My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 534: Chapter 234: Golden Light

HUFF, HUFF...

As for Qin Fang, he was gasping for air, his body drenched in blood. Gaping wounds covered him... he even had burns!

...The Golden Light’s temperature was terrifyingly high!

And beneath the wounds, his black bones were visible.

Thankfully, the bones... were unharmed.

’...It was only now that he realized his bones seemed to be on a completely different level from his flesh and blood.’

These black bones were the result of his first seclusion at Old Ox Back. He had absorbed a breath of Ultimate Yin Primordial Power, swallowed a large amount of a mysterious liquid, and then been frozen in ice for half a year.

It was clear now that their durability was astonishing.

His muscles had been sliced open, but his skeleton was unharmed.

A tidal wave of excruciating pain washed over him, but Qin Fang didn’t dare to hastily heal himself. These were only flesh wounds, and he had to conserve his limited True Essence for the dangers that lay ahead.

With a grim expression, he scanned his surroundings...

He was on the great fish’s back, at the junction between a fin and its body—an area like a massive plaza. The ”ground” beneath him trembled violently, and the terrifying force threatened to throw him off at any moment.

However... it was only a ’possibility.’ After all, as a True Essence Third Realm Martial Artist, keeping his footing wasn’t a problem.

The great fish’s skin was pure black and incredibly thick. Standing on it felt like treading on an impossibly thick sheet of leather, and he could even feel a terrifying power surging beneath his feet.

If that power were to hit him directly, it would be enough to instantly pulverize him, bones and all.

He looked up, and his eyes were met with what seemed to be a vast landscape covered in thick, fleshy folds.

As the great fish thrashed its head, these folds warped, sometimes stretching open, sometimes squeezing shut...

’...Qin Fang had no doubt that if he fell into one of those ’folds,’ he’d be instantly crushed to a pulp!’

’...Even these black bones of his would surely be shattered!’

’...What the fuck is all this?!’

’I just wanted to reach Condensing Truth. I was so careful. How did I end up in a mess like this?’

Qin Fang gritted his teeth in frustration.

But with things as they were, all he could do was keep observing and hope to find a chance to escape...

But just then, a tremendous force erupted from below. With almost no effort, the terrifying power launched Qin Fang into the air.

Alarmed, Qin Fang immediately circulated his True Essence to stay afloat in mid-air. Then he saw the great fish launch itself into the air with a deafening roar.

Shocked, he shot higher into the sky.

Thankfully, the great fish only leaped once before plunging back down.

A closer look revealed what was happening...

It was diving headfirst into the Great Abyss.

Qin Fang quickly shot higher to get out of the way.

But his expression didn’t improve in the slightest.

Sure enough, a rumbling roar echoed as the waters of the Great Abyss churned. A moment later, the great fish’s head broke the surface again.

The Golden Light began to flow within its mouth. Qin Fang saw a liquid dripping from its jaws.

That wasn’t water from the Great Abyss... it was blood!

The great fish’s blood!

’...The extreme temperature of the Golden Light has inflicted massive damage on the great fish!’

’But why isn’t it a burn? Why is it bleeding?’

Qin Fang didn’t know.

Of course, he didn’t have time to ponder that. His eyes were locked on the great fish’s mouth as he instantly shot downward, diving to avoid the area directly in front of its jaws.

In the blink of an eye, he was hovering just above the water’s surface. Sure enough, the gale surged once more... but he was already out of the direct line of the fish’s mouth.

Without pausing, he flew straight toward the great fish, finally landing back on the fin.

Clinging tightly to the great fish’s back, he was out of breath, but he let out a small sigh of relief.

’...What’s the deal with that Golden Light?’

’Even the great fish was hurt by it!’

’...But why was it so quiet for the past year?’

’This thing gives off extreme heat, so why is the great fish so attracted to it?’

’Even after being grievously wounded, it’s unwilling to spit it out?’

A stream of questions flooded Qin Fang’s mind.

But in the end, he instantly suppressed them all.

Right now, there was only one thought in his mind...

’...What do I do now?!’

He was on the great fish’s back now, in a sheltered spot, so he was safe for the moment.

But he couldn’t escape.

Even trying to flee from the fish’s back was useless.

Because... the great fish was struggling madly the entire time, thrashing its head about without pause... Who knew when it might suddenly aim in the direction he tried to flee?

He had escaped by a hair’s breadth once, but his condition was deteriorating. He had no time to heal his wounds. If he got caught in that suction again, he wasn’t confident he could escape...

’...My True Essence Pills, the honey, everything... I lost it all during the fish’s first big inhale.’

In other words, he had no way to recover his True Essence... The nearby Primordial Power, roiled by the great fish and the Golden Light, was ten thousand times more violent than normal. If he dared to absorb it, his internal organs would instantly be shredded to pieces or incinerated!

Qin Fang’s expression was grim...

He’d previously thought his power was quite considerable.

But in this moment, he realized... he was still far too weak.

In the face of such a terrifying existence, he was utterly helpless!

Suddenly, the air grew cold.

And it was getting colder and colder!

Qin Fang’s expression changed. He looked down to see ice forming at his feet, spreading frantically.

’...The great fish is using its power!’

’Is it circulating its Profound Nether Nature? One far more terrifying than my own?’

Qin Fang frantically circulated his True Essence in an attempt to resist.

But it wasn’t so easy this time. The cold invaded with a frenzy, and he felt the agony of being flash-frozen.

But only for an instant. The cold abruptly vanished, replaced by a wave of scorching heat.

The Ice Crystals on Qin Fang’s body began to melt away. He looked up in horror to see the Golden Light blazing intensely once more...

It was as if it was in a standoff with the great fish!

The great fish and the Golden Light were locked in a frantic struggle, one waxing as the other waned.

But it was Qin Fang, on the fish’s back, who bore the brunt of their struggle. One moment, he was frozen solid by extreme cold; the next, he was sweating bullets in extreme heat... even his flesh was beginning to burn!

This extreme alternation brought Qin Fang’s body to the verge of collapse.

”What do I do? What do I do?!”

Sweat poured down Qin Fang’s forehead.

’...He was trapped in the most desperate situation of his life!’
