Alchemy Master

Chapter 131, Fourth Grade Pill

Translator: Silavin

Lu Heze learned about the competition situation from Gu Ye.

His gaze turned towards the young Alchemy Master from the Brilliant Martial Country, his brows slightly furrowed.

That Alchemy Master seemed to sense his gaze and met his eyes. Not only did he show no fear, but he even raised an eyebrow in challenge, directly adopting an attitude of ‘what can you do about it?’

Lu Heze’s eyes narrowed, anger surging in his heart. However, he knew he could not kill this Alchemy Master. If anything happened to this Alchemy Master, it would give the Brilliant Martial Country a better excuse to invade his Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty. He naturally would never take such a foolish action.

“Being able to refine a Third Grade Pill, within our dynasty, only the Zhou Family’s Tianwei can compare to him. Why isn’t Tianwei participating?” Lu Heze was somewhat confused. He looked towards the blue stone high platform and saw that the youth Lu Heshang had mentioned was standing in the position that was originally Zhou Tianwei’s.

“If he can’t win, then no one in our dynasty can match the opponent!” Master Gu Ye gave his answer.

“Oh?” Lu Heze then began to carefully observe Qin Yichen. There was nothing particularly extraordinary about this youth. The fluctuations of Spiritual Energy around him were not very strong, just at the Peak Martial Master Realm.

If there was anything outstanding… He was just very confident! Extremely confident.

On his face, Lu Heze saw fearlessness, natural arrogance, relaxed demeanour, without any nervousness. It seemed he did not regard the other participants with any importance at all!

As the ruler of a country, Lu Heze did have the ability to judge people. He could tell that this demeanour was definitely not something that could be developed overnight.

Everyone has fear in their heart. Even he, the King of the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty, was not without it.

But in Qin Yichen’s eyes, he did not see fear. It was as if nothing could block his path.

“Next is the final round of the competition.”

After everything was ready, Master Gu Ye stood up again and announced, “Now, use the twenty kinds of medicinal herbs in front of you to refine any kind of Pill. Whoever’s Pill has the best effect, Highest Grade, and best quality will obtain the qualification for the Alchemy Tower!”

Everyone had the same medicinal herbs, exactly twenty kinds, no more, no less.

It was worth mentioning that these medicinal herbs were not the formula for any particular Pill. On the contrary, if these herbs were really condensed together, it would be absolutely impossible to form a Pill.

Now, what they had to do was to combine several of these herbs and refine them into a Pill.

This round was undeniably difficult.

The previous two rounds of assessment could be considered basic skills, but this final round was testing individual creativity.

Compared to the worried looks of other participants, Qin Yichen just glanced at the twenty kinds of medicinal herbs and already had several combination methods in mind.

This time, he did not choose to hide his abilities and act low-key. Even when the person from the Brilliant Martial Country was still pondering, Qin Yichen had already started the fire.

Then, under countless astonished gazes, he directly threw thirteen of the medicinal herbs into the Pill Furnace in varying amounts.

*Pat pat pat…* Next, his palms turned into afterimages, patting on the small Pill Furnace. A series of sounds, seemingly without rhythm, but with a strange sense of cadence, did not sound chaotic at all.

In the entire venue, only Master Gu Ye and Zhou Tianwei focused their gazes on his hands.

“Showing off!” Wang Muyu coldly shouted.

That young Alchemy Master from the Brilliant Martial Country also turned his gaze over. Although he did not speak, from the expression on his face, it was clear that he felt very disdainful of Qin Yichen’s behaviour.

Even Lu Heze, standing beside Master Gu Ye, also thought that his actions were somewhat careless and rash.

However, while they were still speculating or mocking, Qin Yichen suddenly slapped hard on the small Pill Furnace…

*Bang!* With a crisp sound, the furnace lid opened, and a Pill soared out.

The entire process took less than three minutes!

The whole venue fell silent, so quiet they could hear a pin drop. Everyone’s minds simply could not process what had happened.

Even for Master Gu Ye, refining the Lowest Grade Pill would take over ten minutes. Just in terms of time, Qin Yichen’s performance was already unmatched.

Then, when everyone’s gaze fell on that Pill, they could not help but gasp.

That Pill was not only smooth, but also had a brilliant lustre and a lingering medicinal fragrance… At a glance, it was clearly not an ordinary Pill.

Judging by its appearance, it was definitely not inferior to the Third Grade Pill refined by the Alchemy Master from the Brilliant Martial Country.

In other words, just now, in three minutes, Qin Yichen had refined a Pill surpassing Third Grade! A Fourth Grade Pill!

How hard was it to refine a Fourth Grade Pill!? In alchemy, there were absolutely no shortcuts. Only years of accumulated experience could lead to more perfect Pill condensation.

Even for this young genius Alchemy Master from the Brilliant Martial Country, refining a Third Grade Pill was already his limit.

Fourth Grade? He could not even think about it.

He wanted to question if it was deliberately rigged. How else could Qin Yichen refine a Pill so quickly? He must have known the properties of these medicinal herbs in advance and prepared for it.

But after seeing that Fourth Grade Pill, he opened his mouth but found he had nothing to say.

Those things could be rigged, but this Fourth Grade Pill refined in public was indisputable.

Wang Muyu was completely stunned. He stood there wooden, his pupils looking very hollow. Obviously, he was very unwilling to accept this fact.

He was in the closest position to Qin Yichen, so he could naturally see at a glance that it was indeed a Fourth Grade Pill, and moreover, one of excellent quality.

This was just Qin Yichen casually refining, he had not even been that serious.

At this moment, Wang Muyu seemed to understand why Qin Yichen did not care about his provocations at all. Perhaps, even in his eyes, he was nothing more than a clown.

His face changed unpredictably between pale and flushed. But right now, no one was paying attention to him.

Nearby, after the Royal City Alchemy Guild personnel reacted, they quickly came to Qin Yichen’s front to appraise this Pill.

After he took the Pill handed over by Qin Yichen, his pupils suddenly dilated, and he could not help but exclaim, “It’s actually a Second Grade Pill!”

“What!?” This sentence was like throwing a huge stone into the quiet lake surface, immediately splashing up thousands of huge waves.

The entire square, everyone was shocked.

Originally, almost everyone thought it was going to be just an Ordinary Pill. Even Lu Heze thought so. After all, the time Qin Yichen took to refine was really too short…

The only one who knew Qin Yichen had such an incredible Pill refining speed was Zhou Tianwei. However, she never imagined that the youth who could only refine Ordinary Pills a few months ago could now refine Second Grade Pills effortlessly!
