenly clenched his fist and pounded it on the office desk, “Shit!”
