Chapter 139, Condensing the Spirit Sword

Translator: Silavin

Sword Control Technique. Strictly speaking, it was not a Sword Technique, but a Secret Technique for controlling swords.

The creator of this Secret Technique was named the Sword Controlling Hermit. He practised the Dao of the Sword his entire life, and just before his death, he suddenly had an Enlightenment and comprehended the Sword Control Technique.

The difference from ordinary sword techniques was, first of all, the sword used in the Sword Control Technique. It was not an ordinary sharp sword, but rather… a Spirit Sword condensed from the Yuan Energy within one’s body!

The strength of the Spirit Sword was, of course, closely related to one’s own Yuan Energy.

In his previous life, Qin Yichen did not focus on the Dao of Martial Arts, and with his ordinary Yuan Energy, even if he practised this Sword Control Technique, it would not have been very useful, so he had set it aside.

But now, it was different.

Although the colour of his current Yuan Energy was not much different from ordinary Yuan Energy, it possessed the sharpness of a sword and the ferocity and heat of fire… it was of an extremely Special Attribute.

Without a doubt, this first aspect made it very suitable for the Sword Control Technique. He even felt that this Sword Control Technique was tailor-made for him.

If he could condense a Spirit Sword, who could withstand its sharpness!?

“This is it!” Qin Yichen quickly made his decision. [The first step in practising the Sword Control Technique is to condense my Spirit Sword! Use Yuan Energy as the sword’s body, use my Soul as its edge…]

He silently recited the incantation for condensing the Spirit Sword, struggling to comprehend the literal meaning. Only when he felt he had memorised every word did he relax.

The Sword Control Technique, in fact, besides one’s own Yuan Energy, required strong Spiritual Energy attainments to work. After the Spirit Sword was condensed, it was controlled by Spiritual Energy.

For ordinary Martial Artists, this was naturally an enormous challenge, making the Sword Control Technique impossible to practise. But coincidentally, Qin Yichen’s greatest strength was his Spiritual Energy!

Condensing the Spirit Sword carried certain risks. If it failed, one would suffer from the backlash of Yuan Energy. Fortunately, Qin Yichen was not afraid of this, because his Physique, due to the tempering of the Thousand Year Old Spirit Milk, had far surpassed his supposed Martial Artist cultivation realm.

After simulating the process of refining the Spirit Sword in his mind several times, Qin Yichen began to circulate the Spirit Body Technique, adjusting his state to its peak.

*Huff…* After exhaling a long breath, Qin Yichen silently said ‘begin’, and his consciousness sank into his Dantian.

Under his control, the Yuan Energy in his Dantian began to churn, slowly starting to condense, forming the shape of a sword.

However, this sword only had form, not essence. It was merely an empty shell.

After this illusionary sword took shape, Qin Yichen silently recited the incantation of the Sword Control Technique. His Spiritual Energy moved with his will, and the mist-like sword embryo began to change…

On the floating sword’s body, lines gradually appeared, giving the sword-shaped embryo, which only had the form of a sword, more angles.

*Crack!* However, this sword shape did not last long before a faint sound was heard. Then, the sword body shattered inch by inch, turning into a wild energy that chaotically crashed around in his Dantian.

*Hmph!* Even with his robust physique, Qin Yichen still grunted, his face changing.

Clearly, this backlash was not easy on him.

It was fortunate that he was a freak of nature. Otherwise, if it was anyone else, they would have been bedridden for at least ten days to half a month after such an incident.

Qin Yichen was not too surprised by the first failure. If the Spirit Sword could be condensed so easily, that would have been strange.

After consuming a Pill and recovering for a while, Qin Yichen once again calmed his mind and continued to condense the Spirit Sword.

*Crack!*

Failure.

*Crack!*

Another failure!

As time passed, Qin Yichen seemed tireless, trying again and again.

Although he had not succeeded, he became more proficient with the incantation of the Sword Control Technique, and the speed of the condensation became increasingly rapid. Moreover, the illusionary sword he condensed became more solid, unlike the cloud-like sword in earlier attempts. Visually, now, it had a metallic quality. Even the angles of the sword’s body became more distinct, becoming much clearer. Faintly, it seemed that a sharp aura was emanating from it.

For a full three days, Qin Yichen was in this cycle. He had failed so many times, it was uncountable.

“Condense!” Qin Yichen’s gaze locked onto the sword embryo that was about to take shape. Suddenly, he shouted again, and mysterious patterns rapidly covered the entire sword body.

*Hum…* As the patterns expanded, the sword trembled, emitting the sound of metal clashing. Then, the angles slowly appeared, looking more substantial.

After the sword condensed, Qin Yichen did not relax but instead became even more tense, because the next step was the most crucial in condensing the Spirit Sword… Infusing in Soul into it!

Infusing his Soul meant integrating Spiritual Energy into the sword, thereby achieving the effect of sword control.

This was particularly difficult. Even the Sword Control Hermit who created the Sword Control Technique had put in a great effort to succeed.

This shows how difficult Soul Infusion was.

This also directly raised the threshold for practising the Sword Control Technique.

*Hum…* As his Spiritual Energy was infused, the entire sword began to vibrate violently, while Qin Yichen was exerting all his effort to maintain its shape.

At this moment, his superior Spiritual Energy attainments were perfectly demonstrated.

He watched every subtle change in the sword’s body after the infusion of Spiritual Energy, every tiny fluctuation.

However, as time passed, the sword vibrated more violently, putting more pressure on him. In his Knowledge Sea, bursts of pain frequently struck his nerves.

In just a moment, Qin Yichen was drenched in sweat, with bean-sized sweat drops falling from his forehead like rain. But he seemed to have long adapted to this. Without the slightest distraction, all his energy remained focused on maintaining the sword’s body.

*Crack! Crack!*

The patterns on the sword body kept breaking one after another, but were quickly repaired.

Qin Yichen seemed to have become numb to the pain.

This situation continued for about a quarter of an hour before the repulsive force in the sword body gradually weakened.

When Qin Yichen sensed that the repulsive force had completely disappeared, his tense body immediately collapsed. He fell to the ground, mouth open, breathing heavily.

“No wonder the Sword Control Hermit could not find a Successor. If I hadn’t regressed and taken the Thousand Year Old Spirit Milk, just condensing the Spirit Sword would have taken decades…” Qin Yichen inwardly sighed.

How many decades does a person have in their life? Even if one obtained this Sword Control Technique, probably few would choose to practise it.

After recovering for a moment, Qin Yichen opened his palm, and a white sword tip slowly appeared from his palm…
