The Genius Evolution Store

As soon as they reached the city, they went to the venue where the conference would be held.

They had to register themselves first so that people would know about their arrival.

”So, this is the place we’re going to stay in.” Auric looked amazed.

”Why are you impressed? Don’t you know who the owner of this hotel is?” Maya rolled her eyes.

”Huh?” Auric tilted his head in confusion.

”It’s Ellia. This hotel is one of the subsidiaries that she handles.”

”No, I know that this is her family’s property, but...”

”Oh, you don’t know that she actually owns the majority of the shares here?”

Auric shook his head.

”She is quite a sly one. Despite being so young, she has already inherited a few companies from her family.”

”Isn’t that normal?” Auric asked. ”Especially for the heirs of wealthy families.”

”Not really. You won’t be given companies when you’re still that young. Like, sure, you can get some shares, but not enough to control the company itself. If you have too much when you don’t have any experience or power, people might snatch those shares from you. On the other hand, she has inherited a couple of companies at that age, and it doesn’t look like they’ve been snatched from her.”

”Oh?” Auric nodded in understanding.

”Basically, her business sense is exceptional as well. People are thinking that Ellia may become someone like her grandfather, if not for her limitations. You surely know who her grandfather is, right?”

”Yes. The one who created the entire business empire. He manages the business and maintains his strength. From what I’ve heard, he may not have been among the top, but his strength is at a very high level.”

Maya agreed. ”And Ellia is someone who can potentially surpass him. But when people learn about her element, her family believes that she can only inherit the business, not the strength. So, she ends up in our city, growing her business and her strength, away from the judgment of others.”

”I see.” Auric looked down, contemplating. It was no wonder Ellia was concerned about him.

With a unique element evolution master by her side, Ellia would be able to surpass her grandfather. She herself had no doubt about it.

Had he known this information before negotiating to make her the test subject for the artificial heart, he would have gained the advantage in that negotiation.

Auric realized that he might be so focused on other things that he didn’t pay much attention to what happened outside. It looked like he needed to gather information like this in the future.

The principal remained silent, observing how Maya taught Auric.

”Anyway, Principal, we get to stay in the best suite, right?” Maya asked.

The principal smiled wryly before taking out the cards. ”Yeah. She gave it to us even before we left.”

Auric and Maya took the cards, while the principal continued, ”Anyway, we should head to the venue first.”

The venue had been decorated like a seminar. Maya didn’t seem to be interested in it, while the principal knew he would probably be alone during the conference.

Anyway, his job was to keep Maya and Auric away while the Lightning Emperor clashed with Abel. He had to do this much for the Lightning Emperor.

While he was registering their names, a male voice suddenly echoed from the side.

”Well, well, well. Who do we have here?”

The principal suddenly stopped writing. His face darkened as he turned around, finding three people.

”It looks like our friends from Willimlie can’t wait to introduce themselves.” Principal Fernandes scoffed. ”It looks like you’ve brought an evolution master rather than your spear maniac this year. What? Are you scared of the competition? Isn’t the Princedome sending Tommiseus? You scared?”

Principal Galeon from Willimlie had his eyebrows twitching. He said, ”I’m not scared of anyone.”

Auric couldn’t help but ask quietly, ”Teacher, do the two of them know each other?”

”I don’t know if they have personal grudges, but Grand Magica College is the number one college in this province, while Willimlie University is the number one university. Colleges might be smaller, but the ones at the top are able to monopolize the resources of the city they reside in.

”Meanwhile, most universities are built on rich resource areas, so they usually have two or three universities in one city, making them compete. So, it’s normal to have a rivalry between two number one institutions.”

”Oh.” Auric nodded in understanding.

Principal Fernandes said, ”Do you think I’m scared even if you bring your Astra? My student is both a fighter and an evolution master. He hasn’t evolved yet because we’re not scared of the competition.”

”An evolution master?” Principal Galeon smirked. ”Aren’t you picking a student based on his looks alone? What? So, even if you lose, people will sympathize with you.”

”Do you think we will lose?” Principal Fernandes snorted. ”Why don’t we make a bet?”

”A bet? Sure. I’ve been waiting for you to say that.” Principal Galeon raised one finger. ”How about letting our students compete as evolution masters?”

Principal Fernandes gritted his teeth as if he were hesitating. However, he soon raised his voice as though he were putting on a tough front. ”Fine. Let’s compete.”

”In that case, I plan to use five S-grade resources as a bet.” Principal Galeon smirked as though the other party had fallen into his trap. ”Surely you are not scared, right?”

”!!!” Principal Fernandes looked shocked. Even Grand Magica College, which had monopolized the resources in the city, could only afford to have 15 S-grade resources in total. Auric was originally not meant to get the resource, so Maya was the one providing it herself.

So, being able to get 33% more resources was huge for Grand Magica College.

”You...” Principal Fernandes looked furious. If he lost, he might not be able to cultivate as many geniuses next year.

That was why he looked so furious. He hesitated, thinking of the possibility of failure.

However, he couldn’t refuse it because it might make him look weak.

Principal Galeon knew this, so he kept provoking him.

Principal Fernandes clicked his tongue. ”Fine. Let’s compete. I’m not scared. My student might not necessarily lose in terms of skill against a 2-star evolution master.”

”Hahaha. You’ve fallen into my trap.” Principal Galeon laughed. ”My student is a genius. His skill is already near the 3-star level. We shall compete with two people, one with a normal variant and one with an extreme variant.”

”What? You... You...” Principal Fernandes took a step back while pointing at him.

”Hahaha. I need to thank you in advance for your resources.” Principal Galeon smirked. ”Let’s meet again on the last day. Don’t run.”

”You...” Principal Fernandes was glaring at him, but he looked like he couldn’t do anything about it.

Principal Galeon laughed happily as though he had just won and snatched many resources from Grand Magica College.

When he left, Principal Fernandes sighed as his expression returned to normal. ”Huu... That was hard. How was it? Was my acting good enough?”

”...” Auric was somewhat speechless. Principal Fernandes turned out to be more flexible than he had thought.

”That’s good enough. At least, we will be able to get a lot of resources for free.” Maya nodded. ”You’d better thank my student once we win.”

”Thank you indeed.” The principal patted Auric’s shoulder. ”Make sure you win.”

”I will do my best.” Auric nodded, not knowing what to say about the principal’s acting.

”Anyway, I’ve set up the competition for you as an evolution master. As for the fight with Tommiseus, you need to challenge him yourself. Most likely, some people will challenge him to check his strength and talent, so just get to the stage later.”

”Understood.”

The staff who handled the registration smiled wryly. She didn’t expect to see Grand Magica College be the one that fooled Willimlie University.

Once the registration was done, the staff immediately handed them cards for their identification.

”Do you want to see the people at the conference?”

Maya waved her hand. ”We should hide our trump card. You should go there by yourself.”

”Fine by me. You can unpack your luggage first and come back three hours later for the opening ceremony. It’s not that important, but you need to attend because the governor will be visiting. You can sleep there for all I care, just make sure to attend.”

”Sure.” Maya waved her hand. ”Let’s go, Auric.”

”Yes.” Auric nodded.

They had something more important to do here, so they didn’t reject him.

As expected of Ellia, she could get a recommendation letter from the principal because of her donation.

He wondered how much the donation was, but looking at the presidential suite where they would be staying, he could imagine the amount. It was definitely not something the principal could refuse.

On the other hand, Maya took out three files. ”I’ve got three people for you this time. Take a look. I will ask them to come here tomorrow.”

”Oh?” Auric was quite curious about the three unique element users. He needed to pick one of them, so he’d better make it count.

”Anyway, you can tell me over the phone. I’m going to the Evolution Association first to seal the deal for your advancement. Do you want to hold it on Wednesday or Thursday?”

”Thursday is better. I have memorized all the materials up to the diamond grade, but it’s better to prepare more.”

”Thursday, then.” Maya waved her hand. ”Anyway, good luck. You’re going to become a lightning-element evolution master this time, right?”

”Yes.”

Once she got the confirmation, she snapped her fingers and left the room.

Meanwhile, Auric opened the files to see their powers.

Name: Lucas Keane

Age: 18

Element: Pure Force (Unique)

Progress: 95%

Affinity: A

”Hmm?” Auric raised his eyebrows. ”Pure Force?”

”According to the description...” Lindwurm looked down. ”...The Pure Force is like a manifestation of pure physical force.”

”In a way, doesn’t it sound like my gravity element? If we use it in the same way, we can probably achieve similar results, right?”

”Most likely.” Lindwurm nodded. ”I guess this one is not really appealing.”

”Yeah.” Auric opened the second file.

Name: Robert Hagenson

Age: 18

Element: Time (Unique)

Progress: 97%

Affinity: A

”It’s a time element!” Auric looked a bit excited. ”The time element is related to the space element, right? Besides, we can probably use them together, right?”

Lindwurm nodded. ”You can probably use the space and time together for the storage ability. Ellia’s Space Storage can’t stop time for food, so it will spoil. If we can deal with that problem, your storage will be better than hers.”

Auric also thought it would be useful. ”I need to see the last option first before making a decision.”

Name: Henry Han

Age: 19

Element: Chaos (Unique)

Progress: 98%

Affinity: S

”This...” Auric didn’t expect the last element. ”Chaos?”

”This is quite interesting.” Lindwurm crossed his arms. ”Chaos means chaos. You can think of it as a way to disintegrate something by causing chaos within the element. This guy’s affinity is also S, meaning he will evolve quicker than the other two. Now, it’s hard to choose between the two.”

”Yeah,” Auric agreed. ”The chaos element can make my fighting power increase drastically. There might be other uses for it as an evolution master. On the other hand, the time element is very convenient as well.”

”Why don’t we take both of them?” Lindwurm asked.

”Both of them?”

”Yes. We are lacking 26%, so we can get 13% from each.”

”How about we get the chaos element this time but still help the one with the time element? I can record the information about the time element first. Once we evolve, will we find a battle technique for the time element in the juvenile form?”

”No, it’s better if you possess the element from the baby-form avatar. This will make you more stable. You should ask your teacher if taking both of them is possible within our schedule. If yes, then go for it.”

Auric thought for a moment before agreeing with Lindwurm. ”All right. We’ll go according to your plan. I’m going to ask now.”

Lindwurm nodded. Even he didn’t expect that there would be two interesting elements that matched their needs. They could get the Pure Force as well, but if Auric had to maximize everything, the time it took would significantly increase. It was better to focus on what he had.
