The Genius Evolution Store

”This...” The governor was speechless when he read the information. He stopped after reading only a few lines.

After all, it showed Auric’s element.

”He has a unique element?” The governor gasped. There was massive skepticism around unique elements, so he wondered if it was the right thing to do to support Auric.

After all, if Auric ended up being stuck because of his element’s limitations, the governor had to face the backlash as well.

”That’s why I want you to take a look at that information first before deciding whether I should continue with the investigation or not.” The advisor sighed. ”After searching for his information, I’ve found out that he actually failed to awaken an avatar.

”However, the next thing people knew was that he was able to use multiple elements. So, it might not be a failure in awakening. Rather, the awakening couldn’t register Auric’s true avatar. It might be a secretive type or something else entirely.

”Either way, the fact that it possessed a unique element explained everything. There wasn’t much we knew about unique elements, so we couldn’t reach a conclusion yet.”

The governor crossed his arms, contemplating. On the one hand, he had given his support to Tommi. Tommi was probably the safest bet. On the other hand, he had told Tommi that he was about to give his support to Auric.

Once he found out that Auric had a unique element, it made everything he had seen so far understandable.

Someone possessing a unique element usually shows explosive growth at the start.

Even people like Milinda and Ellia had shown explosive growth, but after getting close to their evolution, they would slow down significantly or stop improving completely.

Auric would probably experience the same thing. His support was less effective, considering even the country couldn’t guarantee that someone with a unique element would evolve.

That was why he was considering carefully whether he should give his support or not. Even if he gave his support to Auric and the latter somehow continued to evolve, he would most likely get stuck after three to four evolutions.

He wouldn’t be able to reach the top, unlike Tommi, whose potential was enough to reach the top.

The governor rubbed his forehead in frustration. ”To think that such potential turned out to be a waste.”

”That is indeed a shame.” The advisor nodded.

The governor contemplated for a few more minutes before saying, ”I won’t support him.”

”Are you sure, sir?”

”Yeah. The person I need to support should be someone who has the potential to reach the top. Only in this way will our country have a future. Although his aptitude as an evolution master is extremely high, it’s useless if he can’t evolve.

”However, with his talents, he should become quite wealthy in the future. At the very least, he won’t live in misery.”

The advisor let out a long sigh. In the end, the governor was the one who should decide whether Auric would receive the support or not.

”I understand. I’ll stop the investigation. Still, what are we going to say to Tommi?”

”Just play dumb about it. If he demands, tell him that the process will take some time.”

”Yes, sir.” The advisor nodded before being dismissed by the governor.

The governor let out a long sigh. ”Such a pity. If only he truly had multiple elements instead of the unique element.”

Little did he know he would find more about Auric if he had just continued with his investigation, enough to create reasonable doubt about whether he really should give him his support.

After all, he would find Auric was pretty close with Ellia. Milinda and Mr. Popo were working in his store.

In addition, Maya was his teacher. The most important thing is that, with his authority, he would most likely be able to find out about Auric taking the test for a silver-grade evolution master on the previous day.

Unfortunately, he didn’t continue the investigation.

At the same time, Auric never intended to receive the government’s support. It would be good if he got one, just like how the mayor of the Thunderer City sponsored him. The mayor hadn’t taken back the sponsorship even after knowing he had a unique element.

So, Auric wouldn’t refuse if he received an offer, but he wouldn’t mind if he didn’t get one either.

In the end, the biggest sponsorship he could get would be from the two rich women near him, Ellia and Maya. Besides, since he was a unique-element evolution master, he wasn’t afraid of losing all support.

After all, he had so many things he wanted to focus on, such as his Sun Store and Moon Store, rather than lamenting the fact that he didn’t receive any support.

Unlike the governor, other universities began to spread the matter about Auric.

Willimlie University.

”Get out.”

”Leave your seat, Principal! You’re not worthy of that seat.”

”We’ve lost five S-grade resources because of you.”

The people were raging because the university had lost to Auric. More importantly, they lost so embarrassingly as the principal cheated in the duel.

As a result, he was severely punished and kicked out of the university. If he hadn’t cheated, he could probably still get a seat among the professors, but because of the cheating incident, the government imposed strict punishment, making him unable to apply to any other positions in education.

The same thing was happening to Princedome University.

The principal here had done everything right, but Auric simply ruined his plan. Originally, Tommi was supposed to stay at Princedome University and become the pride of the university.

However, Tommi suddenly announced that he would be leaving Princedome University.

Because the government had gotten involved, there was no other way to stop it. Still, this was a decision by Tommi, so the principal wasn’t punished.

His judgment was the only thing that people found questionable, but he hadn’t done anything wrong.

The biggest problem was the fact that Tommi actually lost to someone. They were aware of Tommi’s talent, so it was unexpected to find a person who could defeat him.

When they realized this person had three elements, they understood why Tommi actually lost.

Obviously, this kind of topic became widespread at Grand Magica College.

”Amazing! Auric was able to defeat that Tommiseus.” Arina showed the picture to Ellia. ”Have you seen this, Ellia? Besides, he finally showed his lightning element... It’s surprising, but this is crazy, isn’t it?”

Ellia nodded. ”Well, he’s bound to rise with that kind of talent, so this is simply about him getting the recognition he deserves. Besides, a certain person is trying to smear his name, so this news will flip the situation around.”

”I know, right?” Arina chuckled. ”Auric not only won against Tommiseus, but he also won five S-grade resources. People will definitely be grateful for Auric.”

”Well, it’s only for the new students, but it still makes people proud nonetheless.” Ellia agreed.

”What’s with your reaction? It feels like you knew about this from the start. Now that I think about it, the conference is being held in your hotel... Don’t tell me, you’ve watched the match?”

Ellia shrugged, not confirming but not denying it either.

”Tsk. You should have called me so we could watch together.” Arina clicked her tongue.

”The video is simply too sensitive. It’s good that no one watched it. If not, the situation would have become even more chaotic.”

Arina harrumphed. ”I don’t care about that.”

”Fine. I’ll cook you your favorite tomorrow, so forget about this.”

”...Fine.” Arina pouted.

Ellia asked, ”By the way, get prepared. We’re going to get busy from now on.”

”I know what you’re talking about. Don’t worry.”

In Grand Magica College, a man ran to Eric, who was practicing at his usual spot.

”Eric, have you seen this?”

”Hmm?” Eric didn’t show any particular interest, but after seeing who was featured in the news, his expression turned serious.

”Did you expect something like this?”

”He’s bound to do it anyway. If he tells me he can kill a god, he probably can. ”

”Oh?! Though, according to the rumors, Tommiseus actually asked him out.”

”What?” Eric raised his eyebrows. ”What are you talking about?”

”Before the match, Auric apparently made a small bet with Tommi about becoming friends or something. Once Auric defeated him, Tommi actually asked about his girlfriend. When Auric told him he didn’t have a girlfriend, Tommi asked if he wanted him to be his girlfriend. Auric ran away and caused a scene, but it was a prank from Tommi, according to the witness.”

Eric laughed. ”Now, that’s the best news I have ever heard. Serves him right. He loves to do things that will charm people. I’ve seen plenty of people like that, but a man? This is the first time I’ve seen one.”

His roommate had a wry smile but didn’t say anything. ”In any case, it looks like he has returned.”

Eric nodded. ”In that case, there’s nothing for me to know anymore. The school atmosphere will surely change after this.”

”Yes.”

...

In the Phoenix and Dragon Society, the atmosphere was gloomy. While everyone was celebrating Auric’s achievement, the people there were panicking.

”What are we going to do now?”

”Abel. What should we do to fight back?”

”At this rate, it’s impossible to stop the Lightning Emperor.”

”In the first place, the Lightning Emperor is like a hero in this city. Not only has he become a role model for anyone who was born ordinary and rose to the peak, but he is also a hero who repelled two massive beast outbreaks.”

”My father is telling me to leave the club already.”

”My company can’t handle this backlash.”

”If we don’t do anything, at this rate, I might have to quit everything I’m doing right now.”

Abel gritted his teeth, thinking, ’What do I do? What should I do? My dad has found out about this matter as well. I can’t admit it, but if this continues, the situation will force him to interfere directly. At that time, I won’t know how much it will impact the family. I’ll definitely get disowned after this.

’What should I do next? If I don’t do anything, the people are going to quit. The Phoenix and Dragon Society has taken a huge hit and fallen to second place. At this rate, we will fall even more, and there’s no way to come back.’

Abel couldn’t think of any plan. The Lightning Emperor hadn’t shown himself directly, so he couldn’t accuse the Lightning Emperor without enough proof.

’Everything should’ve gone smoothly. When did things start to go wrong?’ Abel was recalling everything, but he was sure he had done it perfectly. ’What should I do now? If I continue like this, the consequence will be abysmal.

’It has become worse ever since Auric returned from the conference. To think that guy can defeat Tommi who has the absolute fire element. Can I discredit him by spreading the rumor that Tommi wasn’t fighting seriously?

’But is it true that they’ve become friends? That means he will support Auric, so I can’t pull the same trick again. He won’t be as foolish as Simon.

’So, what should I do now? If I can’t handle the Lightning Emperor directly...’ Abel could only think of one target. ’I need to drag Auric down from his current position first. It looks like I have no choice but to take drastic measures.’

Abel had been cornered to the point where he didn’t even realize that his own vice president had already betrayed him. William had even secretly recruited several people to push him toward the president’s seat when the chance appeared.

There was one more place that was going crazy, though in a different sense. In the south of the country, there was a city called Kelesnia. The existence of the Sun Store had made the people go crazy due to its unique existence.

Professor Alex, who was the first person informed by the student, stood in front of the branch president of the Evolution Association.

He dropped the books on the president’s desk and said, ”Please take a look at this.”
