Alchemy Master

Chapter 103, Take It If You Want It

Translator: Silavin

The Royal City of Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty, Heavenly Unicorn City. Even with twelve city gates, the crowds of people coming and going almost blocked the gates.

On the spacious roads, all kinds of people were walking. The most common were merchant caravans like Shu Ruyan’s, of course, there were also many mercenaries and Nobles, and no small number of wanderers.

After Shu Ruyan’s caravan arrived, it slowed down. A short distance of a few hundred metres took nearly an hour to reach the city gate.

Of course, not the central gate. That one was only for the Nobles of the country to pass through, ordinary people simply did not have that qualification.

The Shu Family, although they had a bit of a reputation in the Royal City’s business world, it was far from being Nobility.

Uncle Wen from the caravan was obviously quite familiar with the soldiers at the city gate. After arriving at the gate, he went up to chat for a few words, slipped something into the soldier’s hand, and then the caravan was smoothly allowed to enter.

Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce.

This was the company created by Shu Ruyan’s Father. Although it was not large, it covered various fields. It had its own tavern, as well as its own Medicine Shop, weapon store, clothing store…

Its Medicine Shop was the lifeline of the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce, and also the most profitable.

Speaking of which, Shu Ruyan and her group’s trip this time was actually to personally go to the outskirts of Black Demon Mountain Range to purchase medicinal herbs. This way, as long as they transported the medicinal herbs back to the Royal City, they could make a hefty profit.

It must be said that although Shu Ruyan was a woman, she had excellent business sense.

For other fields, they might not be able to raise their heads under the pressure of competitors, but medicinal herbs were a solid bet. Be it large or small Families, all would need them. It was certain to be a profit, and she would not lose money.

However, at this moment, there were quite a few people standing at the entrance of the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce, blocking the door.

They were definitely visitors with ill intentions!

After Uncle Wen warned her, Shu Ruyan walked out of the carriage.

“Shu Ruyan, you still have the face to come back!?”

As soon as she appeared, those people blocking the entrance of the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce all walked over.

The speaker was standing at the front, wearing a luxurious robe, about forty years old.

Qin Yichen got off the carriage and, seeing their interrogative posture, his face also slightly darkened. He really had not thought that the Uncles of the Shu Sisters could be so shameless!

“Shu Ruyan greets Third Uncle.”

*Hmph!* While Shu Ruyan politely greeted, Shu Xin just snorted, giving them the side eye, her face full of disdain.

“Shu Xin, what kind of manners are you displaying!?”

That man in the luxurious robe was trembling with anger at Shu Xin’s attitude. Then, finding that Shu Xin was completely ignoring him, his mouth twitched, and he turned to glare at Shu Ruyan, angrily shouting, “Shu Ruyan, you Little Sisters’ wings must have hardened too much. Do you also not treat us as your Elders anymore!?”

“Ruyan wouldn’t dare.” The behaviour of betraying the Family was something Shu Ruyan could not do.

It was precisely this kind of weak attitude that made these so-called relatives gradually become more and more presumptuous!

Qin Yichen could only sigh in his heart at this.

“Wouldn’t dare, you Sisters dare a lot!”

Sure enough, their Third Uncle’s tone immediately became even higher. After his gaze swept over the caravan, a greedy look flashed in his eyes.

Their Shu Family started as mercenaries, and it was only Shu Ruyan’s Father who had a business mind. After the business grew, Shu Ruyan’s Father, thinking of the Family, gave a lot of economic support to the Family. However, he never imagined that over time, these relatives actually took his kindness as a matter of course!

As the saying goes ‘a grain of rice receives gratitude while a bowl of rice receives hatred’.

Now, these relatives of hers were no longer satisfied with her handouts. They wanted to swallow the whole business.

Perhaps, in the hearts of Shu Ruyan’s relatives, the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce should have belonged to them in the first place.

“Well, it sure is quite lively.” Qin Yichen really could not stand it anymore and walked out, standing beside the Shu Sisters. Although there was a smile on his face, his eyes were particularly cold.

“This must be the thief who injured your Eldest Cousin, right?” Their Third Uncle just glanced at Qin Yichen briefly, not taking him seriously. He soon put on a righteous face and said, “Your Eldest Uncle is already sick with anger, so he sent me to mediate the conflict between you two. Let’s do it this way, first send these goods to my mansion, I’ll help you keep them temporarily, then come with me to your Eldest Uncle’s place. Hand over this thief to your Eldest Uncle to deal with. I think your Eldest Uncle won’t be too harsh on his future Daughter-in-law…”

He said it very casually, as if he was talking about something that was a matter of course.

“Third Uncle…” Even Shu Ruyan now showed dissatisfaction on her face.

This batch of goods was purchased with more than half of the entire company’s funds. If it was lost, their whole company would completely collapse.

But her Third Uncle, with a righteous face, wanted to forcibly take it away. Was this not pushing her to a dead end!? Moreover, when did she ever agree to marry that so-called Eldest Cousin? How could such an outrageous thing be treated as a matter of course!?

Shu Ruyan was so angry that her eyes turned red, on the verge of tears.

If it were not for these relatives asking for more and more money each time, how could the once excellent Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce have fallen to this state in just a few short years!?

“What!? Shu Ruyan, do you want your Third Uncle to call his own people to take it away!?” Her Third Uncle had an evil expression, as if these goods originally belonged to him. All while treating Shu Ruyan as if she was some kind of heinous criminal.

“You dare to touch my goods, just try!” Qin Yichen stepped forward, with an arrogant face, even more overbearing than him. He directly scolded the guards of the caravan behind, “What are you all standing there for!? Hurry up and carry my goods inside!”

Those guards were stunned for a moment, then started to move. Even they could not bare to watch these goods being taken away!

Uncle Wen cast a grateful look at Qin Yichen.

He knew very well what kind of person his Young Mistress was. Over the years, he had advised her countless times, but she always could not get over this hurdle in her heart.

“Wait, what are you doing!?” The Third Uncle was stunned at first, and when he saw the caravan guards unloading wooden boxes and carrying them into the company, he immediately started screaming hysterically, “Put them down, hurry up and put them down!”

With his obstruction, the people he brought also blocked the caravan guards, not allowing them to carry the goods in.

At this moment, another chaotic battle was about to break out, but Qin Yichen’s light voice came over…

“Since you insist on keeping them temporarily, then take them. Later, I’ll have Zhou Tianwei, Young Master Zhou, personally come to your mansion to retrieve them!”

Qin Yichen had a nonchalant face, but he reminded, “I’m telling you, this is what Young Master Zhou wants. If anything is missing, hehe…”

Silavin: In short, this girl, even with all the greatest business sense in the world, is bloody useless. She is the cause of the Family’s downfall. Not her relatives.
