My Martial Arts Level Never Drops

Chapter 431: Chapter 200: Erosion Puppet

Streams of Profound Nether True Essence, channeled through the leaves, struck the monster, covering its body in an increasingly thick layer of frost.

After he had launched a dozen or so volleys, the slime covering the creature’s body had completely turned into Ice Crystals, and its movements had become noticeably stiff.

Suddenly, it shrieked. In the next instant, the tentacles at the ends of its limbs violently shot out!

They transformed into more than a dozen vine-like appendages that suddenly swept toward Qin Fang.

Qin Fang’s pupils shrank. In the next instant, his figure flickered, leaving behind a True Essence afterimage as he vanished into the distance.

With a soft POP, the True Essence afterimage burst. The sections of the tentacles that had pierced it immediately began to CRACKLE and freeze over.

The monster shrieked, but its attack wasn’t over. The tentacles pivoted nimbly, then suddenly accelerated, twisting up toward Qin Fang in the air!

Qin Fang hadn’t expected the tentacles to be so agile. His expression shifted, and without a second thought, he continued to fly higher.

To his surprise, the tentacles weren’t the least bit slow. They caught up in an instant, like more than a dozen venomous snakes soaring into the sky, coiling madly as if they wouldn’t rest until they had ensnared Qin Fang.

And they were clearly getting faster and faster.

Qin Fang’s gaze grew increasingly grim.

’The foul stench... the slime coating the tentacles...’

’You don’t need a brain to know that getting tangled up in those things would not end well.’

’What in the world is this thing?’

As these thoughts ran through his mind, Qin Fang glanced down.

A spiritual light filled his pupils, and he saw that his Profound Nether True Essence was indeed having an effect. Although each hit only delivered a small amount, Profound Nether True Essence was notoriously persistent. Once it struck a target, it was like a flesh-eating maggot—nearly impossible to completely remove.

For instance, the creature was using a force similar to True Essence from within its body to shatter the Ice Crystals on its surface.

However, the Profound Nether True Essence that had penetrated its body was still at work, causing the shattered Ice Crystals to ”grow” back on its skin.

The creature shrieked repeatedly as its internal energy surged wildly; it seemed to be at the end of its rope.

Qin Fang soared up another four or five hundred meters. The tentacles, seemingly at their limit, went taut for an instant before beginning to retract.

A glint flashed in Qin Fang’s eyes. His figure blurred as he dove, matching the speed of the retracting tentacles. In the blink of an eye, he was back at the height of the canopy.

The momentum from the retracting tentacles forced the monster back two steps. Qin Fang seized the opportunity, grabbing another large handful of leaves and firing them at his foe.

SWISH SWISH SWISH!

THWAP THWAP THWAP!

Leaf after leaf exploded against the monster’s body, leaving behind clusters of Profound Nether True Essence and forcing them into the creature’s flesh.

The Ice Crystals on its body grew ever more numerous.

Finally, the monster seemed to grow fearful. It shrieked, and dragging its ice-encrusted body, it turned and began scrambling across the canopy, trying to flee.

But Qin Fang had no intention of letting it escape. He pursued it through the air, snatching leaves from the canopy and firing relentlessly as he went.

As vast amounts of Profound Nether True Essence detonated, the very temperature around the monster seemed to plummet.

More and more solid ice appeared on its body. Although the leaves hadn’t managed to pierce its powerful Physique, they were making it slower... and slower.

Until finally...

THUD!

As the monster fled, solid ice began to form on its limb joints, causing it to fall heavily.

A series of dull thuds rang out.

The monster had been moving quickly. Its fall made a loud CRACK as it knocked over a large tree—one so thick it would take two or three people to wrap their arms around it. With a rustle of leaves, the monster disappeared into the thorn bushes below, vanishing from sight.

Qin Fang, still pursuing from high in the air, saw this and immediately swept the area with his Divine Sense, precisely locking onto the creature’s position.

It was still moving.

He didn’t go down. Instead, he remained where he was, grabbing leaves from a nearby treetop and continuously firing them toward the location he sensed with his Divine Sense.

THWACK-THWACK-THWACK...

The creature was now in the thorns, with large trees nearby, but the leaves infused with Profound Nether True Essence were as tough as iron. They pierced straight through the tree trunks, sending frozen wood chips bursting out with a series of POPS!

The dense hail of leaves sheared right through the thorns.

’It was a testament to the terrifying power of True Essence-infused leaves!’

Yet, when these same terrifying leaves struck the monster, they simply shattered, completely unable to harm its body...

’...which just went to show that this monster’s Physique was anything but ordinary.’

The monster had already lost its ability to move. It struggled down below, but its thrashing grew weaker and weaker, and its shrieks became fainter and fainter.

In the end, after Qin Fang had lost count of how many leaves he’d fired and consumed the vast majority of his True Essence, the movement below finally ceased.

Qin Fang’s face was also a little pale.

’This ’stupid’ method used up even more True Essence than I imagined.’

’If I hadn’t reached the Primordial Stream Realm, if I were still only in the True Species Realm, my True Essence would have run out long ago.’

Only after confirming that all was still below did Qin Fang finally stop.

A sweep of his Divine Sense revealed that a giant ball of ice had formed amidst the thorns.

The ice ball was a deep, dark color. Its diameter already exceeded five or six meters, and it was still growing larger out of thin air.

The monster inside was curled into a ball, completely encased. Its mouthparts were savage, and the bone spurs on its back were menacingly sharp...

Only when he was certain the creature was no longer moving did Qin Fang finally breathe a sigh of relief.

He subconsciously glanced behind him, and the sight made his pupils shrink slightly...

Because in the forest behind him, the trees that had been sprayed by the monster’s bodily fluids had actually melted more than halfway down, as if they were wax figures!

And they were still melting.

Billowing white mist rose toward the sky, as if from a raging fire.
