Alchemy Master

Chapter 126, The First Assessment

Qin Yichen naturally knew how much trouble he would attract by standing here. Nevertheless, he dared to stand here because he naturally had made all the preparations.

As long as he won first place and gained the qualification for the Alchemy Tower test, no Family would dare to touch him!

After all, they could not afford the wrath of the Alchemy Tower.

So, Qin Yichen still had a carefree expression, even though Wang Muyu beside him was about to explode with rage, he did not even spare a glance at him.

He was thoroughly ignored!

Soon, on each blue stone platform below, someone had delivered a set of medicinal herbs, with a thin paper covering them.

Qin Yichen casually picked up the thin paper, his gaze sweeping over it lightly, then he was surprised to find that this was actually a First Grade Pill Formula. What made Qin Yichen speechless was that this formula was very messy, obviously hastily scribbled down.

Generally speaking, traditional formulas would clearly write down the order of ingredients to be added and their amounts without any error, but the formula in his hand was a complete mess, with some medicinal herbs not even having their amounts written.

When the participants’ gazes fell on the medicinal herbs in front of them, most of their expressions immediately became dazed!

Because the set of medicinal herbs in front of them actually consisted of dozens of different medicinal herbs and materials mixed together… they even saw that among these mixed medicinal herbs, there were materials that did not appear in the formula.

[Just what is this!?] Many of them were completely bewildered. The formula did not specify amounts, and the medicinal herbs provided were a mess. They did not even know how to start.

“Interesting.” As for Qin Yichen, after just a glance, the corner of his mouth curled into a smile.

This seemingly clueless formula and medicinal herbs were actually testing many aspects of their basic skills…

First was familiarity with the formula.

Ordinary formulas generally consist of ten to twenty different medicinal herbs combined, and with the precision of amounts, trying to memorise them can be a very troublesome thing. Many Alchemy Masters were unwilling to memorise them. After all, they could always refer to the formula.

The formula placed in front of them happened to be a basic, rarely used Flowing Cloud Pill formula.

This Flowing Cloud Pill actually had no effect, it only aided sleep. How could ordinary Alchemy Masters have memorised it?

This undoubtedly increased the difficulty even more.

Second was the identification of medicinal herbs.

Among them, many kinds of medicinal herbs looked similar, even their smells were similar in some aspects, but once used wrongly, it would lead to failure in refining.

Third was the basic skills of alchemy.

Things that seemed chaotic actually contained things that only a few people could see. It seemed that this first item would eliminate most people.

“So it’s the Flowing Cloud Pill…” On another high platform, Wang Muyu quickly identified it.

To please his Father, he had specially refined quite a few. He did not expect it to become an advantage to him now.

“It seems some people won’t even pass the first round.” Wang Muyu’s gaze looked towards Qin Yichen, and when he found that the latter was still staring blankly at the formula in his hand, he could not help but flash a mocking look in his eyes. He wanted to see how this kid would get off the stage later!

Although this place was in the spotlight, if one did not have the ability but stood up here, they would eventually be ridiculed by thousands.

After many Alchemy Masters had already started refining, Qin Yichen finally put down the formula in his hand with furrowed brows.

Refining the Flowing Cloud Pill was not difficult for him at all. In fact, he even had several methods to improve it.

This expression he had was only due to him struggling on whether to improve it or not.

*Bang!…*

While he was still thinking, not far away, a light sound came from a blue stone platform. Only to see a round Pill fly out, then skillfully placed into a prepared wooden box by that Alchemy Master.

“Third Grade Pill!” Immediately, someone with sharp eyes exclaimed.

In such a short time, not only identifying the formula, distinguishing the medicinal herbs, but also successfully refining a Third Grade Pill, all of this indicated that this Alchemy Master’s strength was extraordinary.

However, it seemed that this Alchemy Master who was the first to successfully refine was not from the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty.

Although he was not standing on the high platform in the spotlight like Wang Muyu and others, his eyes were full of contempt for the surrounding Alchemy Masters.

At this time, Wang Muyu, as the Alchemy Prodigy second only to Zhou Tianwei, was still in the process of refining.

The gap between the two was actually already very obvious.

*Bang!* Not long after, Wang Muyu successfully refined his Pill.

He wiped the fake sweat on his forehead, looking at the Pill in his hand with self-satisfaction.

In such a short time, he successfully refined a Second Grade Pill. This was already something to be proud of.

However, the expected cheers and congratulations did not come. At this time, Wang Muyu discovered that everyone’s gazes were looking towards that inconspicuous small blue platform.

There, a man obviously younger than him stood there leisurely, with a small wooden box placed in front of him.

“How is this possible?” He was a bit incredulous that someone was faster than him even though he was familiar with the formula.

Soon, Young Master Wang encountered the second person who ignored him in one day.

Like Qin Yichen, that Alchemy Master from another dynasty directly ignored his existence.

“It’s good that he’s not from our dynasty, I just need to become the best in the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty…” Soon, Wang Muyu withdrew his gaze with a gloomy face, and there was even some relief in his eyes.

He did not care about the so-called Alchemy Tower spot! Because in his view, even if he got it, it would just be a trip to the Central Province. He did not think he would be chosen by the Alchemy Tower.

Wang Muyu looked at Qin Yichen beside him again.

At this time, Qin Yichen had already started throwing medicinal herbs into the Pill Furnace.

He did not separate all the medicinal herbs first like everyone else, but directly selected what he wanted from that messy pile of medicinal herbs and threw them into the Pill Furnace.

“Is this guy planning to completely give up?” Wang Muyu was first stunned, then the corner of his mouth revealed a cold smile.

How could a mere ordinary Alchemy Master possibly refine a First Grade Pill?!

However, while he was smirking, Qin Yichen had already selected the medicinal herbs and covered the Pill Furnace.

[How poor and shabby!] Seeing that old and worn small Pill Furnace that Qin Yichen was using, these few words floated in Wang Muyu’s mind.

For a good Alchemy Master, the most important thing besides talent is their Pill Furnace! The Pill Furnace could be said to be an Alchemy Master’s second life. Without a good Pill Furnace, even if one’s strength is strong, the Pills refined would be greatly discounted.

Wang Muyu really did not know how someone who did not understand such simple principles could stand on this platform.
