THE GOD EATER

He had just given the order for them to hunt weak rank 7 cultivators and even some rank 6 cultivators when he saw Dragon Master. Dragon Master is the rank 8 cultivator of the Enslavement Pathway. That meant that she belonged to the Four Directions Sect.

The opportunity to grab another rank 8 cultivator grabbed his attention immediately he saw her. He wanted to have a manifestation of his mark on her and catch her. But then he remembered that she belonged to the Four Directions Sect.

So he shook his head and said, ”Forget it. I already have Money Body. I mustn’t be too greedy and push that guy too much, or he will come for my life.”

In fact, he felt that he was already dancing on the edge by capturing two rank 8 cultivators. It was true that the two rank 8 cultivators belonged to different sects, so the threat of angering their Dao Lord would be dispersed.

But it could also become true that by grabbing two rank 8 cultivators from two different sects, he would be angering two Dao Lords who would come for his life. So even though he thought it was a pity, he decided to let Dragon Master go.

He wanted to be done with all sources of dangerous temptations and focus on the two rank 8 divine beings in his grasp. He had to because that was what was good for his health.

Unfortunately, another source of temptation came along. This time, the source of the temptation was stronger than Dragon Master.

The source of the temptation was Sword Will. This was the rank 8 cultivator of the Sword Pathway. He was much more tempting to capture because he belonged to a completely different sect whose Dao Lord he hadn’t offended yet.

He had two choices and only two choices. He could behave as if he saw nothing and let Sword Will go, or he could go ahead to grab Sword Will. These two choices warred within him and threatened to tear him apart with indecision.

Eventually, the war was won. After a few seconds of intensive thinking, he made a decision that left him drained of strength.

He said, ”It is already eye-catching that a random unknown dragon was able to kill two rank 8 cultivators. If a third rank 8 cultivator is added to my infamous reputation, I’m afraid I won’t be able to bear it.”

It wasn’t that he didn’t want the reputation. He was not averse to the reputation of being such a prolific killer of divine beings. In fact, he might intentionally pursue this reputation if not for the repercussions it might bring.

The particular repercussion that he was wary of was the repercussion of the Dao Lords getting curious about him enough to want to see what made him so powerful and prolific at killing their slaves.

He doesn’t know if Dao Lords can look into the Sea of Worlds anyhow they want and interfere anyway they want or if they need to pay a certain price to peek into the Sea of Worlds and interfere in its affairs, but he was sure that the death of three rank 8 cultivators within a short amount of time would encourage them to pay the price if it existed.

So he could only let Sword Will go. After he did so, he sighed and said, ”My main goal for this timeline is to acquire enough power to force Time Walker to tell me what I want to know. Then I can attempt to take his Supreme Metac along the way.”

”As a secondary objective, I also want to learn more about how to create Supreme Metacs and gain more experience so that I can create my own Supreme Metac. These are things that could be jeopardized if I capture Sword Will.”

”Plus, the Sword God is supposed to be the newest Dao Lord. He might care too much about his slaves compared to the others. After all, he doesn’t have as many bases in large worlds as the others. So it is more likely for him to come for my head with the death of a single rank 8 cultivator.”

”Because of these reasons, I have to let him go, no matter how juicy he may seem. In return, I can get the information about the ancient cultivators, how to advance to rank 10, the history of the world, and even the Time Pathway if I play my cards right.”

While he was convincing himself not to bite more than he could chew, Money Body and Dragon Transformation finally accepted his offer.

He didn’t bother playing around with Money Body this time. The offer he made right from the start was for Money Body to make a Supreme Metac. As for whatever they thought about his motive for making the offer, he didn’t care.

His strength was overwhelming, and he could infiltrate the core of their Cave Heaven, so he allowed them to have various thoughts. He was feeling generous, so he didn’t mind their little suspicions and conspiracy.

After they accepted his deal, they killed everyone else in their Cave Heaven. There were six people in each of their Cave Heaven, so 12 people had died just like that.

Two people had already been killed in Money Body’s Cave earlier, so only ten people died in a short amount of time. Even so, ten people dying within the span of five minutes was still a shock to other divine beings.

The way the members of Dragon Transformation’s alliance died also added another layer of impact to the repercussions of ten people dying. The six divine beings in his alliance were also in the second heaven, looking for the dragon. So their deaths were automatically attributed to the dragon.

Plus, some people were there when the six divine beings died. They saw some of these six die for no reason. The divine bodies of the six of them had just scattered into the wind without any sign.
