Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 586: Chapter 586: Just Looking Annoys Me

How did you meet Li Beijue?

Chi Enen simply couldn’t say she met him on the bed.

Not to mention the process wasn’t romantic at all, it was also very painful, the kind of tearing pain that she could feel clearly even though she was drugged at the time.

However, she didn’t plan to tell Lin Nai any of this.

“Not romantic,” she said.

Lin Nai, repelled by her seemingly effortless deflection, eventually realized that Chi Enen didn’t want to talk about it and quietly changed the subject, starting to share anecdotes from their childhood.

...

But Chi Enen couldn’t remember any of those so-called fun stories. Some that she did recall were not the tales of sisterly love that Lin Nai described, but rather versions featuring Lin Nai’s one-sided pranks.

They hardly spent any time playing together as children, and Lin Nai looked down on playing with her; whenever Chi Enen came around, Lin Nai would grab her toys and run off to find others to play with. Thus, despite Lin Nai’s effort to wrack her brain for memories, she could only recount a few events, unable to recall any other instances that involved both of them.

The atmosphere gradually became awkward.

Then, a lightbulb went off in Lin Nai’s head, and she suddenly remembered something, “Right, do you remember when we played a trick on Chi Ya? She kept bragging about her new skirt and said we couldn’t afford it. Together we ruined her skirt by scratching it, remember? When Chi Ya saw it, her nose was running with tears. It was so hilarious, haha…”

Chi Enen remembered that incident. She glanced at the excited Lin Nai and quietly placed a napkin on Baby Chi’s leg, saying, “You’re mistaken, it wasn’t ‘we’ who scratched her skirt, it was you. And you’ve forgotten what happened afterward. Chi Ya was so upset she cried, then she went to complain to Gu Qiaomei and you told her that I was the one who scratched it, then you went home.”

Because of that incident, she was severely scolded by Chi Jianguo, and as a punishment, she was not allowed to eat that evening. She was also forced to apologize to Chi Ya.

Lin Nai genuinely didn’t remember these details; she only remembered that Chi Ya cried and it made her feel especially proud. Details of what happened to Chi Enen escaped her younger self, who also didn’t care about Chi Enen’s wellbeing at that time. She assumed, talking about Chi Ya’s misfortune would delight Chi Enen, since she too disliked Chi Ya. But attempt to flatter backfired, and sheepishly, Lin Nai added, “Oh, is that so?”

Just then, the waiter served the dishes, including Lin Nai’s ordered steak. To hide her discomfort, she began to eat in silence.

Chi Enen was glad she quieted down and didn’t bother with her anymore, focusing on eating with Baby Chi instead.

The meal was eaten in utter silence.

Lin Nai ate with exceptional awkwardness.

As soon as the meal was over, she hastily stood up, said her goodbyes to Chi Enen, and scurried off…

After she left, Chi Enen called the waiter again and ordered a few dishes that Li Beijue usually liked, asking the waiter to deliver them to the room once they were ready. She then headed back with Baby Chi.

On the way back, Baby Chi pouted and complained to her, “Woman, I don’t like her. Don’t let her eat with us again next time; she’s so annoying to look at!”

Chi Enen pinched his cheek and laughed, “What do you know about being annoyed, when you’re just a tiny tot?”

“I know it when I see her!” Baby Chi huffed, his little mouth cursing without using any dirty words. He looked up at her and reiterated, “Anyway, you shouldn’t bother with her anymore, she’s clearly not a good person! Don’t end up sold and still be counting the buyer’s money!”

Chi Enen didn’t know if she took his words to heart as she held his hand and entered the elevator.
