My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 515: Chapter 228: Opportunity?

”Senior Brother, there are seven pieces of Concentrating Iron Heart Jade here... The total weight is about two hundred grams... Have a look.”

Qin Fang took it and looked. Sure enough, the box contained seven pieces of Concentrating Iron Heart Jade of roughly the same size, each about half the size of the one he’d had before, weighing around thirty grams apiece.

Qin Fang nodded in satisfaction and put the Jade Box away.

”Alright, I’ll be on my way.”

”Take care, Senior Brother.”

Su Nian gave a slight bow.

Qin Fang nodded, then turned and shot off into the sky.

Su Nian watched him disappear into the distance, then took a deep breath.

Her eyes lit up.

’...That honey must be what did it. I’m sure I wasn’t imagining things... I need to find Senior Brother Yun!’

With that thought, she entered a side hall, grabbed a bamboo tube, and shot into the sky... off to find Yun Guanyu.

Having obtained two hundred grams of Concentrating Iron Heart Jade, Qin Fang was in high spirits.

’I didn’t bring much honey this time, so I can’t just hand it out to anyone... Using it to help absorb the Concentrating Iron Heart Jade should speed things up considerably.’

’Right. First, I’ll go to the Scripture Pavilion and redeem the next Root Skill and Leaf Skill I need.’

He currently had about sixty thousand contribution points in his Token. He hadn’t started with that much, but even though he hadn’t been in the Sect for the past year, his monthly stipend of ten thousand points had still been issued on time. It was all credited to his Token upon his return.

That was a hundred and twenty thousand points right there.

Then there was the hundred thousand he’d received as a reward from the sect last year.

And on top of that, the tens of thousands he had left over from before.

Having grown accustomed to six-figure contribution point totals, now that he was down to just five, Qin Fang let out a soft sigh...

’...Cultivation really is a drain on resources.’

Especially now. The Secret Manuals for the Root and Leaf Skills alone cost a huge amount of contribution points, and the supplementary medicines needed even more!

’...I wonder how many suckers I can fleece this time.’

He shook his head and headed straight for Baichuan Plaza.

The moment he arrived, he was taken aback. He saw that the plaza was full of people whose attire was clearly not that of the Heavenly Gang Wuji Sect.

But he quickly realized... they were disciples from the other sects.

They had come to Canglan Prefecture at the invitation of the Heavenly Gang Wuji Sect, so naturally, they would be lodging with the Sect.

...It made the already bustling Baichuan Plaza even more lively.

As the Sect’s liveliest public area, Baichuan Plaza was a natural gathering spot for these visiting disciples.

As he was looking around curiously, his gaze swept across the crowd and landed on a familiar face.

It was none other than Zhao Yuanling.

Zhao Yuanling had clearly spotted him too and was looking up at him.

When Qin Fang’s eyes met his, he saw Zhao Yuanling flinch and instinctively look away.

But he seemed to quickly regain his composure and looked back.

’...That expression...’

Qin Fang’s eyes narrowed.

’Why does he look so guilty?’

After his sparring match with Zhao Yuanling, Qin Fang had discovered the man harbored murderous intent toward him. He had even gone to his Master right away to ask if he could kill Zhao Yuanling in return.

The answer he got was that he could, but he also couldn’t. After all, his opponent was likely protected by a War Gang Avatar from one of his own sect elders. To make a move on him would inevitably alert that elder.

...Unless he could obliterate the War Gang Avatar at the same time.

That way, there would be no proof.

But that was something Qin Fang was definitely incapable of doing.

His Master had told him not to act for the time being, and that he would handle the matter.

But a long time had passed, and nothing had happened to Zhao Yuanling. Qin Fang figured his Master simply hadn’t found a suitable opportunity to strike.

...Zhao Yuanling had been staying within the Heavenly Gang Wuji Sect the whole time. If he were killed there, it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out the Heavenly Gang Wuji Sect was involved.

That would have a massive impact on their future alliance with the Golden Rainbow Sword Sect.

Then came the battle with the Path of Non-Birth, followed by the discovery of the Ancient Well...

These things were clearly far more important than killing a single disciple.

’...I never thought he’d actually come back.’

’And why does he look so guilty seeing me?’

Thinking of this, Qin Fang’s eyes narrowed. He descended directly and said with a smile to Zhao Yuanling, ”Well, if it isn’t Senior Brother Zhao. Long time no see, Senior Brother Zhao.”

Zhao Yuanling was with several other members of the Golden Rainbow Sword Sect. When he had casually glanced up and spotted Qin Fang, his heart had leaped into his throat...

’Qin Fang is back?’

The shock made him instinctively avert his gaze.

But he quickly came to his senses. ’Why should I be afraid of him?’

And so, he looked back at him.

But to be honest...

He wanted nothing to do with the man.

Word of the ”Golden Rainbow Sharpness” taunt had been carried back to the Golden Rainbow Sword Sect by the disciples who returned last time...

Although it didn’t cause a major stir in the end...

...it still caused him to lose a great deal of face.

...His peers within the Sect didn’t care that he had only made the challenge under orders from his superiors.

All they knew was that he had set those restrictions, still lost, and was even mocked to his face with the words ”Golden Rainbow Sharpness.” It was an undeniable fact that the entire Golden Rainbow Sword Sect had lost face because of him.

Furthermore, he considered his own Talent extraordinary and had always acted arrogantly within the Sect, so there were plenty of people who were secretly jealous of him.

The incident had made it difficult for him to even hold his head high within the Sect, and the feeling was unbearable...

So when he was told he had to come to the Heavenly Gang Wuji Sect again, he had been extremely reluctant, but he came anyway...

For one, it was because Senior Brother Mu had required it.

And for another, things had become very uncomfortable for him back at the Sect.

He planned to lie low for a while... As long as enough time passed, the matter would naturally be forgotten.

He had been here for almost a year now, and Senior Brother Mu had already asked him several times what was going on.
