THE GOD EATER

He thought he was seeing things, because the black veins truly became blood vessels. They entwined with the Divine Spark and helped to channel the golden light in the Divine Spark down into the mountain.

The golden fire of the Divine Spark surged through the veins and turned them golden. Then the power of the Divine Spark surged into the mountain, making it beat like a heart.

It felt as if the mountain had come alive. The feeling made him look at his Divine Spark and say, ”Is this what is called a Dao Heart? How interesting.”

He decided to take a few seconds to admire what he had created. His eyes roamed all over the mountain, nodding his head from time to time.

”I don’t know what this is, but I am sure it must be good, or Dao Lords wouldn’t have tried to stop me from having it. The only things I’m not sure about are what this is for and why Dao Lords placed a limit on 3 billion square kilometers, not 9 billion, to prevent it.”

He would have loved to spend more time checking out his Dao Mountain and experiencing the power of his external body, but the river of death wouldn’t let him.

The river of death had closed in on him and was trying to kill him. If he didn’t leave soon, he would die. So he decided to swim up to the surface of the river.

As it turned out, he wasn’t the only one who wanted him to go up. The world around him was also rejecting him and wanted to leave it completely.

To be exact, the world was rejecting his external body. So the world was trying to force him into the third dimension.

He didn’t mind this feeling of rejection and was even interested in seeing where the world wanted him to go. However, as soon as he made to move, he felt danger.

The danger he felt coming from above was intense. The sources of the danger were also more than one.

From what he could sense, there were exactly eight main sources of danger. These eight loomed over him like sharks waiting for prey to enter their mouth.

Because of this, he shook his head and said, ”I’m not going.”

”Even if I think with my butt, there is no way I’ll decide to go up there. But what do I do? Do I have to wait here to die?”

The river of death couldn’t take away his law fragments anymore because he no longer had law fragments to be taken. But it was still siphoning his lifespan, so he was sure to die soon.

While he was contemplating what to do to get out of his current debacle, the Dao Lords above him were getting impatient.

They had been waiting for a whole 5 minutes and 23 seconds. In their opinion, this was too long to wait.

Over five minutes ago, the commotion under the river of death had ended. What followed was silence.

They thought that would be the end of it. It was the outcome to be expected since the river of death should kill everything in it.

What should happen next is for them to leave. And they did.

They let the rifts close and returned to whatever they were doing. All of them called it a day, except one of them.

One Dao Lord continued to look even when there should be nothing left to look. This was the Dao Lord of the Carefree Immortals Sect.

This Dao Lord possessed two Dao Paths. They were the Archery Path and the Speed Path.

The Dao Lord of the Carefree Immortal Sect isn’t a human, but this isn’t an odd thing in the Sea of Worlds. Most Dao Lords are non-humans, so the human Dao Lords like the Dao Lord of the Sword Way Sect are the odd ones out, not the other way.

The Dao Lord of the Carefree Immortal Sect was usually unconcerned with the affairs of the world. He liked to enjoy life, travel, see new places, and meet new people.

Because of his personality, he was usually the first to stop paying attention to whatever was going on in the Sea of Worlds. But for some reason, he was the last.

In fact, not only was he the last one to leave, he hadn’t left yet. He was still looking at the second heaven. For some reason, his eyes were scanning the second heaven. It was as if he had lost something there that he was looking for.

When he didn’t see what he was looking for, he muttered to himself, saying, ”Maybe I was mistaken.”

A Dao Lord shouldn’t be mistaken. Their perception of the world, especially of their Dao Path, should be perfect. The fact that he dared to consider the possibility that he was mistaken should be proof that something was wrong.

But the more he thought about the matter, the more likely the possibility of being mistaken became. In fact, he eventually concluded that he had to be mistaken.

He shook his head and chuckled, thinking, ’I had to be mistaken. There is just no way anyone would be able to create any Supreme Metacs in the Sea of Worlds. We have the whole place on lockdown.’

’Plus, I have checked, and no one from my sect is missing. If no one from my sect is missing, then it is also unlikely that someone was able to copy my path and initiate it.’

’Maybe an old relic related to the Speed Path showed up earlier. It is unlikely since the previous generation is supposed to be dead and decayed, but it is the second heaven where their bodies decomposed, so it is possible.’

’If it is a relic, I must have it. But how should I go about it? Who should I send to retrieve it for me? And how do i hide what I’m doing from the others? This is going to be difficult.’
