THE GOD EATER

He was hoping that they would engage his idea, argue about it, and maybe try to consider a better way to settle the dispute over who gets the dragon other than a free for for all after the death of the dragon. But they weren’t interested in entertaining the ramblings of a dragon that was going to die soon.

For now, the ten divine beings were rank 6 cultivators. None of them was confident in killing the dragon and taking its heart, which was why no one had made a move yet.

Most of them were waiting for a reinforcement. Those who weren’t waiting for reinforcements didn’t want to be the first one to take a step forward because such a person is likely to be the first to be killed.

Forced Exchange had an advantage earlier. Unfortunately, his Divine Metac wasn’t suitable for fighting someone whose Divine Metac he knew nothing about. Plus, he didn’t want to use up his precious 500 divine points.

All of these considerations caused the standoff to extend to 30 minutes. But the fragile balance was bound to break at some point.

In this case, the balance broke when a rank 7 sword cultivator from an alliance arrived on the scene. This was the first rank 7 cultivator on the scene. She also had three Divine Positions, so he was fearless.

The rank 7 sword cultivator didn’t want to waste this incredible opportunity. She took action as soon as she gauged the situation and realized that she was the strongest person on the scene.

She unsheathed her sword and swung it at Loki. There was a large distance between them, but she covered that distance with a fast burst of speed and power.

She turned into a ray of white sword light that slashed down at him. She didn’t hold back with this attack at all. Yet, Loki was able to raise one hand and smack her aside like one would smack a fly.

The entire thing was leisurely for him. He didn’t look like he was trying at all, but the subsequent impact of his leisurely action had to be taken seriously by everyone.

Just the collision between his hand and the rank 7 cultivator made everyone solemn. This was because his hand had caused two-thirds of her body to explode. Then the remaining one-third had crashed into the forest below.

As she smashed into the ground, she plowed it. Her body carved a trench into the ground as if she were a plough. The longer she remained in contact with the ground, the deeper the trench became.

In no time, the trench had reached 31 meters and was still getting deeper. Fortunately, there was a mountain in her way.

When she crashed into the mountain, it stopped her from going further and deeper into the ground. But the mountain also began to crack.

From the point of impact between her and the mountain, cracks appear on the surface of the mountain. The cracks spread outwards as a web of fault lines. Very quickly, the cracks spread throughout the mountain and carved themselves deep into it. Then the mountain collapsed.

A mountain that was over ten thousand meters tall had a landslide. The landslide was basically the mountain bleeding. Its innards of rocks and stones came washing down like a waterfall. All of the rocks fell on the rank 7 sword cultivator and buried her.

As for the mountain, after losing a third of its size, it had been demarcated into two mountains by the wreckage. So now there were two mountains that were shorter than the original mountain, and this was all because of an indirect blow from the hand of a dragon.

Everyone who saw this all felt the sensation of dread go down the back of their neck to the soles of their feet. Then they stepped back away from the dragon.

Forced Exchange and Floating Furnace, who had been so close to dying, felt the most shaken by what had just happened. They couldn’t believe that they had mocked this dragon and called it foolish while being so close to it. In retrospect, their actions seemed suicidal.

Every divine being looked at the dragon in silence. They were behaving as if they had seen a ghost and were afraid of drawing its attention by talking to it and acknowledging its existence.

They froze in shock while slowly distancing themselves from the dragon. But someone couldn’t take the silence for long.

Floating Furnace said, ”I’m done. This isn’t worth 100 divine merit points at all.”

As soon as he said that, he flew away. Loki watched him go without doing anything other than chuckling.

When some of the remaining divine beings saw that he didn’t do anything to the Monarch Floating Furnace, they also took the opportunity to run away. They fled away at their top speed.

Three divine beings chose to leave with the Floating Furnace. The rank 7 sword cultivator was among them. This left 5 divine beings still unwilling to leave.

These five still harbored hope of killing the dragon or couldn’t leave for various reasons. Forced Exchange was one of these five.

Loki ignored the five of them and instead looked at the sky. He didn’t take any of the five seriously. His focus was only on the spirits in the divine constellation watching him.

The news of the near demise of the rank 7 cultivator quickly spread among the divine beings. Despite this shocking information, more divine beings still came to the scene.

All of them that came were rank 7, who were either confident in their strength or confident in the strength of their numbers. But for a while, no one made a move.

Loki also didn’t attack them. He was content with watching them and letting time pass. So both sides continued to watch each other warily without taking action to get rid of each other.

But after a while, the first rank 8 cultivator arrived. When Loki saw this, he knew that it was time to leave.
