THE GOD EATER

With the decision made on how to proceed, Star Divination activated her Divine Metac and used it to try to get some information about the money cultivator who just entangled with the thief. This caused her two eyes to shine like twin stars.

Her eyes shone brightly with white light for a few seconds. During this period, scenes, voices, and words flashed through her vision. Through them, she was able to glean a lot of information about what had happened between the money cultivator and the thief.

The fact that she could gain this much information was a good thing. But she wasn’t happy with her discovery. In fact, what she sensed made her face turn dark very quickly.

When Many Eyes saw her reaction, his heart sank. Then he said to her with an anxious voice, ”What is it? What is wrong?”

Star Divination deactivated her Divine Metac, which caused her eyes to dim. But this dimming was only relative to what it was a few seconds ago. Her eyes were still bright. They just weren’t as bright as stars.

After she deactivated her Divine Metac, she exhaled heavily. Then she said, ”I have good news, and I have bad news for you.”

Her words increased Many Eyes’s anxiety, so he said with impatience, ”Don’t keep me in suspense.”

So she said, ”The good news is that I know the identity of the money cultivator. He is Money Armor, a member of the Thorn House of Commerce.”

This was the good news, but when Many Eyes heard it, his heart sank further in preparation for the bad news. This was because any bad news related to the Thorn House of Commerce couldn’t be good for him.

He is a rank 7 divine being, while Money Armor is a rank 6 divine being. He has two rank 7 Divine Metacs, while Money Armor has one rank 6 Divine Metac. He should have the advantage in a fight, but he doesn’t have the confidence in being able to defeat Money Armor because Money Armor is a member of an alliance.

Because of Money Armor’s alliance, the size of Money Armor’s Cave Heaven outclasses his own by more than 7 times. With this kind of difference, he can’t defeat Money Armor.

It is safe to say that he can’t offend Money Armor. If that is true, it is safer to say that he can afford to offend the Thorn House of Commerce.

So his chest was full of dread when he heard Star Divination say, ”The bad news is that Money Armor is dead. I can’t tell who exactly killed him, but I am sure that it has something to do with the thief.”

Many Eyes immediately relaxed when he heard this. As he sighed in relief, he said, ”I thought for a minute there that you would say that the thief was working with the Thorn House of Commerce or that I had offended them in one way.”

This made Star Divination roll her eyes and say, ”If it is any consolation, this small world should belong to the Thorn House of Commerce. So if you still want to offend them, you can go ahead with taking the heart of the world.”

To which, Many Eyes chuckled and said, ”I am not that suicidal. Let us go home.”

He didn’t even wait for their reaction after saying that. He was already flying away as soon as he spoke.

This caused Eye Tracker to shout at him, saying, ”What about the thief?”

Many Eyes didn’t turn back as he called back, saying, ”Didn’t you hear what I just said? I said I am not suicidal.”

”This matter has gotten too big for me. It is just some small worlds. I can bear to let them go. So we are done here.”

Now that he had confirmed that the thief could kill him, he had a change of heart about his dedication to finding out how his small worlds had been exposed.

Besides, now that the world king had offended the Thorn House of Commerce, he could take a step back knowing that the Thorn House of Commerce would avenge his losses.

Even if the Thorn House of Commerce couldn’t defeat the world king, this has only proven that he has no business seeking revenge against the thief. So he was willing to accept the loss of 5 out of his 12 worlds as the cost of doing business.

Unfortunately for some of Loki’s enemies, not everyone of them could afford to pay the cost of doing business that involved him. Slav, in particular, couldn’t just pay a price and call it a day. He knew this with the utmost certainty, even though he didn’t know that Loki was the one coming after him.

Actually, he knew he was in trouble a month ago when he awakened. At that moment in the awakening room, instead of feeling stronger for awakening, he felt that he had become weaker.

At first, he had believed that he was being overly suspicious. But a few minutes later, he fell sick. The sickness was so strong that he actually fell down, unable to stand.

The symptoms of the sickness were general weakness and sudden aging. In just one day, he seemed to age more than 50 years. So his young body became too weak to help him stand. This was why he fell to the ground.

From then on, he had to sit in a wheelchair and be carried around. He was carried like this from one doctor to another, looking for a cure.

His father and his siblings were anxious for him. They wanted to cure him and were willing to pay any cost to do so. Unfortunately, no one could cure him of his disease. Every doctor they met was stumped.

At the end of the day, Slav told his father about the fact that he awakened the Fortune Seeker Metac, a Core Metac of the Luck Pathway. He also insisted on looking for a solution to his sickness through the Luck Pathway.
