My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 529: Chapter 233: Big Fish

Before entering his meditation, he had felt a twinge of regret... The meteor had plunged into the Abyss, disappearing from view, and he had no idea if it was some kind of treasure.

But now, this ”treasure” had suddenly appeared.

It actually made Qin Fang hesitate.

His brow furrowed as he stared at the object emitting a brilliant Golden Light. It was too far away, and the light grew denser the closer it was to the source, almost looking like it had solidified. As a result, he couldn’t make out what the thing actually was.

Qin Fang hesitated for a long moment. Finally, he took a deep breath, and instead of approaching, he retreated even farther.

’His master’s warnings still echoed in his ears. His only goal in coming to this World was to properly temper his True Essence.’

’Anything else, especially things that involved risk, was best left alone.’

’This thing... it looks like a treasure.’

’But who could say for sure?’

’In this World, even a gust of wind was terrifying.’

’He couldn’t withstand the slightest disturbance!’

’If this were a game, he would’ve run over without a second thought to check it out.’

’But this wasn’t a game.’

’You only get one life.’

’In a World this strange, any change could be an opportunity, but it could just as easily be a trap.’

’Or maybe... maybe it really was a benefit, but one he couldn’t handle right now.’

’It was just like the things back at Old Ox Back.’

’Were the Treasure Plants in the Bee Cave a good thing? Absolutely! But he hadn’t dared to touch them.’

’Was the Ultimate Yin Primordial Power seventy meters deep in the Cold Cave a good thing? Of course!’

’But he didn’t dare go back to absorb it, either.’

’Don’t bite off more than you can chew.’

That glittering golden thing was probably the meteor that fell from the sky. Its descent caused the very mountains to collapse and nearly got him killed.

Now it was just lying there quietly, and the Golden Light didn’t seem threatening... but who knew for sure?

’What if he touched it? What if his True Essence came into contact with it and triggered some kind of disaster?’

’He had his panel. As long as he played it safe and steady, he was guaranteed to reach the top.’

’There was absolutely no reason to risk his life for something he knew nothing about.’

At that thought, Qin Fang decisively moved even farther away.

He walked another one or two kilometers, until the glow had faded into the distance. Only then did Qin Fang let out a sigh of relief.

’If he wasn’t worried about what other dangers lurked deeper in the Great Abyss, he would’ve gone even farther away!’

After one last glance at the distant Golden Light, Qin Fang exhaled, sat down cross-legged, and tried absorbing some of the Heaven and Earth Primordial Power.

He was relieved to find that the Heaven and Earth Primordial Power hadn’t grown more volatile due to the Golden Light’s presence.

He then set up the Divine Summoning Hourglass and began to absorb the Heaven and Earth Primordial Power bit by bit, resuming his training.

The days passed, one after another.

Qin Fang remained wary of the Golden Light, but fortunately, nothing out of the ordinary happened. It simply lay there in the pitch-black Great Abyss, seemingly devoid of any profound mystery.

After observing it for several days and concluding that the object posed no threat, Qin Fang relaxed and fully returned to his training.

Of course, as he trained, he couldn’t help but wonder from time to time... ’What if that thing is completely harmless and only offers benefits? Wouldn’t it be a shame to miss out on a rare opportunity because I’m being too cautious?’

But every time this thought surfaced, Qin Fang would immediately crush it.

”The panel is my biggest Golden Finger. What other opportunities do I need? If all goes well, maybe I’d gain a decent prize. But if something goes wrong... in this godforsaken place where no one can hear you scream, my life would be forfeit!”

What was more important: his life, or a potential opportunity?

For others, the opportunity might be more important. To advance, they had to risk their lives, to fight and gamble.

But for Qin Fang...

...his life was undoubtedly more important!

He had a clear path to the heavens laid out before him.

There was no need to gamble his life on a coin toss.

Just like that, in the blink of an eye, over a hundred new marks were carved into his bamboo tally.

He had been in this World for two years now.

But he still hadn’t been ejected from the Secret Realm.

’Do I really have to stay for the full three years?’

Qin Fang thought as he checked his panel.

The progress on his Root Skill had reached over four thousand points into the Great Success stage.

The increase was slightly less than the previous year.

This was normal.

He had nearly used up all his True Essence Pills.

He needed to save the last few for emergencies. If any other unforeseen events occurred, he would likely need the True Essence Pills to rapidly restore his True Essence.

’To be honest, this damn place gives me no sense of security.’

Without the pills, it was understandable that his Root Skill’s progress would slow.

But even so... his progress was still terrifyingly fast.

Two years to go from entry-level to Great Success.

Now, he was only a little over six thousand points away from the Perfection stage.

’This trip to the Secret Realm might be all I need. I won’t have to come back again. At this rate... assuming I stay here for the full three years, my final proficiency should reach around seven or eight thousand.’

’After that, another half-year of secluded training at Old Ox Back should be enough to start Condensing Gang.’

Condensing Gang!

A flicker of anticipation appeared in Qin Fang’s eyes at the thought.

Condensing Gang was arguably the stage with the most significant leap in power within the True Essence Five Realms!

At this stage, the once ethereal True Essence would completely solidify, transforming into True Gang!

True Gang was potentially over a hundred times stronger than True Essence!
